Abstract

Bullying and violence in early childhood is a worrying global phenomenon with long-term impacts on children's physical, psychological, social, and spiritual development. This study examines the relevance of Islamic ethical values as a comprehensive solution to address the issue of bullying and violence in early childhood. Using a qualitative approach with library research and content analysis methods, this study analyzes five fundamental values of Islamic ethics: akhlaq karimah (noble character), rahmah (universal compassion), adl (justice), hikmah (wisdom), and ukhuwah (universal brotherhood). Data were collected from primary sources (the Qur'an and Hadith) and secondary sources (scientific journals, books, research reports) relevant to the research topic. The results of the study indicate that Islamic ethical values have high relevance in the prevention and handling of bullying in early childhood. Akhlaq karimah serves as the foundation for character formation through the development of the qualities of ash-sabr (patience), at-tawadhu (humility), and ar-rifq (gentleness). The value of rahmah develops empathy and a protective attitude towards the weak. The concept of adl ensures fair treatment without discrimination, while hikmah provides wisdom in choosing appropriate intervention strategies. Ukhuwah creates an inclusive environment of brotherhood. Implementation can be done through three main approaches: (1) A family approach through parental role models and informal education at home; (2) An institutional approach with an integrated curriculum and a conducive school environment; (3) A community approach through community involvement and the use of technological media. Preventive strategies are carried out through early character formation and social sensitivity education, while curative strategies use a restorative approach and counseling based on Islamic values. Keywords: Islamic Ethics; Bullying; Child Violence; Early Childhood; Character Education.

Abstract

Early childhood education is a fundamental phase in character formation, requiring a learning approach that can instill positive values from an early age. The Merdeka Curriculum introduces the Project for Strengthening Pancasila Student Profiles (P5) as one of the project-based learning strategies that emphasizes real, collaborative, and contextual experiences. This study aims to describe the implementation of P5 in instilling positive character in early childhood at TK Aisyiyah Banyubiru. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects consisted of teachers, students, and the school principal. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the implementation of P5 was carried out through various project activities such as planting, maintaining environmental cleanliness, participating in social sharing activities, and habituation of daily worship practices. These activities contributed to the development of positive character traits in children, including independence, responsibility, cooperation, discipline, environmental awareness, and religiosity. The implementation of P5 at TK Aisyiyah Banyubiru can serve as an effective strategy for instilling positive character in early childhood, in line with the objectives of the Merdeka Curriculum and the values of Islamic education.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Islamic values into early childhood education (ECE) management and examines how collaborative-participatory leadership contributes to institutional adaptation amid digital disruption. Employing a qualitative library research method, the study analyzes key principles such as rahmah (compassion), ‘adl (justice), amanah (trustworthiness), and syura (consultation) as the ethical foundation for educational governance. The findings reveal that Islamic-based management fosters holistic education by balancing cognitive, affective, and spiritual development while promoting inclusivity and moral responsibility among educators. Furthermore, collaborative leadership enhances professional empowerment, creativity, and shared accountability between teachers, parents, and communities, enabling institutions to embrace technological innovation without compromising core Islamic values. This research concludes that integrating Islamic values with participatory leadership establishes a sustainable management model that preserves spirituality and humanity in the digital age.

Abstract

Self-confidence is a fundamental aspect of social-emotional development in early childhood, influencing children’s ability to interact, make decisions, and face challenges within the learning environment. This study aims to theoretically examine how group activities can serve as an effective strategy for fostering self-confidence in early childhood through positive social experiences, collaboration, and emotional support from peers and educators. This research employs a literature study method by reviewing scientific articles, academic books, and research findings from at least the last five years. The analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques to identify the relationship between group activities and self-confidence development based on social-emotional theories, Erikson’s initiative stage, Vygotsky’s social interaction theory, and the concept of self-efficacy. The findings indicate that structured, collaborative, and developmentally appropriate group activities effectively enhance children’s sense of competence, courage, and independence. Therefore, group activities can be utilized as a strong pedagogical approach to support the development of self-confidence in early childhood. Keywords: Self-confidence; early childhood; group activities.

Abstract

Deaf children experience limitations in verbal communication that significantly affect their emotional regulation and social adjustment. These conditions require inclusive and adaptive guidance and counseling services. This study aims to describe the implementation of inclusive counseling approaches for deaf children at State Special School (SLB Negeri) Cilacap. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method through observation and in-depth interviews with school counselors. The research subject was a 10-year-old deaf student. The results indicate that the humanistic counseling approach plays a central role in building an empathetic and supportive counseling relationship. Behavioral, cognitive, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approaches were applied situationally to support adaptive behavior and emotional regulation. The main challenge encountered was limited verbal communication, which requires counselors to master alternative communication strategies such as sign language and visual media. This study concludes that integrative inclusive counseling approaches contribute positively to emotional regulation and social adjustment of deaf children.

Abstract

This study examines the intellectual structure and research trends of social science publications on Down syndrome parents. Scopus data on English-language sociology journal articles was used for a bibliometric analysis. Descriptive indicators and visualization were used to identify publication trends, prolific authors, leading countries, influential journals, and dominant research themes. Research output on Down syndrome parental issues has gradually increased, indicating academic interest. Developing nations contributed little to most publications. Keyword analysis revealed parental support, family adaptation, caregiving challenges, and social inclusion as research themes. The findings show gaps in cultural context and parental readiness research in non-Western societies, despite growing literature. This comprehensive review of existing research provides valuable insights for future Down syndrome family studies and policy development.

Abstract

Language learning in early childhood plays a crucial role in shaping cognitive development. In Islamic early childhood education, basic Arabic language learning is not only positioned as a religious medium but also as a pedagogical instrument that supports children’s cognitive growth. This article aims to analyze the relationship between basic Arabic language learning and early childhood cognitive development from the perspective of developmental psychology. Employing a qualitative approach through library research and conceptual analysis, this study examines theories of cognitive development and their relevance to early Arabic language instruction in Islamic preschool settings. The findings indicate that basic Arabic learning activities, particularly vocabulary recognition, phonological awareness, and symbolic association through play-based learning, significantly contribute to cognitive abilities such as memory, classification, symbol recognition, and early abstract thinking. These findings align with Piaget’s cognitive developmental stages and Vygotsky’s sociocultural theory, which emphasize language as a fundamental tool for thought and social interaction. Therefore, basic Arabic instruction for young children should be designed developmentally appropriate, contextual, and enjoyable to function not merely as linguistic exposure but also as a cognitive stimulation strategy in Islamic early childhood education.
