Abstract

This research was conducted to obtain data on the effect of the volume fraction of palm fiber on the tensile strength, modulus of elasticity and impact strength of composites using a 157 Ortho-phthalic Unsaturated Polyester matrix with the hand lay-up method. The object of this research is a composite of palm fiber 2 mm with a variation of fiber volume fraction 15%, 25%, 30%. The highest tensile stress of fiber-reinforced composite 2 mm was found in the volume fraction of 25% with a value of 30.23 MPa. Meanwhile, the highest value of modulus of elasticity is in the volume fraction of 25%, which is 9063.33 MPa. And for the highest impact strength, fiber-reinforced composite 2 mm is found in the volume fraction of 30% with a value of 49.3 Kj/mm². Meanwhile, the lowest tensile strength is found in the volume fraction of 15% with a value of 15.9 MPa. And the lowest elastic modulus value is found in the 15% volume fraction with a value of 7046.66 MPa. And for the lowest impact strength value is in the 25% fraction with a value of 29.73 Kj/mm².

Abstract

Shaft is one of the materials that must have a low surface roughness value from the machining process, especially using the Tornos Geminis S.L semi-automatic lathe. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the furious form on the surface roughness of the S45C material. This study used factor variables that are thought to affect the shape and surface roughness of the S45C material, namely, the cutting angle of the chisel with a level (80o, 82o, 84o), feeding depth with a level (0.4 mm, 0.6 mm, 0.8 mm) and Spindle rotation with levels (200 RPM, 280 RPM, 360 RPM). The lowest surface roughness value for the S45C material was obtained from the variation of the chisel cutting angle factor of 80º, infeed depth of 0.4 mm, and spindle rotation of 280 RPM with a surface roughness value of 5.171 . From the lowest value of surface roughness, a tubular growl (short) is produced.

Abstract

The development of polymer composite materials using natural fibers as a reinforcing medium is something that is necessary because it has many advantages. The study aimed to find out the values of tensile strength, modulus elasticity and optimum bending strength against fiber lengths of 60 mm, 80 mm, 100 mm and volume fractions of 5%, 10% and 15%. The highest tensile voltage is found at a fiber length of 100 mm with a fiber volume fraction of 15% which is 31.3 MPa,while the modulus elasticity of the highest tensile strength is found at a fiber length of 100 mm with a 15% seat volume fraction of 7150 Mpa. For the highest bending strength is found at a fiber length of 100 mm with a fiber volume fraction of 15% which is 66.8 MPa. And modulus values of strong elasticity bending with a fiber length of 100 mm with a fiber volume fraction of 15% 11500 MPa.

Abstract

The results of the minimum surface roughness in the MORI SEIKI SL-25 CNC machining process, the parameters of the MORI SEIKI SL-25 CNC machining process are adjusted in order to obtain a minimum workpiece surface roughness reaction. The research that has been tried aims to ensure the contribution of the CNC MORI SEIKI SL-25 machining process parameters to reduce the alteration of the workpiece surface roughness reaction simultaneously. As well as setting the right parameters of the CNC MORI SEIKI SL-25 machining process parameters in order to obtain a minimum workpiece surface roughness. The machining process parameters that were varied were cutting speed, feed depth and feed motion. The experimental design was inaugurated based on the Taguchi method and in the form of an orthogonal matrix L9 (33). The analysis used is Taguchi. Experiments were carried out randomly with 3 replications to overcome the obstacles that occurred during the machining process. The research results show that to reduce the alteration of the response simultaneously, the cutting speed has a value of 61.98%, the depth of feed has a value of 16.28%. And eating motion has the smallest value of -12.45%. To obtain a minimum workpiece surface roughness on AISI 4340 steel with the MORI SEIKI SL-25 CNC machining process, the cutting speed is set at 130 m/min, the feed depth is set at 1.0 mm and the feed motion is set at 0.55 mm/put.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the duration of immersion of NaOH and the optimal volume fraction of bagasse fiber on tensile strength and impact strength by using Polyester Resin using hand lay-up composite molding method. The object of research is bagasse fiber composites with variations in NaOH immersion and volume fraction. The highest tensile strength in the composite fiber immersion variation for 2 hours with a volume fraction of 15% is 22.3 MPa. Meanwhile, for tilapia the highest impact strength was in the 2-hour fiber immersion variation with 5% bagasse fiber volume fraction of 0.272 J/mm². Meanwhile, the lowest tensile strength is found in the 5% volume fraction, which is 12.8 MPa. And for the lowest strength impact test value in the 15% fraction, which is 0.0113 J/mm².

