Abstract

The increase in industrial activities and motor vehicle usage has led to high emissions of hazardous gases which can negatively impact human health and the environment. Therefore, an effective and real-time gas monitoring system is needed. This study aims to design and develop a hazardous gas detection device based on the Internet of Things (IoT) capable of continuously monitoring CO₂, NOx, and HC concentrations. The system uses MQ-series gas sensors integrated with an ESP32 microcontroller as the main data processor, along with an IoT platform to display measurement results online through a dashboard. The collected data can be accessed in real time via the internet, allowing users to monitor remotely. Testing results show that the device can detect gas concentration changes with good accuracy and fast  response time. This tool is expected to assist in early detection of air pollution and raise awareness of the importance of healthy air quality.

Abstract

Computer monitors are a device that is widely used by all groups, both young and old. This rapid technological advancement can have both positive and negative impacts. The increasingly popular use of the internet can cause users to spend hours in front of computer monitors. Being in front of a computer monitor for too long can have an impact on the sense of sight, namely the eyes. In addition, the monitor screen emits x-rays that can interfere with eye health. Common problems caused by excessive users include the effects of radiation, headaches, insomnia, reproductive disorders, cancer, leukemia, tumors, and other personal health problems. In addition, excessive use of computer monitors can also lead to mild physical fatigue, recurrent headaches, ear disorders, depression, heart attacks, skin cancer, sexual dysfunction, low blood pressure, and body imbalances. Experts suggest that the maximum time to use this computer monitor is 1-2 hours per day, and the need to maintain a safe viewing while using a computer monitor is about 40-50 centimeters from the screen. By keeping the eye away from the screen, the exposure to light received by the eye from the screen can be reduced. To minimize the impact of eye health from exposure to the use of computer monitors, based on the description above, the author took the title of the Final Project, namely "Timer Tools and Brightess Controllers on Computer Monitors".

Abstract

Modern agriculture demands efficiency and accuracy in resource management, particularly in monitoring soil moisture and the content of essential macronutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. This study aims to design and implement a plant monitoring and control system based on the Internet of Things that integrates soil moisture and NPK sensors. The system is designed to collect real-time soil condition data and transmit it to an XAMPP server, allowing smartphone access via a web application. The research method includes hardware and software design, sensor testing, data analysis of the monitoring results and the automatic control of irrigation and fertilization. Data analysis is carried out by comparing sensor measurement results with the standard requirements of the plants. The test results show that the system can effectively monitor and control plant conditions, provide accurate information, and facilitate remote agricultural management. In conclusion, this system can improve the efficiency of water and fertilizer use and crop productivity, thus supporting precision and sustainable agriculture.

Abstract

Repair the braking system on the DoAll Lt 13 no 4 lathe In completing the final project entitled Repair of the Cooling System and Braking System on the Doall Lt13 Lathe at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic, stages of adjustment are made to the flowchart diagram. Problem identification is a crucial stage because if the problem is not identified correctly, the solution applied may not be effective or may even worsen the situation, accurate and in-depth identification also helps ensure that the solution developed will be relevant and effective. In the data collection action there are several methods used to find out the problems and damage that occur in the DoAll LT 13 lathe. The methods used are the technician interview method, looking at the manual book, looking at the machine history book and conducting direct observation on the machine. The following is the initial data from several methods carried out Based on the results of the DoAll LT13 Lathe Brake System repair function test using a clutch motor braking system, the braking system was successfully repaired, and was able to work well and was able to brake. And for the repair of the cooling system on the DoAll Lt 13 no 4 lathe, it was also successfully repaired and obtained optimal results for all components that were repaired.

