Abstract

Bridal makeup for long gown styles emphasized a soft and flawless look. Commonly used techniques included sponge and airbrush. The sponge absorbed more product, requiring more foundation, while the airbrush required advanced skills and specialized tools. This study aimed to compare the results of applying liquid foundation using these two techniques. A pre-experimental method with a quantitative approach was employed. The sample consisted of six individuals divided into two groups: three used the sponge technique and three used airbrush. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis tests. The results show that the sponge technique yields an average smoothness of 57.1%, evenness of 61.9%, durability of 57.1%, and panelist preference of 76.1%. Meanwhile, the airbrush technique shows superior results in smoothness and evenness (76.1%), equal durability (57.1%), and panelist preference of 71.4%. Statistical analysis indicates significant differences in smoothness (p=0.001), evenness (p=0.001), and panelist preference (p=0.003), but no significant difference in durability (p=0.075).

Abstract

This study aims to compare the use of cake foundation and liquid foundation in terms of smoothness and durability of daily makeup for oily skin. The research employed a pre-experimental method with a one-shot case study design. The participants consisted of six students from the Department of Cosmetology, Universitas Negeri Padang, class of 2023, who have oily skin types. The evaluation was carried out by seven skilled panelists from educational institutions, the beauty industry, and student representatives. Data were collected through observation and documentation, and then analyzed using a T-test. The findings revealed that the application of cake foundation resulted in higher levels of smoothness and durability compared to liquid foundation. The average smoothness score for cake foundation was 3.43, while liquid foundation scored 3.05. In terms of durability, cake foundation achieved an average score of 3.52, whereas liquid foundation scored 2.67. Based on the hypothesis testing, a significance value of 0.035 < 0.05 was obtained, indicating a significant difference between the application of cake foundation and liquid foundation on the smoothness and durability of daily makeup for oily skin.

Abstract

Drama, as a form of literary work, plays a significant role in reflecting life values, social issues, and the psychological dynamics of human beings. Kakek dan Nenek (Grandfather and Grandmother), a play by Danarto, is a literary piece rich in philosophical and emotional meaning, portraying the complexity of human relationships, especially in old age. The background of this research is based on the importance of understanding the aesthetic, symbolic, and humanitarian messages embedded in dramatic works, particularly in the social and spiritual lives of the characters. The objective of this study is to analyze the structure, theme, characters, and symbols used in the play KAKEK dan NENEK, as well as to uncover the life values it conveys. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with structural and semiotic approaches, where the data are derived from the original script and analyzed both textually and contextually. The findings reveal that the play not only illustrates the eternal love story between the two main characters but also implies social criticism, existential reflection, and the use of symbols such as a rose stem, a clock, and the sound of a baby to represent the life cycle, hope, and mortality. The dynamic, poetic, and emotionally rich dialogue structure enhances the reader's and viewer's experience in comprehending deeper meanings of life. Overall, the analysis shows that this play is a work of profound meaning, linguistic aesthetics, and strong narrative power.

Abstract

Sundanese Siger bridal makeup is widely modified in terms of makeup that looks simple and soft. One important part of bridal makeup is the eyes. For cosmetics in eye makeup, namely eyeshadow. In addition to eyeshadow, Highlighter can also be used as eyeshadow. The function of Highlighter on the eyes is to provide a shimmer effect and make the eyeshadow color more durable. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of applying mixing glitter eyeshadow with Highlighter for the durability of eyeshadow color in Sundanese Siger bridal makeup.modification. The method used is pre-experimental with a quantitative approach. The number of samples is six people with three control groups and three experimental groups. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Data analysis techniques consist of normality tests, homogeneity tests and hypothesis tests. The results show that the application of mixing glitter eyeshadow with Highlighter produces 61% smoothness, 66% evenness, and 33% durability. Statistical analysis shows no significant effect on three indicators, namely smoothness p = 1,000, evenness p = 0.527, and durability p = 0.834. It is hoped that this research can provide insight that the Sundanese Siger modified bride can still create an elegant and magnificent impression without glitter and Highlighter, and emphasize the importance of harmony between traditional and modern elements in makeup.

Abstract

Mental health has become a crucial issue in modern life, marked by social pressures, crises of meaning, and increasing psychological disorders. In this context, Sufistic psychology emerges as a spiritual approach capable of addressing the inner needs of modern humans. Sufism emphasizes soul purification, self-control, and closeness to God as a foundation for achieving inner peace. Through practices such as dhikr (remembrance of God), muhasabah (self-reflection), tafakkur (contemplation), and tawakal (trust in God), Sufism serves as an effective spiritual coping mechanism for managing stress and strengthening psychological resilience. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a library research method to examine the role of Sufistic psychology in building mental health. The findings indicate that Sufistic psychology is not only curative but also preventive and transformative. However, its implementation still faces challenges, including mystical stigmas, low spiritual literacy, and clashes between traditional and modern values. Therefore, an integrative and contextual approach is needed so that Sufistic values can make a real contribution to improving mental health in contemporary society.

