Abstract

In the Toboali region, Mang Dodi's terasi UMKM company still uses traditional methods, which leads to a drawn-out manufacturing process, uneven product quality, and small production levels.  Improved prawn paste printing techniques are therefore required in order to address the issue.  To solve this problem, a faster mould and cutter should be designed utilising the VDI 2222 research approach. A methodical design process that allows for detailed process tracing is what distinguishes this approach.  The two phases of the VDI 2222 method research process are concept formulation and planning.  In the context of the integrated carrier system, the screw and printing system, and the cutter inside a single system, the study's findings help to clarify the alternative selection idea.  This result reveals the ability to manufacture uniform goods, speed up processing times, and increase the quantity of products, all of which are commensurate with the research objectives.

Abstract

Fruit sorting based on ripeness and weight is still largely done manually, which poses a risk of inaccuracies, delays, and labor inefficiencies. This research aims to design and implement an automatic mango sorting system that can detect ripeness levels (raw, ripe, rotten) and measure the weight of the fruit. This system uses TCS3200 color sensors, a 20 kg Load Cell weight sensor, and is controlled by an ATMega328P microcontroller. A 20x4 LCD module is used as a user interface. The methods used include acquiring RGB value and weight data, classifying ripeness levels based on predetermined color thresholds, and real-time weight data processing. Testing results show that the system can accurately identify the skin color of mangos and display the weight with an average deviation of ±0.05 kg. This prototype has been proven to improve the accuracy, speed, and efficiency of the sorting process compared to manual methods. The developed tool is a tangible step towards the implementation of smart agriculture, particularly in the post- harvest process, and has the potential for further development in other fruit types.

Abstract

Saving money is an important but often overlooked habit, especially when it comes to small coins. Many people consider coins to be impractical and worthless, so their existence tends to be overlooked. This research develops a digital piggy bank system based on coin acceptor and ESP32 microcontroller that is able to detect the nominal value of coins automatically. The system not only calculates the total amount of money inserted, but also displays the nominal fraction inserted and the total amount of coins inserted directly through a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and sends the data to a digital application, namely telegram bot, using a Wi-Fi connection. This device is able to detect five types of rupiah coins: Rp100, Rp200, Rp500 (two types), and Rp1,000. The addition of the IoT feature allows users to monitor the amount of savings remotely in real-time. The test results show that the device can identify the nominal accurately and run stably. This prototype is expected to increase interest in saving, especially among children and adolescents, with an educational approach. The limitation of this tool is the dependence on Wi-Fi connection, the system will not be active without the network.

Abstract

The increasing demand for construction materials, particularly sand, continues to rise in line with the rapid development of infrastructure. Manual sand sieving is still widely used, especially in rural areas, but it has proven to be inefficient due to its labor-intensive nature, time consumption, and limited capacity. Therefore, this final project focuses on designing and building an automatic rotary sand sieving machine with a capacity of 130 kg/hour. The machine is powered by a 5 HP gasoline engine and utilizes a belt and pulley transmission system, combined with a sand mesh size of 6 (2.83 mm). The design process adopts the Research and Development (R&D) method, consisting of problem identification, data collection, design, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and user validation. Based on testing results, the machine is capable of producing consistently fine sand suitable for wall plastering in construction. One of the key advantages of this machine lies in its ease of maintenance, especially in replacing the sand mesh, allowing users to adapt the sieve size according to specific requirements. Furthermore, technical calculations such as torque estimation, motor power, angular velocity, and system efficiency have been comprehensively conducted to ensure optimal performance. The implementation of this machine is expected to significantly improve work productivity, reduce reliance on manual labor, and enhance time and cost efficiency in the sand sieving process at construction sites.

