Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of illustrated comic media in Indonesian language learning as an effort to improve the responsibility values ​​of grade 2 elementary school students. The value of responsibility is an important part of character education that needs to be instilled early on, especially through an approach that is appropriate to the child's developmental stage. The methodology used in this study is a literature study, by reviewing a number of sources such as scientific journals, reference books, and previous research reports that are relevant to the use of comic media in the context of learning and strengthening character. The results of the study indicate that illustrated comic media can be an effective means of conveying moral messages because it combines visual and narrative aspects that are interesting for early childhood students. Comics allow the presentation of responsibility values ​​through characters and storylines that are easy to understand and serve as role models for students. In the context of Indonesian language learning, comics also support reading skills and understanding the contents of the story, while facilitating discussion of the values ​​contained therein. The conclusion of this study shows that the use of illustrated comic media in a planned and systematic manner can contribute positively to improving students' understanding and application of responsibility values ​​in everyday life. This media also supports the creation of fun, meaningful, and contextual learning for elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the role playing method in improving understanding of historical context in fifth grade elementary school students. The background of this study is the low ability of students to understand history as a whole, where learning tends to focus on memorizing facts such as names of figures, dates, and events, without understanding the background, process, and values ​​contained therein. The role playing method was chosen because it is able to present an active, participatory learning experience, and facilitate students to understand historical events through role simulation and story reconstruction. This study uses a qualitative approach based on literature studies, by reviewing various research results, journals, and scientific references related to the application of role playing in history learning. The results of the study show that the role playing method is effective in increasing student involvement, motivating learning, and deepening contextual understanding of historical events. In addition, role playing also contributes to developing students' social, communication, empathy, and critical thinking skills. Supporting factors for the success of this method include relevant scenario design, the role of the teacher as a facilitator, a conducive learning environment, and appropriate assessment. Obstacles such as student shyness, time constraints, and lack of facilities can be overcome with the right approach. Thus, role playing is recommended as an innovative learning strategy to improve more contextual, meaningful, and enjoyable understanding of history in Elementary Schools.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance elementary school students' learning enthusiasm in mathematics through the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) approach. The background of this research is the low motivation among students, caused by the dominance of conventional, teacher-centered teaching methods, limited active student engagement, and abstract, non-contextual learning materials. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using observation, documentation, and literature review as data collection techniques. The research subjects were elementary school students engaged in mathematics learning through project-based activities. One of the implemented projects was the creation of a measuring tool made from recycled materials, designed to be relevant to students’ daily lives and aligned with the learning objectives of the Merdeka Curriculum. The data were analyzed using data reduction, narrative presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques, with validity ensured through source and method triangulation. The results indicated a significant increase in students' learning enthusiasm, as reflected in the questionnaire scores which rose from 65 to 83, along with improvements in indicators such as curiosity, enthusiasm, collaboration, and self-confidence. PjBL proved effective in fostering students’ intrinsic motivation by offering autonomy, authentic projects, active collaboration, and constructive feedback. Despite challenges such as time management, limited resources, and varying group participation levels, the implementation of PjBL succeeded in creating a more meaningful, enjoyable, and contextual learning environment. This study recommends broader adoption of PjBL in elementary mathematics education as a strategic effort to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

Abstract

The endocrine system and the immune system are two main physiological systems that play an important role in maintaining body balance (homeostasis) and defending the body from various external threats such as infections, toxins, and stress. Both do not work independently, but rather establish complex interactions through various biochemical pathways, including hormones and cytokines. Recent research has shown that disorders in one system can affect the function of the other system. This article aims to review the relationship between the endocrine system and the immune system, with a focus on the cooperation of hormones in supporting the body's defense. This study uses a literature study method based on the latest scientific journals in the last five years. The results show a two-way interaction between endocrine hormones such as glucocorticoids, thyroid hormones, and sex hormones on immune function, both stimulatively and suppressively. Understanding this relationship is important for the development of more effective and integrated immunology and endocrinology therapies.

Abstract

This study aims to create evening wear designs based on local cultural concepts, inspired by the architecture of Pura Luhur Poten at Mount Bromo. Exploration of an unconventional material, embossed velvet upholstery, was conducted using a practice-led research method, including exploration, design, and realization stages. Techniques such as pleating, tucking, and quilting were applied to represent the architectural elements of the temple. The results consist of three designs—one for men and two for women—with A and H silhouettes that blend traditional and modern elements. Gray and red colors were chosen to reflect the characteristics of Pura Luhur Poten. This study demonstrates that local cultural values can be interpreted into fashion designs that are both aesthetic and philosophical.