Abstract

Discovery Learning (DL) is increasingly being applied in mathematics learning, but in-depth studies are still needed to assess the extent to which this method is effective in improving students' abilities in solving mathematical problems, as well as analyzing various existing research regarding the impact of DL models on students' problem-solving abilities. This research aims to analyze various existing research results regarding the influence of DL models on students' problem-solving abilities. This study is very important to provide strong evidence about the effectiveness of DL, so that it can help educators make evidence-based decisions in the mathematics learning process. For its methodology, this research uses quantitative meta-analysis by conducting a systematic review of 12 research articles published between 2017 and 2024, and calculating the effect size. The results of the meta-analysis show that the DL model has a significant influence on mathematical problem solving abilities (KPMM), with an effect size reaching 2.569, which shows a large impact in improving this competency. This research contributes to strengthening empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of DL in mathematics education, especially in terms of developing problem-solving abilities. These findings suggest that educators should consider integrating the DL model in mathematics teaching to improve students' problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

The weakening of nationalism among the younger generation, especially Generation Z, has become a strategic issue amid the enormous influence of digital globalization. This generation grew up in a fast-paced and connected technological ecosistem (digital natives), which makes them vulnerable to foreign cultural domination and prone to referring to external values in their daily lives. This article aims to examine the process of internalizing nationalist values in the daily lives of Indonesia's young generation and formulate strategies to strengthen national values relevant to the digital era. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach based on a literature review, analyzing various scientific literature and current digital sources. Data were collected from academic literature, journals, and relevant digital sources. The main findings show that nationalism is not only reflected in national symbols but also in concrete actions such as loving local products, participating in community activities, and using social media wisely to voice concern for the nation. On the other hand, the main challenges faced are low critical digital literacy and transnational information flows that have the potential to erode national identity. Therefore, the internalization of nationalist values requires an interdisciplinary, participatory, and contextual approach through meaningful social experiences for the younger generation.

Abstract

This socialization aims to develop the potential to see business opportunities and increase work effectiveness in understanding Genjer cultivation and ease of marketing using AIDA IoT technology in the Ulugabe village community. The problems studied are 1) How is the quality of the Genjer plant condition in the Ulugabe village community? 2) How does the community handle Genjer cultivation in Ulugabe Village? 3) How does the community manage Genjer plants to marketing? The research method used is introducing socialization with a Plant Science and IoT Technology approach. Where data collection is carried out through observation, presentation and documentation studies. The results of the observation stated that the level of understanding of Plant Science and Genjer plant processing as a business still needs to be improved, especially in marketing techniques that can be more efficient using AI technology. Increasing the use of AI software technology such as Chat Bot examples is still not optimal among the community, including teenagers. Therefore, the ability of the community to use and understand it still needs to be improved, especially in the form of Genjer plant cultivation applications and the application of IoT technology to master agricultural technology. The socialization of this research resulted in a thought design to see the genjer plant as a business opportunity with ease in the application of IoT technology which is expected to increase productivity, quality of entrepreneurship, and application of science in the Ulugabe village community.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how to use statistics to assist in the principal's decision-making in the field of management for educator development. Statistics plays an important role in the development of science, one of which is in education. Educational statistics can be used to process data with the SPSS and Microsoft Excel application programs. So far, applications have been widely used by students in analyzing data to help develop the profession and quality of educators. This study will provide an example of implementing the application to determine the determining factors among several factors that affect performance. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a Waterfall model approach, which includes the stages of needs analysis, design, implementation, testing, and evaluation. Testing is carried out through expert validation, system functionality testing, and user testing. The test results show that this application has a high level of feasibility based on expert validation, and is considered easy to use and accurate in producing analysis by users.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has made a major contribution to the world of research, especially in data management and analysis. Statistical computer applications such as SPSS and Microsoft Excel are effective tools for analyzing data systematically, quickly, and accurately. This study aims to improve the role and effectiveness of the use of statistical computer applications in managing research data. By using a descriptive approach through literature studies and simple case studies, this study identifies the advantages, disadvantages, and challenges in using statistical software. The results of the study indicate that computer applications greatly assist researchers in the process of inputting, analyzing, and interpreting data. However, the effectiveness of its use also depends heavily on the level of statistical literacy and technological skills of the user. Training and assistance are needed so that the use of statistical computer applications can be optimized in research activities.
