Abstract

This community service program was initiated to strengthen students’ basic Qur’anic literacy by assisting them in recognizing and reading hijaiyah letters at Madrasah Diniyah Hidayatu At Thulab Dayakan. The main objective was to overcome students’ early reading challenges while at the same time empowering the local community through the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. The program followed several stages: asset identification to map resources such as teachers, parents and available media; mobilization of these assets through collaborative meetings; capacity building for teachers and facilitators to improve phonetic skills and teaching strategies; implementation of guided reading activities in small groups and individual sessions; and evaluation to observe learning outcomes. The results demonstrated a gradual but consistent improvement in students’ ability to distinguish similar letters, articulate sounds according to correct makhraj, and memorize letter sequences more fluently. Their confidence in reading aloud also increased significantly. Furthermore, the active participation of parents. In conclusion, the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method proved not only effective in enhancing hijaiyah literacy but also successful in cultivating a sustainable culture of collaborative learning within the community.

Abstract

Karawitan is a traditional Javanese art that holds great importance in cultural preservation. However, at SDN Sahang Ngebel Ponorogo, student interest in joining karawitan extracurricular activities remains low, as many prefer other activities they find more appealing. The current teaching methods are also considered monotonous, leading to boredom and a lack of enthusiasm. In fact, karawitan is not only a musical art form but also a medium to instill cultural values, discipline, and togetherness. Through community service activities, student mentoring was carried out with two main roles: motivator and creative facilitator. As a motivator, the program aimed to boost students’ enthusiasm by providing encouragement, guidance, and appreciation so they could feel more confident and proud to take part in karawitan. Students were also made aware that karawitan is not just an extracurricular activity, but also an effort to preserve regional cultural heritage. As a creative facilitator, learning was designed to be more enjoyable using a play-based approach, such as guessing instrument sounds, rhythm relays, and introducing traditional songs accompanied by gamelan music. This approach made students feel happier, more engaged, and less bored during practice. As a result, their enthusiasm and participation increased significantly. Students who were previously uninterested became more active, gained confidence in playing instruments, and felt proud to contribute to preserving gamelan music. This program successfully fostered students’ appreciation of traditional arts while supporting cultural preservation at school.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to assist students of SDN 4 Wagirlor in memorizing the Qur’an using the Talaqqi method. The background of this activity lies in the limited reading ability of some students who, despite not being fluent in reading the Qur’an, showed strong motivation to memorize it. The program applied the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, emphasizing local assets such as Qur’an teachers, students’ enthusiasm, a supportive school environment, and the talaqqi method itself. The mentoring process was conducted through the stages of Discover, Dream, Design, Deliver, and Destiny, using talaqqi strategies based on direct interaction, verse repetition, and teacher correction. The results revealed that students found it easier to memorize by listening directly, felt more motivated when learning together, and were encouraged to complete the memorization of Juz 30. Furthermore, program sustainability was supported by the involvement of teachers, students, parents, and the school community. Thus, the Talaqqi method proved to be effective as a tahfidz learning model, enhancing students’ motivation, ability, and love for the Qur’an from an early age

Abstract

Developing disciplined character from an early age through structured religious activities is a crucial aspect of character education. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) method directly involves teachers, researchers, and students in mentoring activities. The purpose of this community service is to foster consistent worship habits in students, instill discipline through regularity in the timing and procedures for congregational prayer, and strengthen synergy between teachers, students, and the community in developing religious character. Congregational prayer is not only understood as an obligatory act of worship but also as a means of character education that fosters discipline, responsibility, and togetherness. The research results indicate that the habit of congregational Dhuhr prayer has a positive effect on developing student discipline, as evidenced by regular attendance on time, adherence to the rules of worship, and consistency in carrying out obligations together. Furthermore, this activity also strengthens religious culture within the school environment. Thus, congregational prayer can be an effective strategy for instilling discipline and fostering students' religious character.

