Abstract

Stroke is the second leading cause of death after heart disease. This condition is thought to be related to risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus, smoking, and lack of physical activity. The existence of these risk factors can affect a person's BMI (Body Mass Index). This study aims to determine the relationship between BMI status and the length of hospitalization of SNH patients at Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital, Semarang. This study uses analytical observational research and cohort research design. Data collection was carried out prospectively through the measurement of LLA and knee height in SNH patients as well as patient medical record data. The medical record data taken is the length of hospitalization of SNH patients obtained from the date of admission to the date of discharge from the hospital. The number of samples studied was 65 patients using the non-probability sampling method with consecutive sampling that had met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The research was conducted at Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital Semarang from October 2024 - January 2024. The results of bivariate data analysis using the contingency coefficient statistical test obtained a significance value of P=0.047 (P<0.05) so that it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between BMI status and the length of hospitalization of SNH patients at Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital, Semarang. The level of closeness of the relationship with the contingency coefficient test in this study was obtained r = 0.239 (0.20-0.399) so it is said that the closeness of the relationship is weak. It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between BMI and length of stay in SNH patients at Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital Semarang. The length of hospitalization in SNH patients is also influenced by the severity of comorbidities, so that SNH patients with a high level of comorbidity severity have a longer length of hospitalization.

Abstract

Background: Dehydration is a prevalent consequence of the condition noticed in pediatric patients presenting to the Emergency Department (ER). Dehydration transpires when the excretion of water exceeds its intake, followed by the concomitant loss of electrolytes. This research aims to assess mother knowledge and attitudes on the prevention of dehydration in children under five years old suffering from diarrhea. Method: This research employs a descriptive methodology with a survey design, including 53 participants who are moms of toddlers. Data was gathered via a questionnaire assessing the knowledge and attitudes of mothers with children under five about dehydration prevention. This research employs purposive sampling and encompasses two types of data: categorical and numerical. Categorical data comprises respondent traits, knowledge, and attitudes, while numerical data pertains to age.. Results: The study revealed that among 53 respondents, 20 (37.7%) exhibited characteristics of early adulthood (ages 26-35). All respondents were female, totaling 53 (100.0%). The predominant educational attainment among respondents was high school/vocational school, with 21 individuals representing 39.6% of the total respondents. The sample included 38 moms, of whom 71.7% were non-employed or homemakers. The predominant religious affiliation among respondents was Islam, with 47 individuals (88.7%), followed by 5 Protestant Christians (9.4%) and 1 Catholic Christian (1.9%). Furthermore, statistics about respondents' knowledge indicated that 4 respondents (7.5%) exhibited bad results. Among 53 respondents, 25 (47.2%) shown excellent knowledge, while 24 (45.3%) displayed adequate knowledge. Data on attitudes revealed that, among the 53 respondents, 16 (30.2%) exhibited a positive attitude, 33 (62.3%) demonstrated a satisfactory attitude, and 4 (7.5%) displayed a negative attitude.. Conclusion: Efforts are still needed to improve knowledge and attitudes in the prevention of dehydration in children under five because from the results of the study there are still respondents with less knowledge and attitudes.

Abstract

In patients with chronic kidney failure, family support is very important for someone to undergo treatment therapy, whether carried out directly or indirectly. The role of the family, whether father, mother, husband, wife or children, provides support to someone to make them feel strong in undergoing therapy. This type of research is quantitative research with correlational analytical methods and cross-sectional design. Based on the research results, the total sample in this study was 64 patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis at PMI Bogor Hospital. Respondents with good family support were 41 respondents (64.1%) and 23 respondents (35.9%) had less family support. Respondents who were compliant with hemodialysis were 54 respondents (84.4%) and 10 respondents (15.6%) were non-compliant with hemodialysis. Based on the Spearman correlation test, it was found that family support with hemodialysis compliance had a significance value of p > 0.1, meaning the H0 hypothesis was accepted and if the significance value was p < 0.1, it meant H0 was rejected. So it is concluded that H0 is accepted, which means it is concluded that there is no relationship between family support and compliance with hemodialysis in chronic kidney failure patients at PMI Bogor Hospital in 2024.

Abstract

Sectio Caesarea (CS) is a method of childbirth through surgery with an incision in the abdomen and uterus. The causative factors include narrow pelvis, placenta previa, fetal malpresentation, and fetal distress. According to WHO, the global caesarean delivery rate ranges from 5-15% per 1000 births. Physiotherapy plays an important role in improving functional ability after CS through movement, reducing pain, increasing muscle strength, and accelerating recovery. A 30-year-old female patient, G3P2A0, 39+5 weeks of gestation, came to Simo Boyolali Hospital with complaints of tight stomach and premature rupture of membranes. The CS operation was performed at 16.00 WIB. Postoperatively, the patient experienced abdominal pain that worsened when moving and had difficulty sitting and breast milk had not come out. The patient was given breathing exercises, pelvic floor exercises, and mobilization exercises every 2 hours with 8 repetitions. The results showed a decrease in pain and an increase in functional ability. The post-CS physiotherapy program with breathing exercises, pelvic floor exercises, and mobilization exercises was effective in reducing pain and increasing the patient's functional ability.

Abstract

According to WHO (2015), health research results increase births with Sectio Caesarea in all countries around 50-150 per 1,000 births in the world. Post-operative conditions can cause physical discomfort in patients, such as nausea, vomiting and pain. The pain felt by an individual is a stimulus that affects sleep quality. One of the non-pharmacological therapies to overcome postpartum Sectio Caesarea maternal sleep pattern disorders is Slow Stroke Back Massage therapy. This therapy is an effective therapy for treating sleep pattern disorders and can increase comfort with sensory integrity techniques that affect the autonomic nervous system. Objective: To provide nursing care to clients who experience problems with sleep patterns due to post op caesarean section by providing slow stroke back massage therapy at the Hapsah Hospital, Bone Regency.Method: This research is qualitative research using the case study method. The data collection techniques are through interviews, questionnaire methods, measurement and observation. Results: After providing nursing care to clients who experienced sleep pattern disturbances due to post op caesarean section with the provision of slow stroke back massage therapy intervention from the three respondents, there was one respondent who stated that the problem of sleep pattern disturbances had not been resolved. This is due to several factors, namely complaints of pain, fussy babies, changes in sleep patterns in the final trimester of pregnancy and the provision of therapy on the second day of implementation not in accordance with the SOP with a time of 8 minutes. Conclusion: After providing nursing care for 3 days, it can be concluded that the slow stroke back massage therapy nursing action is effective for clients who experience sleep disturbances due to post op caesarean section.

This study used a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational survey and a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 68 pregnant women selected randomly. The research was conducted from May 1 to 11, 2024, in the working area of Peulumat Public Health Center, South Aceh. The study found a significant influence of family support on the mental health of pregnant women in the area, with a p-value of 0.007. Additionally, peer support also had a significant effect on the mental health of pregnant women, with a p-value of 0.002. These findings highlight the importance of social support from family and peers in maintaining the mental health of pregnant women.
