Abstract

Taro Beneng (Xanthosoma undipes) is an abbreviation of large and koneng which means large and yellow which has prospects as an alternative food ingredient other than rice which is included in the type of tubers. This plant thrives in the Bangka Belitung area and has an economical selling value, one of which is taro leaves. Taro leaves can be used as raw material for making tobacco cigarettes. The processing of taro leaves by Mr. Arizal is done by chopping beneng taro leaves using a chopping machine with a thickness of 1.5-2 mm. This is still not in accordance with market demand that wants a thickness of 0.5–0.8mm. This study aims to design and build a taro leaf slicing machine with a thickness of 0.5-0.8 mm with a capacity of 5 Kg/hour. The research method used is using a synthesis system in view of combining design ideas with the stages of clarifying and translating the client's wishes. Then these desires are represented so that they can be brought into the process of designing machines, making choices, analyzing choices and the interrelationships between competing options, assessing the trade-offs in them and evaluating them. Based on the design of the taro beneng leaf slicing machine, the results obtained are the machine is capable of slicing leaves with a thickness of 0.5 - 0.8 millimeters with an average slicing result of 0.75mm. The cutting capacity of the taro leaf slicing machine is 4.8 kg/hour or only 53% which can be sliced ​​from an average of 230 grams in an effective scale.

Abstract

Persons with disabilities are any person who experiences physical, intellectual, mental, and/or sensory limitations over a long period of time who in interacting with the environment may experience obstacles and difficulties to participate fully and effectively.. With it designed electric cars for wheelchair users that still carry aspects of safety, manufacturing and economy. The drive system needed in this car modification for people with disabilities uses an additional FESS (Flywheel Energy Storage System) system. FESS is an energy storage system on the flywheel that has a certain period and stores it as kinetic energy and releases energy significantly if the energy is needed (Adhe Anggry, 2016). The purpose of using FESS in this motion system is to save energy on MPKR. The method used in making this study was the design method of VDI 2222.

Abstract

The Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic has machine tools such as conventional machines in the form of lathes, milling, scrap, drills and also automatic machines such as CNC lathes, milling. The machining process used in the production process is a machining process that must comply with the demands of the production quality of CNC Turning Machines at the Polman Babel Mechanical Engineering Laboratory, which often experience damage and disrupt the performance of the machine. The purpose of this research is to identify failure modes, causes of damage, and efforts to minimize and prevent damage that can be done to improve the performance of CNC machines at the Polman Babel Mechanical Engineering Laboratory. The method used to identify and analyze possible damage to the machine uses the Filure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method and is used to find the priority of the problem through the Risk Priority Number (RPN). The results of this study indicate that there is damage to the components in the form of damage to the oil seal, damage to the en-coder, blown fuse and damage to the front door switch. The results of the analysis show that the highest RPN value is the most risky cause of failure and the main cause of damage. Proposed corrective action is to immediately replace components that are no longer functioning properly by optimizing component maintenance according to applicable instructions and rules.

Abstract

Purun is one of the most widely used plants in daily life, such as weaving, crafts, straws and others. The process of preparing the purun is still done manually one by one with a puncture using an iron rod with a diameter of 2-3 mm. In order for the process of repairing the purun bulkhead to be faster, it is necessary to design a tool that helps repair the purun bulkhead to the purun straw. The design of the purun bulkhead cleaning device refers to the VDI 2222 design methodology which has 4 stages, namely, conceptualizing, designing, and organizing plans. The results of the process of repairing this tool can clean as many as 12 sticks of purun rods per process. Within 5 seconds the condition of the purun bulkhead after being released is 100% detached from the purun stem. With this tool, the purun repair process can be faster with maximum skating repairs.

Abstract

Guppies are one type of ornamental fish that are usually kept in aquariums. Water quality is an important factor for the success of this fish culture, such as pH value, temperature, and water level. Then a control system was made that can stabilize the temperature and pH of the water in the aquarium which aims to facilitate IoT-based guppy fish cultivation. Sensors used to read values ​​in water conditions are pH 1402C sensor, DS18B20 sensor, and HCsr-04 ultrasonic sensor. The average percentage error of the pH sensor test data is 0.456%. The average error percentage from the temperature sensor test data is 0.126%. The average error percentage of the ultrasonic sensor test data is 0.278%. The system on temperature control if the aquarium temperature is below 23°C then the heater will turn on, if the aquarium temperature is above 27°C then the fan is on and if the temperature is around 23°C - 27°C then the heater and fan will turn off. In the pH control system there are two push buttons to increase and decrease the pH value in the aquarium.