Abstract

This study reveals that the Sempu community has low awareness of performing congregational prayers at the mosque. Although they realize that congregational prayers and the prosperity of the mosque are part of Islamic Development, in reality they do not do it. Therefore, to examine this, the author uses a PAR approach to reveal this. The formulation of the problem in this study focuses on two main aspects, namely how congregational prayers are implemented in Sempu Village, Ngebel District, Ponorogo Regency, and what obstacles the community faces in carrying them out. To answer this question, the author uses the theory of mentoring where the mentoring process involves a relationship between the mentor and the assisted party, where the mentor himself plays a role as a problem solver, encourages independence, and develops the potential of the assisted party. The research results show that the Seglagah Hamlet community still has a limited understanding of the procedures, virtues, and benefits of congregational prayer. Internal factors such as low individual awareness, laziness, and a lack of spiritual motivation are the dominant causes of community reluctance to attend the mosque. Furthermore, external factors such as busy work, environmental influences, and minimal social support also exacerbate this situation. Some people consider congregational prayer to take longer, so they prefer to pray alone at home. The lack of religious education and weak Islamic traditions in the surrounding community also contribute to low community participation. Thus, it can be concluded that internal and external factors influence each other in shaping community religious behavior. This study recommends efforts to increase religious awareness through religious education, spiritual guidance, and strengthening the role of religious leaders and Islamic institutions in society. These efforts are expected to foster motivation, broaden understanding, and encourage people to participate more actively in congregational prayers at mosques.

Abstract

The problem in Sahang Village is that jackfruit, which is abundant, is only used in traditional ways with low economic value. From this problem, the research formulates two main focuses: how the process of making Brownie x Jackfruit as a local food innovation, and what factors support or hinder its development. The purpose of this research is to know, explore, and describe the potential of jackfruit, the innovation process, and the prospects of the product as a village culinary icon. The study employed the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) approach through the stages of discovery, dream, design, and define/deliver, with data collected from interviews, participatory observation, focus group discussions (FGD), documentation, and product trials, then analyzed qualitatively using data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that Brownie x Jackfruit is well received by the community and adds value to local products, but still faces challenges such as limited equipment, packaging, and marketing strategies. Even so, the product has strong potential to support the local economy, empower the community, and strengthen the cultural identity of Sahang Village.

Abstract

The mentoring program for teachers aims to shape students' religious character through the implementation of habituation methods carried out by students of the Community Service Program (KPM) at RAM NU 152 Wagir Lor, Ngebel, Ponorogo. The method used is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), consisting of five stages: Discovery, Dream, Design, Define, and Destiny. The results show that students are able to demonstrate positive behaviors in developing their religious character, such as stronger spiritual connections with Allah SWT, patience, gratitude, obedience to parents, kind speech, and good manners. Although these changes are not yet significant, most students have shown improvements as described. Besides benefiting the students themselves, this program also provides valuable experience for KPM students in applying their academic skills in real-life settings. The collaborative approach among students, teachers, parents, and the local community fosters sustainable educational development by creating a positive and supportive learning environment. This indicates that the ABCD method approach in teacher mentoring activities has the potential to be replicated in other communities facing similar challenges in shaping students' religious character.

Abstract

This study aims to demonstrate that the integration of STEAM-based ecoprint into the Strengthening the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5) project within the Merdeka Curriculum can serve as an innovative and relevant learning approach at SDN Sahang. Ecoprint, an environmentally friendly technique that utilizes local plants and natural resources, is combined with the STEAM framework (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) to develop creative, contextual, and meaningful educational media. The research employs the ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development) method, which emphasizes the identification and empowerment of existing assets within the school and local community to support sustainable and collaborative learning. The findings reveal that the implementation of STEAM-based ecoprint not only enhances students’ creativity, critical thinking, and environmental awareness but also strengthens character values aligned with the Pancasila student profile. Furthermore, this innovation fosters interdisciplinary learning and provides a practical example of how local culture and knowledge can be integrated into modern educational practices, in accordance with the goals of the Merdeka Curriculum