Abstract

Coconut fruit has various benefits, ranging from its use as a source of food, drink, medicine, to raw materials in the cosmetic industry. Almost all parts of the coconut fruit can be used, such as coconut leaves, wood, coconut water, coconut shells and coconut fiber. Coconut coir is used as a raw material in the manufacture of strong and durable ropes, webbing, brushes, brushes, broom sticks, and fabrics. In the Bangka Belitung Islands, people still use sharpened machetes/machetes and crowbars as tools for peeling coconut coir. The purpose of modifying the coconut coir peeling machine is to reduce the failure rate of stripping coconut coir by prioritizing work safety and speed in stripping coconut coir, therefore we need a coco peeling machine that can achieve the desired goal. At this stage the design process is carried out by applying the VDI 2222 (Verein Deutsche Ingenieuer) method. Modification of the coco peeling machine can peel the coco with the fastest time of 1 minute and the longest time of 2 minute

Abstract

High Jump is one of the most popular sports in the world. The ruler is the main measuring tool in this sport, but until now the height of the ruler is still manually adjusted. This study aims to design and create a high jump ruler that uses solar energy and is based on the Internet of Things (IoT). This tool is designed to help high jump athletes measure jump heights more accurately and efficiently. This system uses a NodeMCU ESP32 microcontroller and ultrasonic sensors to detect the position of the ruler, real-time data, whether or not the athlete is successful in jumping, then the data is sent to the IoT server to be processed and displayed in the form of real-time data. Solar energy is used as a power source to drive this system, so that this tool can be used in the field without the need for additional electricity. The results of the study show that this IoT-based high jump ruler can measure jump height with high accuracy and can be used as a training/tournament aid for high jump athletes.

Abstract

Public services should be accessible to all citizens, including persons with disabilities. However, they still face various forms of discrimination, particularly in terms of physical accessibility and neutral public service policies that do not accommodate their needs. One of the major challenges is the difficulty in using public transportation, which significantly affects their mobility, employment opportunities, and social interaction. This final project aims to design a vehicle door that is accessible and user-friendly for wheelchair users, with a focus on enhancing independent mobility. The design process refers to the VDI 2222 methodology, starting from identifying user needs, developing design concepts, to evaluating the proposed solution. One of the main issues in conventional vehicle design is the door mechanism, which often fails to consider the specific needs of wheelchair users. Common problems include narrow door openings, high floor levels, and unfriendly opening-closing mechanisms. This study proposes several modifications, such as wider door openings, lower floor height, and the use of sliding or automatic doors to improve accessibility. The proposed design is expected to offer a practical and applicable solution that enhances the mobility and quality of life of people with disabilities, especially wheelchair users, in Indonesia.

Abstract

Coffee is an important commodity that has high economic value, both at the national and global levels. The roasting process of coffee beans plays a crucial role in determining the flavor and quality of the final product. However, the automatic roasting machines available on the market are generally intended for large-scale production with prices that are not affordable for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Therefore, this research aims to design and build an economical and easy-to-operate automatic coffee bean roasting machine with a capacity of 1 kilogram. This machine uses a manual heating system, manual temperature control, and is equipped with temperature sensors and an LCD display to monitor the roasting process. The design and construction of this machine are expected to provide an effective and efficient solution for MSMEs to improve the quality of their roasted coffee production. Additionally, an economic study was also conducted to compare the production costs of this machine with the market prices of similar machines.

Abstract

This study aims to design a portable coconut husk shredding machine capable of producing cocopeat, with an emphasis on ease of operation and mobility. The machine is powered by a 7.5 HP gasoline engine and utilizes a shredding system composed of four cutting blades and ten beaters to break down coconut husks into fine cocopeat particles. The design process follows the systematic VDI 2222 method, which includes need identification, concept development, and selection of the final design. The main focus is to create a compact, lightweight, and easily transportable structure without compromising shredding performance. The resulting design successfully meets the operational needs of field users, particularly in terms of portability and user-friendliness. This project was conducted in Bangka Belitung in 2025.

Abstract

This study aims to design a conceptual model of a grass chopper machine to assist in the preparation of livestock feed. The design process was carried out systematically through several stages, including need identification, functional analysis using the Black Box method, development of alternatives via a morphological chart, and evaluation of concepts using a weighted Likert scale. The analysis produced three conceptual design variants (AVK1, AVK2, and AVK3), which were evaluated based on six criteria: functional achievement, manufacturing time, safety, durability, ease of assembly, and maintenance. Based on the evaluation results, AVK3 was selected as the best concept with the highest total score of 4.45. The outcome of this conceptual design is expected to serve as a reference for the future development of an efficient and ergonomic grass chopper machine suitable for small to medium-scale farmers.
