Abstract

This article discusses the role of WiFi technology in supporting information search services at the Indo Global Mandiri University Library Palembang. The purpose of writing this article is to get an overview of the role of WiFi technology implemented at the Indo Global Mandiri University Library Palembang to facilitate users in accessing literature through literature search services. This article was written using a qualitative approach method with data collection techniques through direct observation in the field, interviews with informants who are librarians of the Indo Global Mandiri University Library Palembang, and documentation. The results of this study can be concluded that WiFi plays a crucial role in improving information accessibility at the Indo Global Mandiri University Library (UIGM), such as access to a number of online journals, e-books, scripts, theses and other scientific works that are digital in nature to support learning and research. But besides that, there are still obstacles in the implementation, namely limited IT experts.

Abstract

This research discusses the important role of women's empowerment in alleviating poverty, preventing stunting, and managing local food in Ciamis Regency, West Java. Women's empowerment in Ciamis Regency has shown a significant contribution in supporting poverty alleviation, stunting prevention and local food management. Various programs, such as entrepreneurship training, nutrition education, and diversification of local food products, have empowered women socially and economically, increased household income, and supported community food security. In preventing stunting, women play a strategic role through nutrition and sanitation education, even though they still face challenges in the form of low public awareness, economic constraints and limited health infrastructure. In the local food management sector, women are involved in developing commodities such as fish, coffee and red chilies, which not only provide added economic value but also strengthen their role as agents of change in the community. Cross-sector support from government, community organizations and local communities has been an important factor in the success of these programs. However, challenges in the form of limited access to resources, social norms and digital literacy need to be overcome to ensure program sustainability. Overall, women's empowerment in Ciamis has great potential to support sustainable development, with a focus on increasing access to resources, education and effective cross-sector collaboration. This initiative makes a real contribution to reducing poverty, increasing food security and strengthening community welfare.

Abstract

he lack of public understanding of the librarian profession makes this profession considered a profession without clear prospects and only as a bookkeeper. Apart from that, this profession tends to be considered an alternative profession and not a profession choice. In practice, in school libraries, the profession of librarian tends to be given to teachers who have fewer performance points. This condition makes the librarian profession not a priority, especially if this position is held by those who do not have librarian competence. Like professions in general, librarians must also have personality and skill qualifications. Apart from that, Law Number 43 of 2007 about libraries, which also regulates librarians. Internal problem formulation this research, namely: (1) what is the level of competence of librarians in inner Lampung facing the digital era, (2) how librarians explore their professional identity, and (3) what factors are obstacles and supports for librarians to develop/improve their professional identity. The aim of this research is, namely, to explain and analyze the initial competencies of the librarian profession in Lampung and explain and analyze how librarians explore identity professionalism based on the competencies they possess. The benefits of this research are: as input material for related individuals and institutions in development efforts; professional identity of librarians, which will ultimately lead to improvement in professionalism of work; and quality of service attached to it. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods, which are supported by result data observations, interviews, and literature studies, which are analyzed through the data display process, reduction, verification, and triangulation. The results of this research are expected to provide a positive contribution to the development of the self-identity and personal branding of librarians so that the librarian profession becomes the main profession in society. In addition, this research will also contribute to the development of the quality of librarians and their main duties and functions accompanying.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of research on artificial intelligence (AI) in academic libraries using a bibliometric approach. Bibliographic data were collected from the Scopus database covering publications from 2020 to 2025. The analysis focused on publication trends, productive authors, leading publishers, and keyword co-occurrence to identify major research themes. The results indicate a significant increase in publications, particularly after 2023, highlighting the growing interest in AI applications such as machine learning, digital libraries, recommender systems, and information retrieval. The findings show that AI has become an essential component in enhancing library services, improving access to information, and supporting academic users. This study provides insights into research patterns and offers references for academic libraries in developing innovative AI-based services.

