Abstract

Background: Indonesia faces health challenges, especially with the increasing prevalence of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM), particularly among adolescents. The National Diabetes Statistics Report (2017) reported a DM prevalence of 7.2% among children and adolescents in 2015, while data from the Cimahi Health Department (2023) showed a 20% increase in DM cases among adolescents over the past two years. Objective: To assess the feasibility of an interactive educational website for Type 2 diabetes prevention at SMAN 4 Cimahi using the 4D approach (Define, Design, Development, Dissemination). Methods: This study used the 4D approach, involving define, design, development with material testing, media testing, small-scale trials, and statistical analysis using a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design, with a sample of 81 respondents and dissemination Results: Analysis revealed that students required an interactive educational website on Type 2 diabetes. The website was designed with menu navigation features, relevant images, and compatibility for both smartphones and laptops, with a blue color theme and sans-serif font. The statistical tests indicated the media was highly feasible and had a significant impact on adolescents' knowledge for Type 2 diabetes prevention. The media can be accessed via the provided link. Conclusion: The interactive educational website for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is highly feasible and accessible via the link (https://instingku-e718a.website.app/).

Health promotion media are essential for educating people, especially those aged 18-64, on diabetes prevention. YouTube Shorts is an effective medium due to its accessibility, enhancing attention to health information. Purpose: To produce YouTube Shorts as health promotion media regarding diabetes mellitus prevention for the audience and subscribers of the Smart Generations of Reality YouTube channel. Method: The research type utilizes Research and Development (R&D) with a 4D development model (define, design, development, disseminate). Result: The define stage revealed that the Smart Generations of Reality channel audience lacks awareness of diabetes prevention. The target audience prefers anime-style YouTube Shorts, which match their characteristics. The "entertain to educate" method is used for media delivery. The design stage includes pre-production, production, and post-production. The development stage involves expert validation and user testing, indicating high feasibility. The disseminate stage involves YouTube distribution. Conclusion: YouTube Shorts media for diabetes mellitus prevention is highly feasible to be used as an educational medium. Recommendations: Further research is needed to test the effectiveness or develop YouTube Shorts videos on diabetes mellitus prevention and use more current media relevant to the times for optimal results.

Data collection techniques come from primary and secondary data.During the comprehensive care process, problems were found during pregnancy, namely frequent urination at night, which can be overcome by counseling to reduce drinking at night. During labor, there was a precipitous labor for ≥ 3 hours, the baby was born spontaneously and cried immediately, the placenta was born spontaneously and no placental remains were found. During the postpartum period, there was breast congestion and it was felt that breast milk production was low so lactation massage care was given. The goal of this study is to assess the impact of KOMECA media on healthy eating habits among SMPN 12 Cimahi teenagers in relation to their awareness of diabetes mellitus prevention initiatives. Method: This study used a quantitative approach based on a pre-experimental design, especially a one-group pretest-posttest layout. Professional simple random sampling, a method of probability sampling, was used to choose the sample. The Wilcoxon test was used to analyze the data. Also, the 4D model was used for media creation. Results: The average level of knowledge among students rose from 55.54 to 83.84 after being exposed to the KOMECA (Kotak Inviting Reading) media. Conclusion: After receiving the KOMECA (Kotak Inviting Reading) media, there was a 51% increase in awareness about the importance of good eating habits in preventing diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Lipemic serum is characterized by its turbid appearance, resulting from elevated concentrations of lipoproteins, particularly chylomicrons and very low-density lipoproteins (VLDL). This turbidity can interfere with the accuracy of total bilirubin measurements, leading to potentially inaccurate results. To mitigate this issue, polyethylene glycol (PEG) is often used as a clarifying agent. This study aims to evaluate the differences in total bilirubin levels in lipemic serum before and afterthe addition of 10% polyethylene glycol 6000. This quasi-experimental research uses a one group pretest-posttest design. conducted in May 2024 at the Clinical Chemistry Laboratory, Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, Bandung Health Polytechnic. A total of 30 serum samples from hospitals in Bandung were combined to make pooled sera, then modified to be lipemic using egg yolk until the triglyceride level reached 991.5; 1002.8; and 1067.8 mg/dL.Total bilirubin levelswere measured both before and after the addition of polyethylene glycol, with initial levels recorded at 1.62, 2.64, and 3.58 mg/dL, and post-PEG levels at 2.40, 3.30, and 4.35 mg/dL. Statistical analysis using a paired sample t-test revealed a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference in total bilirubin levels before and after the application of polyethylene glycol in lipemic serum.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes melitus does not only occur in adulthood, but also occurs in adolescence. Data in Indonesia in 2018 with Diabetes melitus patients with the age category of 15 years amounted to 159,014 people. The number of cases in Cimahi City in 2018 was 3,601 cases, thus the need for knowledge of adolescents regarding the prevention of Diabetes melitus, so as to reduce the morbidity rate of non-communicable diseases. Based on the results of the research, animated video educational media can increase adolescent knowledge. Objective: To determine the feasibility of "CERDIK" animated video education media on the prevention of type 2 Diabetes melitus using the 4D approach. Method: to prove the feasibility of media use, a define, design, development approach is carried out with material tests, media tests, small-scale tests, and statistical tests with a quantitative approach using pre-experiments with a one-group pretest-posttest design on 81 students, and dissemination. Results: Analysis of the needs of students regarding the need for media in the form of animated videos, the resulting media is 4.33 minutes long, media development is feasible and has an effect on student knowledge, and the media can be accessed via links and Youtube. Conclusion: The educational media animated video is worth using and can be accessed at youtube.
