Abstract

The existence of madrasah diniyah as a non-formal educational institution plays a crucial role in shaping the character and religious understanding of the younger generation at the local level. This study focuses on Madrasah Diniyah Nurul Hikmah in Sahang Village, an institution that has just obtained legality from the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) but still faces fundamental challenges in terms of curriculum and supporting facilities. The purpose of this study is to formulate an optimization strategy for Madrasah Diniyah Nurul Hikmah, with the main focus on strengthening the religious curriculum as the foundation for institutional development. This study uses a qualitative approach with a Participatory Action Research (PAR) method. Data collection was carried out through collaborative observation, participatory discussions with managers and community leaders, and joint analysis of madrasah legality documents to encourage collective reflection and action. The results of the analysis show that even though they have a Registered Certificate (SKT), madrasas still carry out very basic learning and do not have excellent programs such as teaching the yellow book, tahfidz, or Arabic. This problem is exacerbated by the limited number of teachers and inadequate facilities. As a solution, a development model was formulated that centered on curriculum diversification, the addition of religious extracurricular activities, and the development of strategic collaboration with the village government and the community. This optimization is expected to transform the status of madrasas from just legally registered to a quality and competitive religious education institution.

Abstract

Community in Seglagah hamlet, Sempu village, religious understanding among rural communities, especially mothers, needs continuous attention and improvement. The Community Service Program (KPM) provides an opportunity for Islamic Religious Education students to contribute to improving religious understanding in society. This study aims to analyze the role of KPM students in improving the religious understanding of mothers through routine recitation activities in Seglagah Hamlet, Sempu Village, Ponorogo Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with field research methods through observation and interviews. The results showed that KPM students played a significant role in improving mothers' religious understanding through the delivery of charity materials during Friday recitation activities. The increase in religious understanding can be seen from the enthusiasm of mothers in participating in activities, asking questions about religious issues, and applying religious knowledge in daily life. The KPM program proves to be effective as a bridge between academic knowledge and community needs in the field of religious education.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the synergy between Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in Sahang Village, Ngebel District, Ponorogo Regency, as an effort to strengthen religious service and nationalism. The Audience (A) of this study is the community of Sahang Village, particularly members of Muhammadiyah and NU. The Behavior (B) expected is the establishment of collaboration in education, social, economic, and youth activities. The Condition (C) of this research is implemented through the Community Service Program (KPM) using a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interviews, and documentation methods. The Degree (D) shows that the synergy between Muhammadiyah and NU can strengthen ukhuwah wathaniyah (national unity), reduce potential social segregation, and increase youth participation in religious and national activities. Thus, the collaboration of these two organizations becomes an important strategy in building social harmony and reinforcing national values at the village level.

Abstract

Islamic education in rural areas, especially in madrasah diniyah, requires continuous innovation to improve the quality of learning and student enthusiasm. The Community Service Program (KPM) provides opportunities for Islamic Religious Education students to contribute to improving the quality of learning in Islamic educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the contribution of INSURI KPM students in improving the quality of learning at Madrasah Diniyah in Ngrogung Village, Ngebel District, Ponorogo Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with field research methods through observation and interviews. The results showed that KPM students made significant contributions through the application of innovative learning methods, the use of interactive learning media, and varied teaching approaches that succeeded in increasing student enthusiasm and learning outcomes. The increase in learning quality can be seen from the active participation of students in learning, increased understanding of religious material, and positive responses from teachers and the community. The KPM program proves to be effective as a bridge between academic knowledge and the needs of Islamic educational institutions in rural areas.

Abstract

Banjari art training is one of the strategic efforts to enhance the creativity and religiosity of youth, particularly in rural areas. Sahang Village, as a region with significant potential in religious art and culture, has utilized this training activity as a medium for youth self-development to become more productive, creative, and spiritually sensitive. The implementation method was carried out through a participatory approach, involving youth organizations such as Karang Taruna and mosque youth groups. The results show an increase in youth interest in Islamic art, stronger social bonds, and the creation of a positive space for expression that helps reduce deviant behavior. Banjari art has proven to be effective as a medium for religious development as well as a means of preserving Islamic culture in modern society.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the role of parents in helping students at SD Sempu become more proficient in reading and writing, as well as to examine the forms of support provided by parents to enhance these skills. The research employed the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method, which emphasizes the formulation of strategies to promote sustainable development by focusing on the strengths and resources within the community. The participants were parents of SD Sempu students, with a focus on the students’ reading and writing abilities. The findings reveal that most SDN Sempu students receive considerable attention, guidance, and support from their parents at home to improve their reading and writing skills. Many parents enroll their children in tutoring or private lessons, yet they also continue to provide direct assistance, which is crucial for elementary school children. However, some students still face challenges in reading and writing due to a lack of parental involvement. This study demonstrates that the role of parents greatly influences children’s success in reading and writing at SD Sempu.

