Abstract

Pesantren (Islamic Boarding) is the oldest educational institution in Indonesia which has a role in character education. The main purpose of this study was to understand leadership style of teachers (clerics) in character education as well as the process to produce competent believers. Religio-paternalistic leadership is based on the value of total admission of religious and educational methods, with emphasis on the application of knowledge resulting believers’ faith and fear of Allah guided by the Quran and Sunnah. To obtain data, the author employed interview, observation and documenter. The Darussalam Gontor Islamic Boarding School in East Java was the field-site of this research.-----Pondok Pesantren merupakan lembaga pendidikan paling tua di Indonesia memegang peran penting dan strategis dalam pendidikan karakter. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memahami gaya kepemimpinan (kyai) dalam pendidikan karakter serta  prosesnya sehingga dapat menghasilkan  mu’min yang kompeten. Kepemimpinan religio-paternalistic didasarkan atas nilai-nilai keagamaan dan metode pendidikan totalitas. Totalitas dalam mengutamakan pengaplikasian semua ilmu pengetahuan sehingga menghasilkan mukmin yang beriman dan bertakwa kepada Allah Swt. dengan berpedoman pada al-Qur’an dan as-Sunnah. Penulis focus pada pendidikan karakter berbasis pesantren. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, observasi dan documenter. Lokasi penelitian di Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Gontor, Jawa Timur Indonesia

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of principalâ??s academic supervision on the quality of the school, the influence of pedagogical competence on the school quality, and the influence of principalâ??s academic supervision and pedagogical competence collectively to the quality of the school in Senior High School in East Lampung Pekalongan District.The approach in this research is quantitative approach, there are three variables, namely the academic supervision (X1), the pedagogik competence (X2), and the school quality (Y). The population in this research is 79 teachers, while the sample in this research is 44 teachers. The main method of collecting data used is questionnaire or questionnaire. Data analysis techniques in this study using simple linear regression analysis and multiple regression analysis.

Abstract

This article focuses on the role of Islamic Higher Education in ecnoutering globalization. In this study, the authors suggest that in order to support the efforts for development and progress of a nation, Islamic Higher Education must have a link between the world of science, technology, and the needs of a society. These efforts are visible by fostering and producing qualified human resources, having knowledge and technology insight with a provision of faith piety that remains based on religious values, morals, and noble morals in accordance with the norms of religious and governmental rules so as to master, develop and apply what is gained from Islamic higher education. Vision and mission of Islamic Higher Education are achievable with strong lingkage among lecturers and students, employees and graduates are implemented in accordance with the objectives and demands of th stakeholders or markets.

Abstract

Motivated by the problems of the quality of learning. To improve the quality of teaching carried out by teachers, through educational supervision. The research was conducted in SMA and SMK in Abung Semuli Subdistrict, Lampung which aims to describe the Principal's knowledge regarding the role of supervisor and to know the Implementation of Academic Supervision in Improving the Quality of Teacher Learning. Research using a qualitative research approach with phenomenological theory. Conclusions: Principals of SMA and SMK in Abung Semuli District, Lampung have good knowledge of academic supervision as evidenced by the supervision of these schools. Implementation of Academic Supervision in Improving the Quality of Learning Indonesian language teachers using individual techniques in the form of class visits begins with making a supervision program containing planning, preparation, implementation, evaluation.
