Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus data for West Java is 863,903 in 2023. So the number of Diabetes Mellitus sufferers seen from year to year in the city of Bogor is 111,577. The data for 2023 is the highest. The number of diabetes sufferers at Posbindu Teratai is 25 people. Objective: Develop clever video media to prevent diabetes. Method: Development of RND with a 4D model includes a total sampling technique and data collection is carried out using in-depth interviews. Results: At the Define stage, media is needed that is interesting, informative, images that can move and also bright colors. In the Design stage, video media was used using the Canva application, capcut with a duration of 4 minutes 2 seconds. In the Development stage, material experts tested with 90% results, media experts with 96% results and development trials with 98% results, meaning the media was "very feasible used". At the Disseminate stage it is distributed using the YouTube application. Conclusion: Define requires media that is interesting, informative, images that can move and also bright colors. In the Design stage, video media was used using the Canva application, Capcut with a duration of 4 minutes 2 seconds. In the Development stage, material experts, media experts and development trials were tested. At the Disseminate stage it is distributed using the YouTube application.

Abstract

Background: In 2022, there were 44,329 persons with diabetes mellitus in the city of Bandung and Coblong District with 2,032 people with diabetes mellitus. This is a lack of an unhealthy lifestyle. Therefore, the overcoming of the problem of diabetes mellitus can be done through health promotion about the prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus through animated videos that have novelty of material with 3 healthy steps to prevent type 2 diabetes mellitus that are informative, varied characters, and duration, so that they can convey information that attracts the attention and focus of students. Objective: To develop animated video media as a prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adolescents in grade XI with 4D development (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). Methods: This research included R&D applying a 4D model. The research subjects were taken by probability sampling technique  of 78 teenagers in class XI at SMAN 19 Bandung. Results: The material feasibility test by material experts showed a result of 93.75%%, media experts 100%, and media users 96% with a very feasible category. Conclusion: Animated video media is declared very feasible to be used as a prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adolescents in grade XI.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus is one of the global health problems that is increasing in prevalence, including among adolescents. The unhealthy lifestyle of adolescents is a risk factor that needs to be addressed. One potential approach in prevention efforts is through health education. Monopoly media (Healthpoly) emerged as an attractive alternative media to deliver health information to adolescents. Objective: To develop monopoly media with PPE model and analyze the effect of Healthpoly media on knowledge about adolescent lifestyle in preventing diabetes mellitus at SMAN 5 Cimahi. Methods: This study used a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental method and media development Planning, Production, and Evaluation (PPE) model. The research subjects were selected by purposive sampling technique totaling 90 students of class X and XI located at SMAN 5 Cimahi held on May 29, 2024. Results: The media developed through the PPE model is monopoly media (Healthpoly). The average pretest was 77.72 with a good category and the average posttest was 97.71 with a good category but there was an average increase of 26%. Hasil analisis menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon dengan hasil menunjukkan p value 0,000. The results of the analysis using the Wilcoxon Test with the results showed a p value of 0.000. Conclusion: There is an effect of monopoly educational media (Healthpoly) on knowledge about adolescent lifestyle in the prevention of diabetes mellitus at SMAN 5 Cimahi. Recommendation: This study can be developed in further research by considering other health materials.

Abstract

Non-Communicable Diseases Indonesia a health problem and cause of death. Diabetes is health problem continues to increase cases every year. In 2022, diabetes in West Java was 644,704 people, in Bandung 2022 there were 45,465 people. According Riskesdas 2018, the age of >15 years has increased to 10.9% and 49.6% of adolescents don’t implement healthy nutritious diet. The largest constumer fast food is teenagers recorded at 69%. Factors can effect risk type 2 diabetes are due to lack of knowledge a balanced nutrition. E-booklet to be effective in increasing knowledge about balanced nutrition in adolescents. Develop media on adolescent knowledge effort to prevent type 2 diabetes with 4D approach. The research use R&D with a 4D media development model (Define, Design, Develop, Dissemination). The research was conducted at Mekar Arum School, with sample of 88. The define stage produces media need according to characteristics the target, the design stage contains media design matrix, the development stage carried out material, media tests, small-scale tests with very feasible results, and statistical tests produce an average adolescent knowledge score before being given e-booklet media by 66.8. The average knowledge score after being given e-booklet media was 86.4. The percentage increase knowledge adolescents was 29%. The p value of adolescents knowledge before and after being given e-booklet media was (p=0.000). The media made in category of very suitable for use and significant increase in knowledge after being educated on the balanced nutrition diet e-booklet media as effort to prevent type 2 diabetes.

