This study aims to identify the strategies used by Islamic Religious, Education (PAI) teachers in fostering students’ morality at SMP Negeri 12 Konawe Selatan, to describe the formas of mora ldevelopment impelemnted, and to analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique consisted of three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification.  To ensure data validty, the researcher applied source triangulation, technique triangulation, and time triangulation to obtain objective and reliable findings. The findings show that PAI teachers apply several strategies, including exemplary modeling, giving advice, habituating students to attend Dzuhur prayer in congregation, collaborating with school counselors and other staff, and involving parents.  Forms of moral development include respect for teachers, discipline, honesty, participation in religious activities, and preventing bullying behavior. Supporting factors include collaboration ith parents and cooperation among teachers. Inhibiting factors include limited instructional time for Islamic Religious Education, and low student awareness of the importance of moral education. This study is expected to serve as an evaluation reference for PAI teachers and school in designing more effective and sustainable moral development strategies. The novelty of this research compared to previous studies on PAI teachers’ strategies lies in its focus on examining the strategies of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in fostering students’ moral character through exemplary behavior, advice strategies, habituation of congregational Dhuhr prayer, collaboration with counseling teachers and school authorities, as well as parental involvement in students’ moral development at SMP Negeri 12 Konawe Selatan. Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Aqidah Akhlak learning and the role of teachers in managing teaching and learning activities in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The research was conducted in three Madrasah Ibtidaiyah located in the Pondok Aren area, South Tangerang City. The research method used was a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through direct observation of the learning process in the classroom. The observation focused on lesson planning, lesson implementation, the role of teachers as role models of morals, classroom management, learning evaluation, as well as obstacles and efforts of teachers in implementing learning. The results showed that the planning of Aqidah Akhlak learning had been well prepared in terms of objectives, materials, and methods, although the use of learning media still needed to be developed. The implementation of learning was structured and conducive, with teachers able to create an active, enjoyable, and meaningful learning atmosphere by relating the material to the students' daily lives. Teachers also played an effective role as role models of good character, were able to manage the classroom in an educational manner, and carried out comprehensive learning evaluations that covered cognitive aspects and changes in student behavior. However, this study found challenges in the form of limited learning media and variations in methods, so that more interactive learning development is needed so that the implementation of Aqidah Akhlak learning can run more optimally and have a sustainable impact on the character building of students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effects of various forms of assessment on learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) through a meta-analysis approach. IRE learning outcomes are understood as integrated learning achievements encompassing the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The meta-analysis was conducted on 15 quantitative research articles published between 2018 and 2025 that met the inclusion criteria, including experimental, quasi-experimental, and correlational designs. Effect sizes were calculated using Cohen’s d and Hedges’ g to determine the magnitude of the impact of each assessment type on IRE learning outcomes. The results indicate that, overall, assessment types have a positive effect on IRE learning outcomes, with an average effect size of 0.546, which falls within the moderate effect category. Formative assessment based on feedback and performance-based assessment demonstrate the strongest effects, classified as large effect sizes, whereas conventional cognitive assessments such as quizzes and homework assignments show relatively small effects. Based on educational level, the impact of assessment on IRE learning outcomes is most significant at the senior high school (SMA/MA) level compared to elementary (SD/MI) and junior high school (SMP/MTs) levels. These findings underscore that the effectiveness of assessment is largely determined by its alignment with the holistic objectives of Islamic Religious Education. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening the implementation of authentic, reflective, and formative assessments in Islamic Religious Education learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of Quizzi AI as a pedagogical tool designed to improve educational outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) among Year 11 students at SMAIT Harapan Bunda, Semarang. The research employed a quantitative methodology using a quasi-experimental framework, incorporating pre-test and post-test assessments administered to 64 participants categorised into two instructional modalities: traditional learning and Quizzi AI-enhanced learning. The research instruments comprised an academic performance assessment and an observational tool designed to evaluate students’ motivation and engagement during the PAI instructional process. The findings revealed a significant improvement in average student performance, rising from 64.2 in the pre-tests to 89 in the post-tests following the integration of Quizzi AI into the educational experience. This increase is further evidenced by a rise in the percentage of academic adherence, alongside heightened enthusiasm and active participation among students during educational activities. Consequently, the application of Quizzi AI demonstrates its effectiveness as an interactive educational tool capable of optimising PAI learning outcomes at secondary education level. The implications of this study indicate that the application of Quizzi AI not only improves student learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education subjects but can also serve as an interactive learning model that fosters active student participation, motivation, and enthusiasm. This provides a foundation for educators to integrate gamification-based educational technologies into the curriculum, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of learning at secondary school level.

