Abstract

One model recommended for implementing the independent learning curriculum is the problem-based learning model. Problem-based learning is a learning model that prioritizes solving general problems that commonly occur in everyday life. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of using a problem-based learning model in problem-solving abilities and physics learning outcomes in high school. This research uses the Meta Analysis method with data analysis techniques for calculating effect size. The sample used for this research consisted of 20 article items that already had an ISSN. The results of the research that has been carried out can be concluded several things as follows; 1). The average effect size of the problem-based learning model on problem-solving abilities is 1.94. Meanwhile, student learning outcomes were 1.51 which was included in the high category. This means that the application of problem-based learning is effective on student problem-solving abilities and learning outcomes; 2) The most suitable learning material for problem-based learning is Static Fluid material with an effect size of 3.50; 3) Based on the class level that effectively uses the problem-based learning model, namely at the high school class XII level with the high category, the effect size is 1.91.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia is now demanded to be even better in terms of student learning outcomes. Therefore this article was created with the aim of providing references related to learning models which in practice have been proven to improve student learning outcomes in schools. On this occasion the researcher only chose one learning model, namely Discovery Learning. Researchers conducted research using the meta-analysis method, which is an effort to summarize various research results by studying 6 data documents related to the use of Discovery Learning models published in national journals. The Discovery Learning learning model refers to students who are active and creative, because the Discovery Learning learning model expects each student to be able to master the learning material taught by educators. Because the learning model of Discovery Learning places more emphasis on students' direct experience and prioritizes the student learning process compared to the learning outcomes of these students

Abstract

Increasingly advanced technology requires teachers to continue to update and use technology as well as possible in the learning process. Physics learning which is synonymous with theory and concepts and has an abstract impression on class XII material is an opportunity for teachers to utilize technology in making worksheets by applying the numbered head together (NHT) learning method in practice. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles in class XII MIPA 3 SMAN 1 Jember with data collection techniques using pre-test and post-test. Applying the NHT method means providing opportunities for all students in the class to exchange opinions and have the courage to express their opinions in groups and in front of the class which will motivate students' learning as well. Through the application of the NHT method, students' cognitive learning outcomes (n-gain) were obtained in cycle I of 0.17 in the low category (not yet significant) and in cycle II of 0.61 in the moderate category (significant enough). Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is an increase in n-gain acquisition which indicates an increase in cognitive learning outcomes of students in class XII MIPA 3 SMAN 1 Jember

Abstract

Linear program is one of the materials that high school students study. This material is one of the materials that students often find difficult to understand, because basically a linear program is a way to get the best results from a mathematical model consisting of linear relationship. Students often experience problems understanding the steps to find a set of solutions to a linear programming problem. Therefore, as an effort to increase students' interest in linear programming material, this paper discusses the use of GeoGebra as a mathematics learning medium that can be used to help high school students understand linear programming material. This research is a type of quantitative research with quasi-experimental (quasi-experimental), with the population of all classes XI IPA SMA Negeri 11 Medan and the samples of this study were taken as many as two classes from the class XI IPA , which is the class XI IPA 4 as the class of Experiment I and XI IPA 3 as the class of Experiment II. The method of data collection is through a non-test in the form of a questionnaire instrument to determine the student's interest in two classes before and after treatment is given. So that the average N-Gain score was obtained at 0.47 which, if translated into a classification, then the average increase in motivation to learn mathematics among students in this test is in the "moderate" category. With GeoGebra, students can visualize the obtained linear equations and their set of solutions. By looking at the visualization, it is expected that students will be more interested in learning mathematics, especially linear program material

Abstract

Local wisdom is a view of life, knowledge, understanding and belief as well as habits carried out by local people in the form of activities. Local wisdom of the Situbondo people is defined as activities owned by the Situbondo people which have been proven to be preserved until now. One example is petik laut tradition. Petik laut tradition is a traditional ceremony or ritual performed by throwing offerings into the sea. There are many physical concepts in Petik laut tradition so that the integration of petik laut local wisdom into physics learning in high school is very necessary. This study aims to analyze the physical concepts that exist in petik laut tradition that can be used as learning resources in high school. This research is a qualitative research. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and literature study. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results of this study were obtained from petik laut tradition by identifying physics concepts, especially in Newton's II and III Laws, Pressure, Archimedes' law and waves. Thus, the analysis of physics concepts in petik laut tradition can be used as an alternative source of learning physics in high school

