Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the effect of leadership and organizational support on the performance of Community Protection Unit (Satlinmas) members, with work motivation as a mediating variable. This research focuses on Satlinmas members in Ngariboyo Sub-district, Magetan Regency. This study employs a quantitative research design using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis technique. The population consists of 125 respondents, and a census sampling method was applied. The respondents are all Satlinmas members assigned in five villages within Ngariboyo Sub-district, Magetan Regency. The findings indicate that leadership and organizational support have a significant effect on both work motivation and performance of Satlinmas members, either directly or indirectly. Work motivation also plays a mediating role in strengthening the influence of leadership and organizational support on performance. These results confirm that improving Satlinmas performance is strongly determined by the quality of leadership, organizational support, and work motivation in carrying out community protection duties. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for local government, Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and Fire Department, and village administrations in improving guidance, support systems, and the effectiveness of Satlinmas members.

Abstract

Work productivity is an important indicator in assessing workforce performance, including non-civil servant employees (Non-ASN) who play a strategic role in supporting the implementation of government institutional functions. This study aims to analyze the effect of compensation, work discipline, and job satisfaction on the work productivity of Non-ASN employees at the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office (PUPR) of Madiun City, both partially and simultaneously. This research employs a quantitative approach with an associative causal research design. The research population consists of all Non-ASN employees at the PUPR Office of Madiun City, totaling 162 individuals, with a sample of 115 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. Research data will be collected through questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS software. Based on theoretical frameworks and previous empirical studies, this research proposes the hypothesis that compensation, work discipline, and job satisfaction are expected to influence the work productivity of Non-ASN employees. This study is expected to contribute theoretically to the development of human resource management studies in the public sector and practically serve as a reference for the PUPR Office of Madiun City in formulating policies to improve the productivity of Non-ASN employees

Abstract

Language operates not only as a communicative tool but also as a marker of class and a gateway to social mobility. This study examines how phonetic change and idiolectal shift function as determinants of social mobility in George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion. Using a qualitative textual analysis design, the play is read through sociophonetic theory integrated with sociological criticism, Marxist literary criticism, and Bourdieu's notion of linguistic capital. Data were drawn from dialogues, phonetic spellings, and character interactions that reveal pronunciation change, idiolectal development, and class relations, then interpreted in three stages: identification, interpretation, and synthesis. The analysis shows that Shaw represents accent as a decisive marker of class, with Eliza Doolittle's Cockney speech initially fixing her working class position and shaping others' perceptions of her. Through Higgins's phonetic training, Eliza acquires not only a prestigious accent but a broader idiolectal shift in vocabulary, communicative style, and confidence, functioning as linguistic capital that grants her temporary access to elite society. However, language alone cannot dissolve structural inequality: Eliza continues to face uncertainty about identity, independence, and full social acceptance. Pygmalion thus portrays language as both an instrument of empowerment and a mechanism that reproduces class hierarchy.

Abstract

This study proposes a conceptual framework for sustainability accounting grounded in Islamic values of love and compassion (mawaddah and rahmah). Employing a qualitative library research methodology, the study synthesizes classical Islamic sources—the Quran, Hadith, and juristic principles—alongside contemporary sustainability literature encompassing GRI standards and ESG frameworks. The analysis identifies five foundational elements of an Islamic sustainability accounting framework: (1) accountability toward all of creation (rahmah); (2) balance across economic, social, and environmental dimensions (tawazun); (3) intergenerational compassion (maslahah and amanah); (4) transparency as an expression of love and honesty (sidq); and (5) ethical consumption and production (qana'ah and itqan). The proposed framework is not merely normative but offers actionable sustainability reporting indicators applicable across diverse organizational contexts. This study contributes an epistemological dimension to Islamic accounting theory by integrating spiritual and ethical values into sustainability reporting practice, thereby enriching the broader discourse on accountable, inclusive, and equitable sustainable development.

Abstract

Generative artificial intelligence has changed how people access, interpret, and evaluate religious information. This article examines the transformation of religious authority in the ChatGPT era through digital hermeneutics and Murtadha Muthahhari’s epistemological perspective. The study uses qualitative library research with an interpretive-philosophical approach. Primary sources are selected works by Muthahhari, while secondary sources address digital religion, algorithmic mediation, large language models, AI ethics, and contemporary debates on religious authority. ChatGPT outputs are treated as secondary interpretive material, not as authoritative religious sources. The analysis finds that AI produces three interconnected shifts: wider access to religious information, more dialogical and personalized interpretation, and a growing risk that fluency and accessibility will be mistaken for authority. From Muthahhari’s perspective, information processing cannot be equated with religious knowledge because reason, revelation, experience, moral responsibility, and spiritual formation are interconnected. ChatGPT can therefore serve as an epistemic and interpretive aid, but not as an autonomous religious authority. The article proposes a human-in-the-loop model of digital religious literacy in which AI supports exploration and learning, while qualified scholars and users remain responsible for verification, contextual interpretation, normative judgment, and ethical consequences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and reconstruct legal protection for trademarks and geographical indications (GI) in Tenun Sulaa products as part of intellectual property that possesses economic and cultural value. The research method employed is normative legal research using statutory and conceptual approaches. The findings indicate that, normatively, Law Number 20 of 2016 on Trademarks and Geographical Indications has provided a comprehensive legal basis for the protection of trademarks and geographical indications as instruments of legal branding for local products. However, its implementation still faces several obstacles, including low public legal awareness, the suboptimal process of geographical indication registration, and limited institutional capacity in managing and protecting GI-based products. Therefore, reconstruction of legal protection is required through strengthening the geographical indication registration system, increasing local community participation as collective rights holders, and integrating trademark and geographical indication protection within regional product branding strategies to enhance local identity, improve regional economic competitiveness, and preserve traditional cultural heritage.

Abstract

The tradition of seclusion (kahiya) prior to marriage is still practiced by the community of Wambuloli Village, Central Buton Regency, as part of customary norms aimed at preserving the honor and preparedness of prospective brides. However, in its implementation, several customary practices raise concerns regarding their conformity with the principles of Islamic law. This study aims to analyze the forms of implementation of the seclusion (kahiya) tradition and to examine these practices from the perspective of Islamic law. This research employs a qualitative method with a normative-empirical approach. Data were collected through observation, structured interviews, and documentation involving traditional leaders, religious figures, and women who underwent the seclusion process. The data were analyzed using descriptive-analytical techniques through the stages of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the seclusion tradition contains positive values, including the preservation of honor and the mental preparation of prospective brides; however, certain practices such as the neglect of religious obligations and specific symbolic beliefs potentially conflict with the principles of Islamic law. This study concludes that the seclusion tradition may continue to be preserved provided that adjustments are made to ensure alignment with the principles of public benefit (maslahah) and the fundamental values of Islamic law. This research emphasizes the importance of dialogue between customary traditions and religion in maintaining a balance between cultural preservation and the application of Islamic law.