Abstract

This community service aims to increase students' learning motivation through tutoring programs conducted by students of the Community Service Program (KPM) in Dukuh Dayakan, Wagir Lor Village, Ponorogo. The method used is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) which consists of five stages: Discover, Dream, Design, Define, and Destiny. The results show that students are more motivated in learning, better understand the subject matter, and demonstrate improvements in confidence and independent learning skills. Moreover, this program not only benefits the students but also provides valuable experiences for KPM participants in applying their academic knowledge to real community settings. The collaborative approach between students, tutors, and the community fosters sustainable educational development and creates a positive learning environment. This indicates that the implementation of the ABCD method in tutoring activities has the potential to be replicated in other communities facing similar challenges in improving students’ learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of Belik Bening Mineral Water business in supporting Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprises (UMKM) in Sahang Village, Ngebel Subdistrict, Ponorogo Regency. The research uses a qualitative approach with the Asset-Based Community-Driven Development (ABCD) model, employing methods such as interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings show that Belik Bening helps improve the local economy by creating jobs, providing affordable quality drinking water, and strengthening the UMKM sector by utilizing local potential. The production process follows hygiene standards, including steps like filtration, sterilization, packaging, and quality monitoring. Its marketing strategy is carried out in stages, starting with local distribution, then expanding to the Telaga Ngebel tourist area, and supported by the use of digital media. Although facing challenges such as limited capital, worker skills, and market competition, the business still has great growth potential because of the availability of water resources, community and village government support, and the potential of the tourism market. Therefore, Belik Bening has the possibility to become a village's outstanding product and a means of sustainable community empowerment.

Abstract

This community service program was motivated by the low quality of institutional management and learning at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awwaliyah Hidayatut Thulab in Wagir Lor Village, characterized by limited facilities, simple organizational structure, and lack of varied teaching methods. The aim of this program is to empower the madrasah through institutional training to make it more structured, sustainable, and relevant to local needs. The method applied was Asset Based Community Development (ABCD), which consists of the stages of discovery, dream, design, and destiny. The results indicate that implementing ABCD has strengthened organizational and administrative structures, improved teachers’ teaching competence, increased community support, and enhanced students’ learning motivation. Thus, the ABCD-based empowerment strategy offers a sustainable solution for improving the quality of madrasah institutions in rural areas.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (Kuliah Pengabdian Masyarakat/KPM) is one of the manifestations of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, emphasizing community engagement and service. This article aims to describe the strategies employed by KPM students to overcome the challenges of Qur’an learning among children in Sempu Village, Ngebel Subdistrict, Ponorogo Regency. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a participatory model. Data were collected through observation, interviews with local Qur’an teachers, and documentation during the program. The subjects were eight children, consisting of two who were already reading the Qur’an and six who were still at the Iqra stage. The findings reveal significant improvements in children’s Qur’anic learning. First, their mastery of tajwid improved, particularly in applying rules of elongation and specific recitation laws. Second, the clarity of makhraj al-huruf (points of articulation) increased after intensive talaqqi practice. Third, children’s ability to write Arabic letters became neater and more accurate through step-by-step exercises. Fourth, children showed greater enthusiasm for learning, supported by stronger parental involvement. Furthermore, interviews with the Qur’an teacher highlighted limitations in time and energy for providing intensive guidance, yet acknowledged that the presence of KPM students was very helpful as motivators and technical assistants. The teacher also expressed the need for continuity after the program ends. In conclusion, the strategies of learning by doing and talaqqi were effective in improving Qur’anic learning among children in Sempu Village. The success of the program was supported by the dual role of KPM students as facilitators and motivators, and by collaborative efforts among students, teachers, and parents. This research applies the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which links research activities with processes of social change. The data were collected through field visits, interviews, observations, and analytical procedures.