Abstract

The 2013 Curriculum System requires students to play an active role in the learning process at school and study independently. So it is necessary to have learning media that can help students understand chemistry learning. Chemistry is a natural science that is both a product and a concept so that learning can be done through practicum activities. Practicum activities require a device as a guide in scientific work called a practical guidebook. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, which describes descriptively the results of the analysis carried out. The stages are as follows: the interview stage was conducted with Chemistry subject teachers to obtain data in the form of the use of practicum instructions that have been used so far and hopes for improvement. The second stage of the analysis was carried out using a questionnaire given to students to see how the practicum teaching and learning process was doing at school so far. This research involved students of class XI IPA Al-Azhar Private High School Medan. Based on the results of the research and discussion that have been described, it is concluded that the chemistry practicum guide that has been used so far at Madrasah Aliyah Al Washliyah Kedaisianam has not met the criteria. In the implementation of chemistry practicum students have not used a special practicum module, but only used the modules available in the package book

Abstract

This study aims to explain the benefits of Canva, namely to train creativity in making mind maps for physics students. Canva is an application that allows users to create designs online. To access Canva, users can use cellphones, computers, laptops or tablets. The method used in this study is a qualitative method. Data collection techniques are carried out by tri-anggulation (combined) in the form of literature reviews by collecting data, especially verbal data through books, articles, notes, and various other scientific literature. The research population is all students of the physics tadris study program. The research sample is a fourth semester student of the physics tadris study program in the course of measuring instruments and physics instrumentation UIN Syahada Padangsidimpuan. The instrument used to determine the benefits of canva is a test of mind map making practices. The results showed that Canva can train students' creativity in making mind maps

Abstract

Student learning outcomes can be influenced by internal and external factors. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in student learning outcomes with inquiry-based learning and the effect of age and motivation on learning outcomes. The research population was all students of chemical tadris who were taught atomic structure in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The sample of this research was all chemistry students at UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addry Padangsidimpuan with a total of 23 students. Analysis of research instruments and testing the research hypothesis using the SPSS 22 for windows program. The results showed that student learning outcomes increased with learning inquiry and age and motivation factors did not affect student learning outcomes where Sig. (2-tailed) > α (0.938 > 0.05) and (0.513 > 0.05) means that the hypothesis is rejected with a significant level of 5%.

Abstract

In the context of this discussion, research was conducted to understand the challenges in understanding basic mathematics among students majoring in civil and mining engineering. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews and tests to provide a comprehensive view. The questionnaire results revealed that most students felt confident in some aspects of basic mathematics, but some felt insecure with obstacles such as difficulty understanding concepts, difficulty remembering formulas, and lack of rigor. Interviews provided additional insights by revealing the reasons behind the level of confidence or lack of confidence. Test results showed that the majority of students still needed to improve their understanding of basic mathematics, and none were able to answer all questions correctly. In addition, there was a relationship between school of origin and test results, although most students came from senior high schools. Therefore, improvements in learning strategies and additional support are needed to help all students improve their understanding of basic mathematics, regardless of their school of origin, with the aim of improving their success in civil and mining engineering studies. As such, these results provide a foundation for improvements in the learning of basic mathematics, involving improvements in the way the material is taught, special attention to the most difficult-to-understand concepts, and support for students facing difficulties, to ensure better understanding of basic mathematics for all students.

Abstract

The Osing Traditional House is the original traditional cultural architecture of Osing Banyuwangi which has existed since the 18-20 centuries until now. The Osing Traditional House was built based on traditional and hereditary function and philosophy values. Their knowledge of the Osing Traditional House so far is just a habit, even though what they applied in building the house contains a scientific concept. The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of moment of force, moment of inertia, and balance of rigid bodies in the Osing Traditional House. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using the Content Analysis method approach. Data collection is done by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique is using content analysis with 6 stages namely Unitizing, Sampling, Coding, Reducing, Infering, Narrating). Based on the analysis results, in the components of the Osing traditional house, several physics concepts are found, namely the concept of moment of force, moment of inertia and balance. The concept of a stylistic moment in the Osing traditional house can be seen in the doors in the Osing traditional house. The moment of inertia in the Osing traditional house can be seen in the lower structure or the singing. The roof structure of the Osing Traditional House. If the log is at rest, then the log is in translational and rotational equilibrium. The results of this study are expected to explain the ethnoscience of the Oing Traditional House and can be a source of learning physics