Abstract

Oil refueling stations can be divided into 2 scales, namely on a large scale managed by large companies and on a small scale managed by small shop owners. However, we still find fuel oil sellers who still use manual tools and of course are not accurate in calculating the volume of fuel oil output. One of the reasons for selling fuel oil is still using manual tools, due to limitations in the cost of purchasing tools that have been developed. Therefore, the purpose of this final project is to create an alternative tool for selling fuel oil with relatively cheaper financing than those on the market. In the implementation of this final project using water as an experimental object with the method used is to compare the suitability of the price with the volume of water issued and calculated through the water flow sensor YF-S201. The results obtained from testing the Arduino-based mini pom control system with an error percentage of 3.84% using 4 varying prices as a test.

Abstract

Hydraulic press tools are usually used in work in the pressing field. The compaction process is a process of forming a powder into a component by using a certain mold. During the compaction process, the metal powder is placed in the mold, then pressure is placed on the mold so that the powder in the mold will be formed following the shape of the mold cavity. The compaction process is carried out by the method of one action compaction pressure and two action compaction pressure method. In the one-action pressing process, the upper cylindrical shaft moves downward pressing the workpiece and for the two-action pressing process, the upper and lower cylindrical shafts move in opposite directions simultaneously pressing the workpiece from the two upper and lower sides. Therefore, in this final project a two-way hydraulic system press is designed which is expected to help the needs of the metal powder compaction process. This two-way hydraulic system press is designed using a bottle jack with a capacity of 10 tons with a large enough capacity. In the research method, the authors collect data, conceptualize, design, make components, assembly, testing and report generation. The results of trials that have been carried out with a two-way hydraulic system press are able to produce the highest pressure of 4000 PSI. These results have not reached the minimum pressure for compacting aluminum powder, which is 5000 PSI.

Abstract

The Heating and Cooling System is a Temperature Controller in the brooding system ofchicken farms. Temperature determines the success of broiler breeders, especially in thebrooding period. If the heating and cooling system is not met, then the performance of thechickens can be problematic and can even cause high mortality. Thus, a heating and coolingcontrol device is urgently needed, with the problem of how to plan, implement and test theresults of temperature control in broiler chicken coops for brooding period automaticallybased on Arduino-Uno whether it is in accordance with the setpoint. The purpose of thisresearch is to be able to plan, implement and obtain test results in accordance with theplanning of this heating and cooling system. The method used isexperimental researchmethods,including1)systemconceptdevelopment,2)systemplanning,3)heatingandcooling system implementationand 4) heatingand cooling temperature testing. Analysis ofthe results is carried out by checking the heating and cooling temperatures planned with thevalue of the test results of the tool. Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of efficiency in collecting and processing attendance data for students and lecturers. Because it often happens that students are often late either in the morning or in the afternoon and it takes too much time for lecturers to see or check student absences every day and is less efficient, therefore the author aims to make this research to discipline the time of lecture activities on campus both for student or teacher. By implementing an RFID-based attendance system that is integrated with Smart Door Lock, it will provide comfort and convenience for students and lecturers to know the schedule for entering and leaving courses. With better developments, students can enter class and miss class with the RFID tag card (KTM Card) that students have. This final project designs and manufactures a tool in the form of an RFID-based attendance system that is integrated with Smart Door Lock which begins with making a concept of the tool, then proceeds with how the tool works and finally the design of the tool that will be used must be adjusted to the needs of the system design that has been previously designed. From the process of this final project, the solenoid door lock can be used to open the door as well as online attendance when the tag card is read by the RFID reader and opens when the tag card is read by the reader.

Abstract

Time is one of the most important elements in human life. Everyone definitely needs time information, so a tool was created to know the time, namely a clock. However, not everyone has the opportunity to be able to use the clock like how it usually is. For example, people with visual impairments in special schools. Therefore, in this final project we made a digital clock that aims to help blind people to know the time at a certain time and can be used conventionally in special schools, where this tool can work in two ways, namely calling time data on the RTC to displayed on the led matrix and compares the time data in a 24-hour format on the RTC with 4 logic programs contained in each push button, where each push button will emit a sound according to its logic on the speaker or headset.  So that the sound issue can be heard clearly, the duration is used for each logic with the following results: The sound of time in the form of a number with 2 syllables requires a duration of 1000 ms, while the normal mode voice with 4 syllables also requires a duration of 1000 ms. Based on the results of these data, it can be concluded that the longer the pronunciation of the word, the greater the duration required, even though it has different syllables.
