Abstract

Student mental health is an important aspect that needs to be considered in higher education, including at STIKES Griya Husada Sumbawa. A stressful and demanding academic environment can affect students' mental health. This research aims to identify factors that support mental health, with a focus on the role of Islamic religious education. Religious education not only teaches spiritual values, but also forms positive character and ethics. Using a qualitative approach, this research involved 30 students from the Public Health, Nursing and Midwifery study programs. The research results show that students who are active in religious activities have lower stress levels and better social support. Islamic religious education functions as a protective factor that increases students' mental resilience, helping them develop positive attitudes in facing challenges. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating religious education with mental health programs on campus to create an academic environment that supports student well-being.

Abstract

Hepatic abscess is the most common type of visceral abscess. The annual incidence of hepatic abscess is reported to be 2.3 cases per 100,000 population, with a higher incidence in men compared to women. In this case, a 22-year-old male patient presented to the emergency department of Haulussy Regional General Hospital with complaints of generalized abdominal pain. Laboratory results showed a decrease in hemoglobin and lymphocytes, while leukocyte levels were elevated. Urea and SGPT levels were also increased, whereas albumin levels were decreased. The medical management provided to the patient in this case included surgical intervention in the form of exploratory laparotomy. Exploratory laparotomy is a surgical procedure performed by making an incision in the peritoneal cavity to allow the surgeon to directly visualize or inspect the internal organs of the abdomen. The procedure aims to obtain a clear view of the patient's abdominal condition, which cannot be definitively assessed through non-invasive examinations such as imaging studies.

Abstract

Uterine atony is one of the leading causes of postpartum hemorrhage that can be life-threatening for the patient. Management of uterine atony often involves surgical procedures and the use of general anesthesia to ensure the patient's safety and comfort. This case report presents a patient with uterine atony who underwent surgery with general anesthesia and endotracheal intubation. Endotracheal intubation was chosen to maintain an open airway and prevent aspiration during the procedure. In this case, the selection of appropriate anesthesia and intubation techniques was crucial to managing severe bleeding and maintaining the patient's hemodynamic stability. The success of the procedure highlights the importance of optimal anesthesia preparation and management in patients with critical postpartum conditions.

Abstract

Knee osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease that causes stiffness, pain, and joint deformity, potentially impacting patients' quality of life. Acupuncture is a non-pharmacological therapy option. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of acupuncture therapy in knee osteoarthritis patients using literature searches on PubMed®, Cochrane®, and ScienceDirect® with the keyword "effectiveness therapy of acupuncture for knee osteoarthritis." The analysis showed that acupuncture could reduce pain intensity and improve quality of life through the regulation of inflammatory factor inhibition, neurological activity modulation, stimulation of ?-endorphin release, and antioxidant activation. Further studies are needed to ensure long-term effects and optimize therapy combinations for treating knee osteoarthritis patients.
