Abstract

The rapid growth of the digital economy in Indonesia brings significant challenges in the form of personal data breach risks in e-commerce transactions. This study aims to analyze the legal protection framework for consumers and the responsibility of business actors based on Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection (PDP Law). The research method used is normative juridical with a statutory and conceptual approach. The results show that the PDP Law provides a strong legal foundation through the regulation of data subject rights, data controller obligations, and strict administrative and criminal sanctions. Legal protection is carried out through preventive mechanisms such as explicit consent (informed consent) and repressive measures in the form of compensation lawsuits and sanction enforcement. However, its effectiveness still faces challenges such as low public digital literacy and the technical readiness of electronic system operators.

Abstract

The phenomenon of burnout in Christian ministry has become a critical pastoral concern amidst intensifying organizational demands and elevated spiritual expectations. Often, physical, emotional, and spiritual exhaustion are inadequately addressed, leading to their mischaracterization as failures of faith or personal spiritual deficiency. This article examines the narrative of Elijah’s exhaustion on Mount Horeb (1 Kgs 19:1–18) through a pastoral lens, employing a religious coping framework to provide a constructive theological response. By utilizing a methodology of biblical narrative analysis in dialogue with pastoral theology and empirical research on ministerial burnout, this study contends that Elijah’s crisis reflects the profound human fragility inherent in divine service. The narrative reveals a sophisticated model of religious coping mediated by the divine presence, evidenced through the validation of somatic needs, the provision of a therapeutic space for lament, and the reaffirmation of vocational identity. The findings indicate that divine restoration is not invariably manifested through spectacular interventions but through empathetic and restorative relational processes. This study concludes that the Horeb narrative serves as a vital pastoral model for the contemporary church. It challenges the prevailing culture of ministerial perfectionism and advocates for a holistic framework—integrating spiritual, psychological, and communal dimensions—to address burnout. By reframing exhaustion not as the termination of a calling but as a potential locus for theological transformation, this research offers a praxis-oriented approach for sustaining leaders in an era of increasing vocational instability.

Abstract

The problem in the study of dowry lies in the tension between normative concepts in Islamic law that emphasize simplicity and justice, and local cultural practices that often view dowry as a symbol of social status and prestige. This difference raises the need to understand how sharia norms and cultural constructions are integrated into marriage practices. This study aims to analyze dowry from the perspective of Islamic law and local culture and explain the forms of interaction between the two in the context of contemporary society. The research method used is a qualitative approach with library research that combines juridical-normative and sociological approaches. Data are analyzed descriptively and analytically to examine the concept of dowry, cultural practices, and the social dynamics that influence its implementation. The analysis results show that dowry has multidimensional functions, namely as a legal obligation, a symbol of respect, and a socio-economic instrument. The integration between Islamic law and local culture can occur harmoniously as long as cultural practices do not conflict with sharia principles, such as justice, willingness, and welfare. However, in some cases, the dominance of cultural values leads to a distortion of the meaning of dowry from its normative purpose. The contribution of this research is to offer an integrative understanding of dowry that places Islamic law and local culture within a complementary framework, making it relevant for the development of contemporary Islamic family law studies.

Abstract

Early childhood character formation is an important foundation for future human development because moral values, empathy, and social behavior begin to take shape during this time. Theoretically, character education emphasizes the integration between the aspects of moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action that are instilled through a conducive educational environment. However, social reality shows that there is a gap between the ideal concept and the conditions on the ground. Various media reports show an increase in cases of bullying, digital aggressiveness, and declining manners in early childhood influenced by unsupervised exposure to technology and weak moral examples. This condition poses a risk of emotional regulation disorders, decreased quality of social relationships, and weakening of children's religious identity. Therefore, an effective educational approach is needed to internalize character values from an early age, one of which is through the Islamic storytelling method as explained in the thought of Fāyiz bin 'Abd al-Karīm al-Fāyiz. This research uses a library research approach with primary sources in the form of the book Dawr Mu'allim at-Tarbiyah al-Islāmiyyah fī Tarbiyah a ṭ-Ṭ ullāb by al-Fāyiz, and supported by various relevant scientific journal articles. Data analysis was carried out using the Krippendorff model content analysis technique through the stages of unitization, sampling, coding, data reduction, inference, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the method of al-qiṣaṣ al-hādifah (purposeful Islamic storytelling) is effective in internalizing religious and moral values in early childhood, building empathy and encouraging behavioral transformation through emotional involvement in stories. The success of this method is greatly influenced by the role of the teacher as a mu'addib who is able to bring the narrative to life as well as become a moral example for students.

Abstract

The transformation of the concept of iddah in Indonesian marriage law has become a crucial issue in Islamic family law reform because it lies at the intersection of sharia normativity and the growing demands for gender equality in modern society. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of iddah regulations in the Indonesian marriage legal system and examine their relevance from the perspective of gender justice and maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah. The study uses a normative juridical approach with a literature study method through an analysis of Islamic legal sources, legislation, court decisions, and academic literature related to Islamic family law and gender issues. The results show that the concept of iddah in Indonesian regulations is still oriented towards classical fiqh constructions that place women as the primary subject of the waiting period obligation. However, scientific developments, changes in social structures, and increasing awareness of the principle of gender equality have encouraged the emergence of various reinterpretations of the purpose of iddah that emphasize aspects of offspring protection, legal certainty, and family welfare. This study concludes that the transformation of the concept of iddah needs to be directed towards a more contextual approach and one based on maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah so that it can maintain sharia values while accommodating the principles of justice, equality, and protection of women’s rights in contemporary Indonesian marriage law.