Abstract

Digital transformation in higher education requires libraries to deliver adaptive, collaborative, and technology-driven services. Consequently, the role of librarians has shifted from collection managers to learning facilitators, research partners, and digital content developers. This study aims to formulate a comprehensive, structured, and relevant librarian human resource development model aligned with the needs of digital academic services at Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD). Using a qualitative approach through a literature review, the study analyzes competency requirements, challenges in human resource development, and best practices in innovation spaces and professional learning ecosystems. Thematic analysis identifies four primary human resource development needs: structured learning, service creativity, professional collaboration, and knowledge documentation. The synthesis of findings results in the conceptual LEAPS-Co Hub model for library implementation, consisting of four operational components: a Learning Center, a Creative & Innovation Studio, a Collaboration & Synergy Room, and a Knowledge Documentation Hub. This concept is designed to establish a sustainable, well-documented competency development cycle aligned with human resource policies through integration with BSDM UAD. The study concludes that the LEAPS-Co Hub has strong potential as an adaptive and relevant professional development ecosystem for the UAD Library in responding to the dynamics of digital transformation, while also offering opportunities for phased implementation and further development in accordance with institutional readiness. Abstract

Indonesia’s geographic locations surrounded between two major oceans and two major continents brings a number of advantages and disadvantages such as high soil fertility as well as high propensity for tectonic and volcanic-induced disasters. Therefore, it is important for every Indonesian to possess high levels of disaster literacy and disaster preparedness to minimize losses caused, specifically for tectonic and volcanic-induced disasters. Research data are collected through offline questionnaires chosen for the size of research area and age spread of respondents that are dominated by age 36 and older respondents. Data analysis are done using SPSS 26 and multiple linear regression method is used due to multiple independent variables used in this research. Significant relationship is found between disaster literacy and emergency response plans as well as disaster literacy and early warning systems. However, significant relationship between disaster literacy and disaster knowledge as wall as disaster literacy and resource mobilizations are not present. While the researched community possess the ability to prevent excessive losses, knowledge and resources utility still needs to be maximized further.

Abstract

Plagiarism is an academic problem that often occurs in higher education environments, including in the preparation of students' scientific works. This phenomenon is caused not only by students' lack of understanding of scientific writing ethics but also by limited skills in correct citation and paraphrasing. This study aims to analyze the role of libraries in reducing the level of plagiarism in student scientific work at Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto. The research method used was a qualitative phenomenological approach, using data collection techniques such as interviews, observation, and documentation. The results indicate that libraries play a strategic role in reducing plagiarism through several efforts, including providing adequate reference sources, information literacy training, promoting the use of reference management applications such as Zotero and Mendeley, and utilizing plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin. Furthermore, librarians also act as facilitators of academic education, helping students understand the importance of scientific integrity. However, obstacles remain, including low student awareness and suboptimal utilization of library services. In conclusion, libraries play a significant role in reducing plagiarism, but increased collaboration between libraries, faculty, and institutions is needed to optimize this role. Sustainable efforts in information literacy education are key to building an honest and responsible academic culture. Keywords: library, plagiarism, student scientific work.

Abstract

Archival management in Indonesian archival institutions and government agencies continues to face significant challenges related to accessibility, retrieval efficiency, and location-based data integration. This study aims to: (1) describe the application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in digital archival storage systems, (2) analyze the integration mechanism of spatial and attribute data in GIS-based archival management, and (3) identify the contribution of GIS to improving archival data accessibility. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through a systematic literature review of 47 academic sources published between 2015 and 2025, encompassing national and international scientific journals, archival regulations, and implementation reports from various institutions. The results indicate that GIS implementation in archival management significantly increases document search speed by up to 95%, improves archival recall accuracy from 41% to 94%, and expands service coverage from local to national scope. The integration of vector and raster spatial data formats with attribute data through a geodatabase creates a multi-dimensional search system unavailable in conventional systems. These findings confirm that GIS is not merely a cartographic tool but a transformative archival information infrastructure. The academic contribution of this research lies in the development of a GIS-archive conceptual integration framework that can be adopted by archival institutions in Indonesia within the e-government context.