Abstract

This research focuses on the creation of ready-to-wear deluxe fashion inspired by the sand sea of Mount Bromo. The objectives of this research are to describe the creation process of deluxe ready to wear fashion inspired by the sea of sand of Mount Bromo, to produce deluxe ready to wear fashion inspired by the sea of sand of Mount Bromo, and to publish the result of creation of deluxe ready to wear fashion inspired by the sea of sand of Mount Bromo, . The type of research used in this study is artistic research, emlpying a practice-led research method, which consists of four stages: pre-design, design, realization, and presentation. The results of this research are three sets of ready-to-wear deluxe garments categorized as special occasion stage wear, which represent the visual characteristics of Mount Bromo's sand sea through material selection, color, silhouette, and fabric manipulation techniques. The work was showcased at the “34th Fashion Show UNESA: Bhumibrama,” as a form of appreciation for Indonesia’s natural heritage, presented in a modern fashion concept. The conclusion of this research reveals that nature exploration, particularly the visual elements of the sand sea of Mount Bromo, can serve as a strong source of inspiration for fashion design. This work demonstrates that Indonesia’s natural heritage can be transformed into fashion concepts with both aesthetic value and high commercial potential.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze strategies that can increase companies' interest in utilizing advertising media at Minangkabau International Airport's jet bridges, Padang. The jet bridge is a strategic area with significant potential as a promotional medium due to the intensity of direct interaction with airline passengers. However, its utilization has not been optimal. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection methods consisting of in-depth interviews with airport management and advertising companies, observations of advertising media conditions at the location, and documentation studies related to policies and previous marketing data. The results showed that two main obstacles in attracting advertisers were the lack of information provided to potential clients and the high cost of advertising. Many companies were unaware of the strategic potential of advertising media at the jet bridges or the pricing schemes offered. Therefore, strategies identified as effective included increasing digital promotion through social media and the airport's official website, developing a more flexible pricing scheme according to market segmentation, and strengthening collaboration with local stakeholders such as local governments and business associations. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of professional and adaptive advertising media management. Optimizing advertising on boarding bridges not only has the potential to increase non-aeronautical revenue for the airport, but can also strengthen the region's image as a dynamic destination and support local economic growth.

Abstract

Xiao Long Bao is known for its uniqueness in serving soup inside dumplings. This study aims to: 1) determine the effect of the addition of mussels and the proportion of chicken: mocaf  flour on the level of xiao long bao's preference; 2) determine the interaction between the addition of mussels and the proportion of chicken: mocaf  flour on  the level of xiao long bao's preference; 3) determine the nutritional content of xiao long bao with the addition of mussels and the proportion of chicken: mocaf flourbest. The research method used was in the form of a preference test with 50 panelists. Data analysis was carried out using the two way anova test and the Duncan test. The best Xiao long bao will be tested for its nutrient content in laboratory tests. The results of the study showed that: 1) products with the addition of 15% mussels and chicken proportions: mocaf  flour of 90%:10% is preferred based on color, aroma, texture taste and chewiness; 2) the interaction of the addition of mussels and the proportion of chicken: mocaf  flour has a real effect on the finished color, aroma, taste, and texture of xiao long bao, but it does not have a real effect on the finished result of xiao long bao's chewiness; 3) The results of the Xiao Long Bao laboratory test with the addition of 15% mussels and the proportion of chicken: Mocaf flour 90%:10% has a carbohydrate content of 51.12%, protein 7.85%, fat 3.82%, and calcium 185.20%.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of changes in organizational behavior which is considered less than optimal, especially in the environment of educational institutions in the city of Medan. In the dynamics of daily work, various challenges are still found such as low levels of discipline, weak work initiatives, and lack of collaboration and professionalism among educators and education staff. One of the factors that is suspected to be the main cause of these problems is irregularities in the implementation of training or human resource capacity development. Training should be a strategic means of instilling organizational values, building a positive work culture, and improving individual and collective competencies. Training that is designed and implemented periodically is believed to be able to be one of the important instruments in changing the work behavior of educational apparatus towards a more productive and professional direction. However, in practice, there have not been many studies that have empirically tested the extent to which periodic training is able to influence real changes in organizational behavior. Therefore, this study aims to quantitatively examine the effect of periodic training on organizational behavior changes in educational institutions, especially in the city of Medan. The main focus of this study includes three important aspects, namely improving work culture, increasing collaboration among others, and increasing professionalism. Data was obtained through survey techniques on a number of respondents from various educational institutions. The results of the study show that periodic training makes a significant contribution to improving discipline, work initiative, a sense of responsibility, and forming a pattern of work behavior that is adaptive to organizational changes and challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the optimal proportion between soy milk and dates in the preparation of panna cotta as an innovative food product that considers nutritional value. The innovation is intended to create a dessert alternative that is not only delicious but also nutritionally rich and suitable for consumers seeking healthy or plant-based food options. The specific objectives of this study are: (1) To determine the best sensory quality based on variations in soy milk proportions in the panna cotta, (2) To identify the best sensory quality based on different proportions of dates, (3) To examine the interaction between soy milk and dates on the sensory qualities of the panna cotta, and (4) To analyze the nutritional content of the best panna cotta formulation in terms of calories, carbohydrates, protein, and fat. This research employed an experimental method with a factorial design to observe the individual and interactive effects of the ingredients on sensory attributes (color, aroma, texture, and taste) and nutritional content. The results showed that: (1) The best formulation was obtained from the combination of 75% soy milk and 75% dates based on panelist evaluations. (2) Soy milk had a significant influence on the sensory attributes of color, aroma, texture, and taste. (3) Dates had a significant effect on the texture. (4) There was a significant interaction between soy milk and dates on the sensory qualities of color and texture, indicating a synergy that enhances the overall product appeal. (5) The nutritional analysis of the best panna cotta revealed the following composition per 100 grams: 216.50 kcal of energy, 8.82% protein, 7.05% fat, and 27.08% carbohydrates. These findings suggest that panna cotta made with a combination of soy milk and dates can serve as a healthy, nutritious, and innovative dessert option, appealing both in flavor and in nutritional profile, particularly for health-conscious or plant-based consumers.
