Abstract

Motor response speed is one of the basic abilities that determine a player's proficiency in table tennis, as the nature of the game requires quick decision-making and reaction in rapidly changing situations. This research aims to design a training program using a short ball and analyze its impact on developing motor response speed among youth table tennis players (17–19 years old). The researcher adopted an experimental approach using a single-group approach with pre- and post-tests. The sample included 12 players from a youth league club. The training program was implemented over eight weeks, with three sessions per week. Field-approved response speed tests were used, in addition to video recording and analysis of performance. The training sessions included exercises based on the use of a short ball in various positions and rapidly changing scenarios, with the aim of stimulating the motor nervous system to respond immediately. The results showed a significant improvement in the post-test results compared to the pre-test results, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed training program. The research highlights the importance of customizing training programs according to the specificity of the targeted skill and the nature of the competitive situation, and recommends implementing the program in youth training centers to develop response speed skills. The researcher also recommends conducting future studies on different age groups and incorporating new training methods such as virtual reality to enhance training effectiveness.

Abstract

This research aims to design a scientific test to measure the on-field decision-making speed of youth football players using real, illustrated playing situations (photos and video clips). The research adopted a descriptive-experimental approach, and (30) youth players from Anbar Governorate, aged between 18 and 21, with at least three years of coaching experience, participated in it. A test was designed that included (12) illustrated playing situations taken from official matches, depicting offensive and defensive situations requiring immediate decisions. These were displayed on a large screen within a structured testing environment. Response times for each situation were determined in seconds, and decisions were recorded by having players select one of several options associated with each situation. The validity of the test was verified by presenting it to a group of experts, and reliability was calculated using a test-retest. The results showed a statistically significant correlation coefficient. The results showed that players in offensive positions were faster in making decisions than their defensive colleagues, reflecting differences in mental processing speed depending on the tactical tasks. The study concludes that the video test can be used as an objective and practical tool to assess players' field intelligence. It can also be used in player selection and the design of cognitive training programs aimed at improving decision-making speed under pressure. The study recommends developing interactive digital versions of the test and using them to assess the development of mental performance during various training phases.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the impact of an educational approach based on Kolb's theory of experiential learning on developing motor coordination and learning the skills of the smash and block among students in the targeted academic year. Kolb's theory is a modern educational theory that emphasizes that learning is an ongoing process based on direct experience, reflection, conceptualization, and active experimentation, which enables students to participate and be active participants in the learning process. The research problem is that traditional teaching methods in the field of physical education may not take into account individual differences among students and do not provide them with sufficient opportunities for practical experimentation and analysis. This weakens their ability to acquire basic skills in sports, especially volleyball, which requires a high level of motor coordination and precision in performance. The research also aims to develop an educational approach based on Kolb's theory, identify the extent of this approach's impact on developing motor coordination among students, and measure the approach's impact on learning the skills of the smash and block compared to traditional methods. The importance of this research lies in its aim to introduce a modern educational approach to physical education teaching, one that helps connect practical and theoretical aspects and enhances student participation in building their motor skills, thus contributing to improved learning of complex volleyball skills. The researcher relied on designing an educational approach consistent with Kolb's four stages of theory (concrete experience, observation and reflection, conceptual abstraction, and active experimentation) and applying it to a sample of students.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to: design educational units according to the strategy of selective thinking supported by hypermedia and design educational units according to hypermedia and identify the effect of the strategy of selective thinking supported by hypermedia in developing the performance of the most important basic skills in football for students and identify the effect of hypermedia in developing the performance of the most important basic skills in football for students. And identify the significance of the differences between the three research groups (the control group and the two experimental groups) in the results of the post-tests. The researcher used the experimental method by designing equivalent groups, as shown in the experimental design of the research. The researcher used the experimental design with two experimental groups and one control group. The research community consisted of second-grade students at Tariq Bin Ziyad Intermediate School for Boys, Diyala Governorate Education Directorate, for the academic year 2024-2025, numbering (93) students, so that the number of sample members became (60) students, constituting a percentage of (64.51%) of the original community, who were randomly divided by lottery into three groups, a control group and two experimental groups, with (20) students for each group. The researcher then conducted equivalence and prepared learning units according to the first and second experimental groups. A post-test was then conducted, followed by a statistical kit. Conclusions were reached, the most important of which is that using a hypermedia-supported selective thinking strategy significantly improves students' performance in basic soccer skills, such as passing, dribbling, and scoring. One of the most important recommendations is the need to apply a hypermedia-supported selective thinking strategy to teaching other sports skills, not just soccer, to enhance learning effectiveness.

Abstract

The research aims to understand the educational role of the physical education teacher in identifying differences in the average scores of school violence and the theoretical average of the scale, as well as identifying differences in the average of school violence according to the variable of type of violence (physical - verbal), and identifying differences in the average of school violence according to the variable of gender (male - female students). The researcher used the descriptive approach using the survey method. To achieve this, the researcher used the questionnaire as a tool to collect data and information from a random sample of (20%) of the research community, which numbered (750) male and female physical education teachers in the Diwaniyah Education Directorate, who were regularly attending the official school year (2022-2023). Accordingly, the sample size reached (150) male and female physical education teachers, with (100) male teachers, which constitutes (67%) of the research sample, compared to (50) female teachers, which constitutes (33%) of the research sample. Appropriate statistical methods were used for the current research, and the research results showed the presence of school violence among primary school students, as it came with a larger arithmetic mean. From the theoretical mean of the scale used to measure it, the percentage of physical school violence was generally higher than that of verbal school violence among elementary school students. The average level of school violence among male students was higher than the average level of school violence among female students, meaning that male students were more violent than female students.