Abstract

Background: The prevalence of diabetes mellitus among adolescents under 18 years old has increased 70-fold from 2010 to 2023. Diabetes mellitus patients in the age group 5-14 years in West Java reached 12,806 people, followed by 12,409 patients in the age group 15-24 years. The prevalence of diabetes mellitus in Cimahi City for the age group ≥15 years is 675 people (2.29%). Health promotion through motion graphic video media is considered effective for educating adolescents as a measure to prevent diabetes mellitus. Objective: To develop motion graphic video media on a healthy lifestyle as a measure to prevent diabetes mellitus at SMP Negeri 12 Cimahi. Methodology: This study used the ADDIE model, including qualitative research with in-depth interviews with 5 eighth-grade adolescents selected by purposive sampling. Quantitative research was conducted with 1 content expert, 1 media expert, and 66 students selected based on proportional random sampling using feasibility test questionnaires. Results: Needs analysis revealed that students want comprehensible material, attractive media displays with bright colors, short duration, and music that supports the media's theme. Planning was structured in the form of storyboards and processed using Canva, Capcut, and Adobe Enhance. Feasibility test results showed content feasibility of 93% and media feasibility of 90%, both categorized as very feasible, and user feasibility of 79%, categorized as feasible. Conclusion: The motion graphic media on a healthy lifestyle is "feasible" to be used as educational media to prevent diabetes mellitus among junior high school adolescents.

Abstract

Background: In 2022, diabetes mellitus patients in the Babakan Tarogong Community Health Center area rose from 782 to 788, with 304 receiving standard health services. Based on the Indonesian Minister of Health Regulation Number 4 of 2019 concerning Minimum Service Standards in Health, every diabetes mellitus patient receives healthcare services through the community diabetes control program as a secondary prevention effort to reduce the risk of complications. One standard healthcare service for secondary prevention, which needs to be developed through engaging media at the Babakan Tarogong Public Health Center for Prolanis patients, is health education. Objective: To determine the effect of WhatsApp broadcast media on Prolanis patients knowledge about preventing the risk of diabetes mellitus complications. Methodology: This study uses a quantitative pre-experimental design in the form of a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population consisted of 16 Prolanis patients with diabetes mellitus, all of whom were included in the study sample. Analysis was performed using parametric statistics with the Paired t-test. Results: The WhatsApp broadcast media, Sawala Boga Aksi, was developed based on needs analysis and validated with very feasible scores: 94% from content experts and 93% from media experts. The average knowledge score of the target group before the intervention was 81.25, which increased by 16.25 to 97.50 after the intervention. The significance value (2-tailed) was 0.000 < 0.05. Conclusion: There is an effect of education through WhatsApp broadcast on Prolanis patients knowledge about preventing the risk of diabetes mellitus complications at the Babakan Tarogong Community Health Center.