Abstract

The problem in the practicum of electrical circuits at the Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic is the unavailability of structured, safe, and effective teaching media. This causes difficulties for students in understanding the concept of wiring diagrams, the use of electrical components, as well as motor control and lighting systems. The purpose of this final project is to design and create simulation-based teaching media for electrical circuits using the Simurelay application. The methods used include data collection through observation, interviews, and practical experience evaluation. The media is designed using industry standard electrical components such as contactors, relays, transformers, timers, and 3-phase electric motors. The test results showed that all circuits, including AC/DC light circuits, traffic light simulations, and CW, CCW, and star-delta motor controllers, were successfully executed according to function. Simulations using the Simurelay application confirm that the designed scheme has run well and according to plan. This media is considered to facilitate the learning process, improve understanding of basic electrical concepts, and support safety and efficiency in practicum. Thus, this teaching media is feasible to be applied as a teaching aid in the technical vocational education environment.

Abstract

The automatic threading system (half‑nut lever) on the DoALL LT‑13 lathe at Polman Babel's mechanical workshop failed to operate, disabling thread-cutting capability. This research aimed to document the repair process and post-repair functionality tests. The methods included 5 Why analysis, apron disassembly, cleaning, gear-idler clearance adjustment, gear surface lapping, and re-calibration of the half‑nut lever. Tests included functional check, dimensional accuracy, and thread cutting on three specimens: M27×3, M20×2.5, and M18×2.5. Results showed normal operation and all threads met ISO tolerance. The lathe is now functional for educational and light machining purposes.

Abstract

The integration of Internet of Things (IoT)-based systems in educational environments represents a strategic approach to improving time management efficiency. This study presents the design and implementation of an IoT-based automatic school bell and class scheduling system, controllable remotely via a mobile application. The system utilizes a NodeMCU ESP32 microcontroller as the main control unit, a DFPlayer Mini for automated audio playback, an LED Dot Matrix display for schedule visualization, and a speaker for audio output. The user interface is developed using the Blynk platform, and all programming is conducted through the Arduino IDE. Experimental results demonstrate that the system operates reliably, rings the bell in accordance with predefined schedules, and displays real-time schedule information. Furthermore, the integration of mobile control enhances user flexibility and operational convenience. This system contributes to the automation and optimization of scheduling tasks within educational institutions.

Abstract

Currently, every shopping center such as a mall must have good parking management, starting from recording incoming vehicles to recording exits based on certain rates charged to visitors. The increasing number of visitors coming to these parking areas will increase the busyness of parking operators. Therefore, a way is needed to help facilitate data collection of incoming and outgoing vehicles. Some devices used to facilitate parking data collection are by using computer devices, which have been widely applied for parking management both in shopping centers and offices. Data collection of vehicles entering and leaving the parking area, as well as calculations regarding the length of parking time and fees charged can be completed properly.

Abstract

A lathe machine is one of the primary machine tools used in manufacturing processes, which rotates a workpiece to facilitate cutting operations with the aid of a cutting tool. The apron and tailstock components on the DoAll Lt. 13 No 03 lathe play a crucial role in maintaining precision and ensuring smooth turning operations. The apron functions to control the automatic movement of the cutting tool along the longitudinal and transverse axes, while the tailstock provides additional support for the workpiece, especially during long turning operations or drilling. Common issues with the apron include wear on the lead screw, whereas the tailstock often experiences misalignment and wear on the bushing thread of the spindle. This study was conducted to repair these damages through disassembly, cleaning, visual inspection, measurement, replacement of damaged components, and realignment. The repair results showed improved machine performance in terms of movement precision and operational stability. By performing regular maintenance and repairs, the lathe machine’s working efficiency can be sustained over the long term.

Abstract

This article discusses the balancing process on a blower using the 4-run method and the balancer feature on the Vibroport 80. The initial vibration measurement of the blower was recorded at 2.28 mm/s, with the impeller weighing 2.5 kg. After adding a 50-gram trial weight at an angle of 0°, the resulting vibration was 0.956 mm/s RMS. At 120°, the vibration measured 2.99 mm/s, and at 240°, it increased to 3.64 mm/s. Based on the calculations performed, a correction weight of 150 grams was determined at an angle of 20°, successfully reducing the vibration to 0.965 mm/s RMS. Using the balancer feature method, the initial vibration value of 1.91 mm/s gradually decreased to 1.36 mm/s after six stages of correction weight application.
