Abstract

This study aims to unveil the effect of entrepreneurship education, curriculum, and lecturer competency on entrepreneurial grit among higher education students in Bandung. The research employs a quantitative approach, utilizing questionnaires as the primary data collection instrument. A total of 83 respondents, all higher education students in Bandung, participated in the survey. The data were subjected to statistical analysis to determine the impact of the three variables on entrepreneurial grit, defined as the perseverance and passion for long-term goals in entrepreneurship. The results of the analysis indicate that the curriculum does not have a significant influence on entrepreneurial grit. This suggests that the structure and content of the curriculum alone may not be sufficient to cultivate the necessary traits for entrepreneurial success. On the other hand, entrepreneurship education and lecturer competency were found to have a positive and significant impact on entrepreneurial grit. This underscores the importance of well-designed entrepreneurship education programs and the crucial role of competent lecturers in fostering and nurturing entrepreneurial qualities in students. These findings provide valuable insights for educational institutions aiming to enhance their entrepreneurship programs. By focusing on the quality of entrepreneurship education and the competencies of their lecturers, institutions can better support the development of entrepreneurial grit among their students. This study highlights the need for a more holistic approach to entrepreneurship education, where both the content and delivery by skilled educators are given priority to effectively cultivate future entrepreneurs.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of sustainable financial reporting and compliance with environmental regulations on decision-making effectiveness within the Bandung manufacturing industry. A quantitative analysis was conducted using survey data collected from manufacturing firms in Bandung, Indonesia. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were employed to examine the relationships between sustainable financial reporting, environmental regulations compliance, and decision-making effectiveness. The results reveal significant positive correlations between sustainable financial reporting, environmental regulations compliance, and decision-making effectiveness. Regression analysis demonstrates that both sustainable financial reporting and environmental regulations compliance are significant predictors of decision-making effectiveness, even after controlling for relevant covariates. These findings underscore the importance of integrating sustainability principles and regulatory compliance into organizational decision-making processes to enhance performance outcomes and stakeholder value within the manufacturing sector.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to get the optimal ship dimension for the Bombana - Tanjung Pising - Baubau crossing route. This research uses a linear programming optimization method. By identifying problems and mismatches of ships operating with the main objective of ferry transportation, and determining the objective function of optimization. Then determine the aspects of ship design that are adjusted to the characteristics of the ferry based on optimization constraints, namely demand conditions, oceanography and infrastructure. The direction of optimization is more emphasized on increasing the speed and effectiveness of greater loading capacity on passenger and vehicle. The results have been obtained in the form of the optimal principal dimension of the ship for the Bombana - Tanjung Pising - Baubau crossing route with effective ship speed

Abstract

This research aims to look at the economic structure transformation in each district in Riau Province. The method used is analyzing competitive advantage and specialization of Esteban Marquillass and Klassen typology. From the results of processing, it is known that agriculture, forestry, and fisheries are superior sectors, have competitiveness, and are specialized in 6 districts in Riau, namely Indragiri Hulu (Inhu), Kampar, Indragiri Hilir (Inhil), Pelalawan, Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing), and Rokan Hulu (Rohul). The manufacturing industry is a superior sector that has competitiveness and specialization in Dumai City, and the trade sector is a sector that has a competitive advantage and specialization in Pekanbaru City. Meanwhile, no single industry has a competitive advantage and specialization in 4 other districts (Siak, Bengkalis, Rokan Hilir, and Kepulauan Meranti). Processing results with the Klassen typology show that the agricultural industry in Kuansing, Inhu, and Kampar Regencies, which 2012 was developing, will shift to become a mainstay sector in 2022. In contrast, in Bengkalis, Pekanbaru, and Dumai Regencies, this sector is still one of the lagging economic sectors.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology and access to information in the digital age has greatly impacted children, known as the digital native generation. While technology offers easy access to information and educational tools, it also presents risks such as internet addiction and exposure to harmful content. The family, especially parents, plays a crucial role in shaping children's character. Parents need to teach, guide, and protect children from the negative impacts of technology. This article delves into the concept of democratic parenting, which is considered effective in addressing these challenges. In this approach, there is an emphasis on two-way communication, allowing both parents and children to express their opinions. It focuses on setting realistic boundaries, balanced supervision, and responsible development of digital skills. This parenting style helps children learn to manage their screen time and develop healthy digital habits. Additionally, children are taught to think critically, respect diverse opinions, and become independent. Parents should familiarize themselves with their children's technology, set time limits for using digital devices, choose safe and educational content, and actively engage in their children's digital activities. With the right guidance, children can utilize technology for positive self-development, tackle technological challenges, and grow into responsible, critical, and adaptable individuals.