Abstract

Background: The prevalence of DM sufferers in 2022 is 644,704 people with an average annual value of 874,422.75 in the last 4 years who suffer from DM. The highest incidence of DM in Bandung City in 2022 was in Arcamanik, Central Antapani District at 40.78% (18,527 people). For this reason, preventive measures are needed, one of which is education (health education). Objective: Develop a Balanced Diet e-Booklet media as an effort to prevent diabetes mellitus among teachers at PGTK Anak Ceria Bandung which is suitable for use as a health education media. Method: research method applies the ADDIE methodology to research and development techniques. The total population is 18 teachers at PGTK Anak Ceria Bandung. Results: The Balanced Diet e-Booklet media is in the form of a digital book which is uploaded via the heyzine.com page. Obtained a score of 94. 2% in the Material Experts' very good category and 96.2% in the Media Experts' very decent category. Using the Balanced Diet e-Booklet media has a 63% boost in influence. Conclusion: The Balanced Diet e-Booklet media is in the form of a digital book. The media was declared very good and very appropriate by the Expert and there was an influence of providing the Balanced Diet e-Booklet media to teachers at PGTK Anak Ceria Bandung.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus, also known as "The Silent Killer," is one of the chronic non-communicable diseases. There was a drastic increase in the number of child diabetes cases in Indonesia in January 2023, totaling 1,645 patients. The rise in childhood diabetes is associated with poor lifestyle habits and obesity, which are the highest risk factors for diabetes in children. Objective: To enhance students' knowledge about CERDIK to prevent Diabetes Mellitus at SMAN 15 Bandung. Methods: This study employed a mixed-method approach with a sequential exploratory design. The research subjects were 80 tenth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Knowledge data were collected using questionnaires and interviews, then analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The study results showed an increase in students' knowledge scores by 80 points. Based on the analysis test, a significant value of 0.000 was obtained for knowledge, indicating <0.05. Conclusion: There is an influence of animated video education on CERDIK knowledge to prevent diabetes mellitus among students. Recommendations: Add variations in evaluation methods and expand research to different age groups and backgrounds to ensure the generalization of findings and explore the long-term impact of using animated videos as a health education medium.

Abstract

Background: Non-communicable diseases are one of the leading causes of death in Indonesia. One of the main non-communicable diseases is diabetes mellitus. Data on diabetes mellitus in Indonesia in 2018 amounted to 1,017,290 cases. In 2022, the West Java Health Office found a total of 644,704 people with diabetes cases. The prevalence of DM cases in Purwakarta district is 12,446 people, while cases in Purwakarta sub-district are 2,682 cases. Riskesdas shows that the proportion of diabetes mellitus in children aged ≥15 years and older reaches 159,014 people with diabetes mellitus. Objective: To determine the influence of 3 in 1 e-booklet media on knowledge about snack consumption in efforts to prevent diabetes at SMPN 1 Purwakarta. Methods: The study used a quantitative method with a PPE media development model and a one-group pretest-posttest design. The number of samples was 87 students of SMPN 1 Purwakarta, the sampling technique used probability sampling. Results: The study using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was obtained through a comparison of pretest and posttest scores in the invergence group which showed a p value of 0.000 < 0.05. Conclusion: There was a significant increase in knowledge between before and after the intervention through the 3-in-1 e-booklet media on the knowledge of SMPN 1 Purwakarta students about healthy snack consumption.

Abstract

Background:  The prevalence of diabetes melitus in Indonesia is 1,017,290, West Java in 2022 is 2,124,068, Cianjur in 2023 is 13,400, and the Sukasari Cilaku health center area is 650, thus it is necessary to increase knowledge about the causes, which are closely related to unhealthy eating behavior. Based on the results of research, augmented  reality-based e-booklet educational media can help increase adolescents' knowledge. Objective: To determine the feasibility  of augmented reality-based e-booklet educational media with a 4D approach. Methods: Research methods with a 4D approach, namely, define, design, development with material tests, media tests, small-scale tests and statistical tests with a quantitative approach using a type of quasi experiment research with a one-group pretest-posttest design design to 81 students, as well as dissemination. Results: Needs analysis based on a preliminary study of media, the goal requires material that is outlined in  augmented  reality-based e-booklet educational media, with A5 size, consisting of 20 pages, blue, in which there are materials and pictures, and using Indonesian. Development with statistical tests obtained media suitable for use and has an influence on knowledge. Media can be accessed via links and qr codes. Conclusion: Augmented reality-based e-booklet educational media  is feasible and can be accessed at the https://bit.ly/ebookletpolamakansehat link.