Abstract

Education is the defining factor of a civilisation; it has evolved over time through a variety of concepts. In the early days of Islam, the concept of lifelong learning was already being practised. This concept was embedded in the intellectual life of the Muslim community, as evidenced by the learning activities undertaken by the Prophet and his companions. In the modern world, this concept has been widely introduced and promoted by national and international organisations, yet its implementation remains limited to conceptual frameworks and the preparation of supporting facilities. This study aims to examine in greater depth the application of the concept of lifelong learning within the tradition of Islamic education. This study examines the practice of knowledge transmission during the time of the Prophet. The research was conducted by examining hadiths that describe the learning processes taking place amongst the Companions from various backgrounds. The results of this study indicate that the practice of lifelong learning was already in place during the time of the Prophet; this was manifested through education that transcended age, social status, geography, and gender, as well as through lifelong learning. This research demonstrates that the practice of lifelong learning was already being practised by the Companions; it is not a new concept of the modern era, but has been part of the Islamic intellectual tradition for centuries

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers' knowledge, obstacles in utilization, and educational administrative support regarding the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based learning media at MIN 3 Bandar Lampung. The study specifically involved 35 teachers at MIN 3 Bandar Lampung, with 10 teachers selected as the main informants through purposive sampling based on their involvement and experience in the learning process and the use of digital learning media. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results indicate that teachers’ understanding of AI is still limited to general technological introduction, without sufficient understanding of adaptive functions and learning personalization as the main characteristics of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Although several teachers have utilized AI-based platforms such as Quizizz, Canva, and Google Forms, they were not fully aware of the AI elements embedded within these platforms. The implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is also constrained by limited infrastructure, low digital literacy, lack of training, administrative burdens, and the absence of institutional policies supporting AI integration. Schools have mainly provided moral support without systematic policies or continuous training programs.  This study concludes that the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at MIN 3 Bandar Lampung remains at an early stage. Therefore, strengthening AI literacy, improving infrastructure, providing continuous training, and establishing targeted institutional policies are necessary to support effective learning transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to examine educational staff’s perceptions of the Muhammadiyah Tarjih Decisions Compilation (HPTM), their understanding and practice of worship in accordance with the HPTM, as well as the reinforcement of Islamic values in line with the HPTM, and to identify the factors influencing the understanding and perceptions of educational staff at Muhammadiyah University (UM) Kendari. This study employs a mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data were collected via a Google Forms survey, while qualitative data were confirmed through in-depth interviews. Quantitative data analysis utilized descriptive statistics, whereas qualitative data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research findings indicate that the majority of educational staff at UM Kendari hold positive, albeit diverse and varied, perceptions of HPTM. This is evident in their religious practices and work ethic, which align with Muhammadiyah’s religious teachings. These positive views are demonstrated by their familiarity with, knowledge of, understanding of, and practice of HPTM, as well as their strong work ethic and commitment to fulfilling their duties both on campus and within the community. However, there are still educational staff who are unaware of what HPTM is and have limited knowledge of its content. This is influenced by factors such as educational background, the intensity of religious guidance, and access to HPTM resources. This study implies that educational staff at UM Kendari should enhance their capacity and understanding of HPTM through formal Muhammadiyah training programs and regular religious study sessions. Thus, HPTM is not merely understood in a normative sense but is also practically implemented in daily life across various aspects of living
