Abstract

This study will investigate this relationship between the tahfiz and the students' emotional intelligence. Quantitative research and correlational methodology are used in this study. The research population consists of 97 students from Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Muallimin UNIVA Medan. Cluster random sampling was employed as the sampling method in this research. A questionnaire was used as the data collection method. The study data were examined using the t-test statistical method, the coefficient of determination test, and the Pearson product moment correlation. According to the study's findings, students at MAS Muallimin Univa Medan's emotional intelligence is significantly influenced by the tahfiz students. This is supported by the person correlation value of 0.620 and the sig value of 0.000 < 0.05. The Tahfidz Al-Qur'an program makes a 38% contribution to the emotional intelligence of pupils. The results of the t test show that tcount > ttable with Sig = 0.000 < 0.05). Using the formula dk = n-k = 95, the tcount is 7,712 and the ttable value is 1,985, with a significant level of 5%. The results of the study show a strong relationship between students' emotional intelligence and the Tahfidz Al-Qur'an curriculum. These findings are valuable for educators in developing impactful programs that enhance the overall quality of graduates in terms of intellectual capabilities, attitudes, and skills. Additionally, stakeholders can leverage the research to inform education policies and strive for outstanding graduates.

Abstract

Adolescence's middle years are fraught with problems that force them to make good or bad decisions in their social interactions. Schools play an important role in guiding students' development in the right direction. The purpose of this research is to investigate a model for integrating the Tarbiyah Islamiyah curriculum in order to improve the character of students. The vocational high school Bina Potensi Palu is the site of this research. This study is a qualitative-descriptive. The respondents included the principal and four teachers who were directly involved in tarbiyah islamiyah activities. Data was gathered through an in-depth interview technique and presented following the reduction and triangulation processes. The findings of this study revealed that: 1) the tarbiyah Islamiyah integration process took two forms, that is integration into Islamic religious education subjects and integration into extracurricular activities that were held every weekend. Integration using Fogarty's shared model; 2) Tarbiyah islamiyah in schools implements a limited boarding school system; the authors refer to it as "semi-boarding school"; 3) Tarbiyah islamiyah teaches social values and characters such as obedience to parents and teachers, respect for others, politeness in relationships, caring for others, tolerance, respect for other religions, and visiting the sick. The application of social character is carried out verbally and nonverbally through school culture. These social characters are the foundation of character education in schools, which supports the national education curriculum's aims. Educational institutions should implement it to achieve national education goals in developing students social characters.

Abstract

The process of doing a needs analysis becomes essential since it gives instructional designers the chance to create learning materials that will actually benefit the target audiences. The present study aimed at scrutinizing the studentsÔÇÖ needs to develop an English course for agriculture students in Indonesian vocational higher education or polytechnic. The researchers try to bring novelty in the present study by considering CEFR framework as a standard for describing and determining the level of ability or proficiency. Convergent parallel mixed methods design was employed in the current study. The data were obtained from questionnaires, interviews and focused group discussion. The questionnaire was distributed to the agriculture department students, employing a stratified random sampling method. In addition, the interview and focused group discussion were done with the coordinators of study program, the Head of Quality Assurance, lecturers who taught Intermediate English Course, and industry partners as well. The data collected from questionnaires, interview, and focused group discussion were then analyzed using side-by-side comparison. The results disclosed that the language skill considered the most important for the agriculture department students is speaking skill since it has a great impact on studentsÔÇÖ academic, social and professional development. In other words, the agriculture department students require a learning process that emphasizes practice over theory. Furthermore, to make classroom activities more exciting, they desire the learning process that is blended with games. As a result, this study also provides implications for course designers to develop English materials that reflect comprehensive needs of the students.┬á
