Abstract

Teacher is one of the important components in learning activities. A teacher must have good Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) competence. PCK is a combination of teaching knowledge (pedagogic) and knowledge of teaching materials (content). The purpose of this study was to identify the PCK competence of physics teacher candidates using CoRe (Content Represantation) and PaP-eRs (Pedagogical and Professional-experience Repertories) instruments. The method used in this research is a quantitative approach to identify the PCK abilities of prospective physics teachers in the Physics Education study program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta as measured by two instruments, namely CoRe and PaP-eRs. Based on the results of the research analysis, it can be concluded that in some indicators, prospective physics teachers are still weak in understanding PCK and it is important to make improvements in the selection of appropriate learning strategies. Prospective physics teachers also still experience misconceptions when learning in class, especially in the mteri of effort and energy

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Biology learning booklet on the topic of "Environmental Issues and Mitigation Efforts" integrated with the local culture of the Paninjauan community in Tanah Datar, as well as to analyze teachers' responses to its development. The booklet is designed to reintroduce local cultural values to students, support the preservation of fading traditions, and enhance motivation to learn Biology through contextual and engaging materials. This research employs a qualitative method, collecting data through questionnaires and interviews involving Biology teachers from various high schools as participants. The findings reveal that the booklet received positive feedback from teachers. It is considered visually appealing and content-rich, making it relevant for Biology learning, as it effectively increases students' motivation while reinforcing local cultural values. Teachers highlighted that integrating local culture into Biology learning is an effective way to achieve holistic educational goals. Therefore, this booklet is deemed suitable as a supplementary learning resource to enrich Biology education and promote the preservation of local cultural values.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the limited learning media such as PPT, videos, textbooks, and LKPD used which can hinder learning and the absence of a practical module or practical implementation guidelines that can hinder the course of the practical work and the lack of student motivation in learning biology. Therefore, the researcher developed a Video-Assisted Biology Practical Module on Cell material. With the aim of seeing the validity and practicality of the Video-Assisted Biology Practical Module on Cell Material which is valid and practical. The type of research used is development research (Research & Development). The RnD model used is 4-D. With reporting covering up to the third stage, namely develop which involves validity and practicality. The research instruments used are validity sheets and practicality sheets. The results of the study showed that the developed module met all aspects of development research and was in accordance with the desired module characteristics. The Video-Assisted Biology Practical Module was considered very valid with an average validation result reaching 92% for the module and 89% for the practical video. In addition, the average practicality result of the student response questionnaire is 87%, which is also categorized as very practical. Based on the response questionnaire from students, this practical module is included in the very practical category and is ready to be used in the learning process.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop Augmented Reality (AR) learning media for the Solar System tailored for SMP/MTs students, ensuring that it is valid, practical, and effective. This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) methodology, utilizing the 4-D development model, which consists of the stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. However, due to time and cost constraints, this research was conducted only up to the development stage. The findings indicate that the Augmented Reality learning media developed is highly valid, achieving a validity score of 93.5%. In terms of practicality, the student response questionnaire results demonstrate that the media is very practical, with a score of 91.8%. These results suggest that the Augmented Reality Solar System learning media for SMP/MTs is suitable for use as an effective learning resource in schools at the SMP/MTs level

Abstract

This research is motivated by teachers who have not designed teaching modules independently, then the students' lack of knowledge about Minangkabau local wisdom and then teachers also have not used the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. learning model which causes the students' learning process to be less capable in solving problems. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using an integrated biology module with Minangkabau local wisdom in the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in improving student learning outcomes in class X ecosystem material at SMAN 1 Lintau Buo Utara. This type of quantitative research, with a true experimental research design in the form of a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study was 354 consisting of 10 classes. The sampling technique used was random sampling technique. The research instrument created was a question that was validated by 3 validators consisting of 2 lecturers and 1 biology subject educator at SMAN 1 Lintau Buo Utara. The research results showed that learning outcomes increased in treatment group 1. There was an increase in N-Gain learning scores by 29.54%. The hypothesis was tested using the t-test with the help of the SPSS 25 program. Based on the t-test carried out with the help of the SPSS 25 program, Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.050, namely 0.000 on student learning outcomes, so the research hypothesis is accepted. So it can be concluded that the use of an integrated biology module with Minangkabau local wisdom using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on Ecosystem material is effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Students at SMAN 1 Ulakan Tapakis have low scientific literacy, which prompted this study. Based on the results of the PISA study, the scientific literacy of Indonesian students is still relatively low because the results obtained have not reached the OECD average score of 485. This type of research is quantitative research involving all students of class X of SMAN 1 Ulakan Tapakis in the 2023/2024 academic year. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling. The sample in this study, namely class X.E1, was taken based on consideration of the results of daily tests. Several factors that are the basis for selecting students in the class are interviews as one of the research methods used in data collection and direct observation in the school field. The results of the simple water wheel experiment carried out by students with infographics containing the process or steps of the experiment and the working principles of the experiment carried out, can run according to the images displayed in the results and discussion sections. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in students' daily test scores after making a project using the experimental method. On average, students obtained daily test scores above the KKM, which was 75. However, there were still students who obtained low scores because the simple water wheel project they made had not been implemented properly

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and explore teachers' responses to the development of a local wisdom-based biotechnology practicum module integrated with Qur'anic values. This module is designed to improve students' understanding of biotechnology concepts through an approach that is relevant to cultural and religious contexts. The research method used was qualitative by collecting data through questionnaires and interviews. The research participants were biology teachers from various high schools. The results showed that most of the teachers gave positive responses to the developed practicum module. Teachers appreciated the integration of local wisdom with Qur'anic values, which was considered to enrich teaching materials and make learning more interesting and meaningful for students. The module is considered capable of providing a more contextual and relevant learning experience for students, as well as encouraging the strengthening of religious values in science education. Recommendations for future research include the development of teacher training and long-term evaluation of the impact of using this module on student learning outcomes