Abstract

Helmet is a head protection device, especially for motorized vehicle drivers in the form of a head covering that protects the head in the event of a collision. Helmets marked with SNI are helmets that have passed the tests required by SNI 1811-2007 and have received the SNI mark. There are many types of helmets on the market that have passed standardized tests and one of them is the penetration test. Penetration test with a conical metal nail for testing. The indenter falls from a maximum height of 1.6 m, if the helmet is see-through, it means the helmet has failed the standard test, and vice versa. Therefore the penetration test tool is a tool design made on a standard SNI 1811-2007 helmet with safe operation. As well as determining the function of the tool parts and the simulation results of this penetration test tool running properly and correctly. The results of the penetration test design that have been carried out are that designing the drawing of the penetration test tool is in accordance with the SNI 1811-2007 standard which is where the height from the tip of the indenter to the test material is 1.6 meters and the specifications of the indenter with a conical indenter tip 60°, metal hardness 40-50 Rockwell -C, and the overall weight is 3 kg. And Design a penetration test tool that has been optimized easily and simply as well as the simulation results of a safe penetration test as needed.

Abstract

Composite is a system composed by mixing two or more different materials, in form and composition. Between two or more materials are insoluble in each other. Composites are very influential on the mechanical properties. The most influential factors are fiber fraction, fiber length and immersion used. This study aims to examine the effect of volume fraction variations on the mechanical properties of applied tree bark fiber reinforced composites. This study used matrix and fiber volume fraction 5% : 95%, 6% : 94%, 7% : 93% with 5% NaOH for 2 hours. The material used is fiber. Applied tree bark. Composites are made using the hand lay up method. The tests carried out were tensile test and Impact Charpy test with ASTM D638 Type 1 tensile test standard and ISO-179 impact test. The result of the highest tensile strength at 7% volume fraction that is equal to 36.32 Mpa. While the results of the smallest tensile strength at 5% volume fraction that is equal to 28.74 Mpa. And the results of the highest composite impact test at 7% volume fraction that is 0.051198 Joul/mm2. Meanwhile, the lowest impact strength was at 5% volume fraction with a value of 0.009652 Joul/mm2.

Abstract

Pandan thorn with the term (Pandanus tectorius) is a bush plant with climbing stems and has a height of 11 m. This research was conducted to obtain data on the tensile strength and impact strength of pandan thorn fiber with variations in fiber direction and volume fraction. This research is expected to be useful for SNI helmet materials. The maximum value of tensile strength is 41.33 MPa in the vertical fiber direction and the fiber volume fraction is 12.5%. While the lowest tensile strength value is 8.44 MPa using horizontal fiber direction with a fiber volume fraction of 7.5%. The largest impact strength is 0.0616 J/mm2 in the vertical direction of fiber with a fiber volume fraction of 12.5% and the smallest impact strength is 0.0216 J/mm2 in the horizontal fiber direction with a fiber volume fraction of 7.5%. In this test, compared with the results of the tensile and impact strength testing of SNI helmets of 33.93 MPa and 0.00972 J/mm2, the specimens passed the material test for SNI helmets.

Abstract

Tahap pengujian pada suatu aplikasi memiliki peran penting dalam memerika suatu komponen fungsi pada sistem tersebut sudah berlajan dengan baik atau masih terdapat kesalahan yang perlu diperbaiki. Sistem informasi manajemen proyek akhir merupakan aplikasi berbasis web yang dirancang untuk membantu kegiatan proyek akhir di Politeknik Manufaktur Negeri Bangka Belitung yang sebelumnya dilakukan secara manual. Pada saat proses perancangan sistem informasi manajemen proyek akhir terdapat tahap pengujian untuk sistem tersebut. Sistem tersebut akan diuji menggunakan motode black box testing dikarenakan teknik tersebut dapat mengetahui kesalahan pada fungsi, interface dan struktur data. Dalam pembuatan test case dan modul saat pengujian sistem menggunakan teknik equivalence partitioning. Teknik Equivalence Partitioning merupakan salah satu teknik pengujian black box yang membagi data masukan menjadi beberapa modul kasus uji berdasarkan fungsi masing-masing.

Abstract

Bengkel Mekanik Polman Negeri Babel adalah tempat para mahasiswa melakukan praktek mesin. Di Bengkel Mekanik, mahasiswa dan dosen dapat meminjam mesin untuk keperluannya. Di dalam Bengkel Mekanik, terdapat banyak mesin dengan tipe yang berbeda, contohnya ada mesin Bubut, mesin Frais serta mesin yang lainnya. Proses peminjaman mesin di Bengkel Mekanik Polman Negeri Babel masih dilakukan secara manual, yakni dengan melakukan pencatatan peminjaman menggunakan kertas. Hal ini mengakibatkan proses peminjaman menjadi tidak efektif dan proses pelaporan peminjaman menjadi lebih sulit dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan dalam proses peminjaman mesin di Bengkel Mekanik Polman Negeri Babel melalui pengembangan Sistem Peminjaman Mesin di Bengkel Mekanik Berbasis Web. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah dengan menggunakan model waterfall di mana pengembangan sistem diawali dengan proses analisis, perancangan, pengkodean, pengujian dan pemeliharaan. Hasil penelitian berupa Sistem Peminjaman Mesin di Bengkel Mekanik Berbasis Web. Sistem yang dikembangkan diuji dengan menggunakan metode blackbox testing dan kesesuaian sistem dengan user requirement diujikan ke user untuk mendapatkan user accaptance. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan kesesuaian sistem terhadap masing-masing user.