Abstract

The development of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) in early childhood is a crucial aspect of education, as it plays a vital role in shaping children's abilities to manage emotions, interact socially, and build character. This study aims to analyze the implementation of SEL, the school environment's contribution to SEL development, the outcomes of this development, and the supporting and inhibiting factors at RA I’Anatus Syibyan Blumbungan, Pamekasan. A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included the school principal, homeroom teachers, assistant teachers, and students aged 4–6 years. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that SEL is implemented through the cultivation of positive behavioral habits, play-based learning activities, teachers setting a good example, and a personal approach. The school environment contributes to SEL development through positive social interactions, a supportive school culture, and a physical environment that facilitates collaborative activities. SEL development has resulted in improved abilities among children to manage emotions, cooperate, show empathy, follow rules, and build self-confidence. Supporting factors include a conducive school environment, teachers serving as role models, adequate facilities and infrastructure, and parental support; conversely, inhibiting factors include excessive gadget use, diverse parenting styles, and limitations in educators' competence.

Abstract

The low level of financial literacy among Indonesians remains a significant challenge in achieving sustainable economic well-being. Most people still rely primarily on active income and consider savings as the main financial management instrument without taking into account the impact of inflation on the value of money. This community service activity aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the importance of investment and introduce the capital market as a legal, safe, and affordable investment alternative. The methods employed included interactive lectures, case studies, group discussions, and basic investment simulations. The results indicated an improvement in participants’ understanding of the Cash Flow Quadrant concept, the importance of investment in long-term financial planning, and the mechanisms of investing in the capital market. Participants also gained knowledge regarding investment risk mitigation and strategies to avoid fraudulent investment schemes. Overall, the activity successfully shifted participants’ perspectives from an active-income-oriented mindset toward a greater awareness of the importance of building assets and generating passive income through investment.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the persistently low representation of women in organizational leadership due to traditional gender bias and digital literacy challenges. The main objective of the activity is to deconstruct the understanding of women's social roles and improve the practical organizational skills of female cadres. The method applied is participatory action research (PAR) through the implementation of educational interventions, focus group discussions, and tactical simulations based on behavioral modeling (Neuro-Linguistic Programming/NLP). The main activity focuses on reconstructing the understanding of the natural values of humanity in inclusive Islam and honing digital communication skills. The impact of this activity has proven significant in increasing critical awareness, restoring self-confidence, and breaking down the internal psychological barriers (inner glass ceiling) of cadres to take on strategic roles in the public sphere. The research conclusion shows that the integration of inclusive theological understanding with tactical digital skills training is a highly effective and precise social engineering instrument in addressing the root causes of gender inequality.

Abstract

This article examines the historiographical methodology of Muhammad bin Jarir al-Ṭ abarī in Tārīkh al-Rusul wa al-Mulūk by highlighting the relationship between the hadith tradition and the construction of classical Islamic history. This research departs from the methodological problem of early Islamic historiography which relies on narration, especially the use of sanad as the basis for the legitimacy of historical truth. The research method used is qualitative with a historical-textual approach and content analysis. This study does not dissect the entire volume of Tārīkh al-Rusul wa al-Mulūk, but focuses on the purposive textual samples in the early part of the book, particularly the narrations of Qabil and Habil, which show the use of sanad, the plurality of versions of the narration, and the differences in the matans in a single event. The data were analyzed through four categories, namely the structure of the sanad, the content of the matan, the narrative presentation pattern, and the methodological attitude of al-Ṭ abarī towards different narrations. The results of the study show that al-Ṭ abarī positioned himself as a compiler historian who maintained the mandate of transmission by presenting various versions of history without always giving an explicit assessment of the matan. This approach confirms that the historiography of al-Ṭ abarī operates within a framework of classical Islamic epistemology that prioritizes sanad authority over historical causality analysis. On the one hand, this model reinforces the integrity of transmission and opens up a space of plurality of historical narratives; On the other hand, he presents methodological limitations in the form of inconsistent internal criticism of the content of history. The novelty of this article lies in the reading of sanad not only as an instrument of verification, but also as a narrative strategy and legitimacy of scholarly authority in classical Islamic historiography. These findings enrich the discourse of Islamic historiography by placing al-Ṭ abarī's work as an epistemological transition space between the hadith tradition and systematic historical writing.

Abstract

The challenges of family resilience in the modern era require a deep understanding of the determining factors of household harmony, especially within specific subcultural communities such as Islamic boarding school (pesantren) alumni. This study examines the determinants of household harmony among pesantren alumni, focusing on modern challenges to family resilience. Specifically, it analyzes differences in family harmony based on four variables: marriage contract authority, the couple's alma mater background, the partner selection method, and marriage duration. Employing a quantitative comparative design, this research involved a sample of 42 pesantren alumni (N = 42) selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an adapted Family Harmony Scale (FHS-24) and analyzed using independent sample t-tests and one-way ANOVA. The inferential analysis reveals significant differences across the observed variables. First, couples married by a Kyai exhibit higher harmony scores than other groups. Second, couples sharing the same pesantren alma mater score significantly higher than those from different backgrounds. Third, regarding partner selection, self-chosen couples show higher harmony scores, followed by pesantren matchmaking, while family matchmaking scores the lowest. Lastly, differences were observed based on marriage duration, where the moderate-duration group scored higher compared to newlyweds and long-married groups. This study suggests that among the surveyed pesantren alumni, variance in family harmony is closely linked to both individual agency in partner selection and specific socio-religious factors, such as the blessing of religious authority and a shared educational background.
