Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning quality of the Literary Expression course using the TikTok application as a learning medium in the application of the PjBL model to the seventh semester students of the Indonesian Language Education Study Program FKIP Bengkulu University. The assignment of making this TikTok video is an implementation of the PjBL model where students not only perform analysis but also explore, collect information, interpret, and assess. This research was conducted in two cycles. The results of this study indicate that the use of the TikTok application as a learning medium in the application of the PjBL model can improve student learning outcomes. The achievement targets were obtained in cycle II with the following details: 15 students or 42% got category A, 17 students or 47% got category B, 4 students or 11% got category C, and none or 0 students got category D. The results of the response questionnaire showed a final score of 24 .61 or obtained an average of 4.1 which means that the category most chosen by students is agree. These results indicate that the implementation of the project assignment of making short stories expressing videos using the TikTok application is of interest to students. Not only reaching aspects of knowledge implementation but also increasing students' creativity and interest in learning activities.

Abstract

This article discusses the lexical variations of the Javanese language in traditional snack name in Palang subdistrict, Tuban Regency. The reason for choosing this object of research, is to explain the dialect variation especially in traditional snack naming among the society and to explain the reasons of lexical variation. This article focusses on two research questions, (1) Lexical variation on traditional snack name in Palang subdistrict, Tuban Regency, (2) The causative factor of lexical variations. This research used qualitative descriptive. The data of 45 gloss traditional snack name were collected through 19 observation point from 19 village in Palang subdistrict using field method and proficient method. The research funding of this article found the lexical variations on traditional snack naming are as follows; 1) Group without variation (22 gloss), 2) Group with variations (18 gloss) which consists of 2, 3, 4 and 6 form of lexical variations. The causative factor of the lexical variations due to the way of living and geographic factor.

Abstract

It has been almost two years that learning has been carried out online, resulting in students being less social and learning is dominated by individual learning. Therefore, it is necessary to apply group learning to overcome this. However, these lessons cannot be simply applied and need to be analyzed. One of these analyzes is to find out the responses of students and teachers. The purpose of this study was to describe the perceptions of teachers regarding cooperative learning during online distance learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is a descriptive research using survey method. The research instrument was in the form of a questionnaire filled out by 71 teacher respondents. The results showed that several important aspects of cooperative learning were the number of group members, group determination, the media used, and group assessment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and describe Dian Purnomo's authorship style in the novel Perempuan yang Menangis kepada Bulan Hitam  (PMBH) based on symbols of sexual violence against women. The use of diction, sentence style, and imagery is examined using stylistic analysis. The results of this study indicate that there are three stylistic forms, namely diction, sentence style, and imagery. Based on the results of this study, it is stated that Dian Purnomo's authorship style in the PMBH novel is in the style of Proletarian Fiction (Social Protest Fiction). Dian Purnomo, through this novel, reveals the reality that is happening in the Sumba community regarding the Marriage Catch tradition. In this tradition, many women are victims of sexual violence and hatred. Dian Purnomo prohibits protests customary rules and rulers.

Abstract

The purpose of this development research is to develop online media in learning to write criticism and essays in universities. The results of observations on students' ability to write literary criticism are still low. Based on this, it is necessary to develop and design instructional media that complement the course of writing criticism and essays. The research and development that the author will do is using the ADDIE method with the KIK─IRMA model step. The results and conclusions of the study are: 1) based on expert validation, it is concluded that the media writing criticism and essays in terms of material, media and language is very valid, so that the media can be used. 2) based on the student assessment, the developed media is classified as practical, so that the media can be used, 3) After it is declared fit for the trial, the media is then tested using the KIK─IRMA model step on an individual scale and on a field scale. After the individual and field trials were completed, the level of effectiveness and practicality was obtained. Based on the results of the pretest and posttest cognitive, psychomotor, and affective aspects of this learning media are classified as effective and practical to use.

Abstract

    Biographies are very important to be given to students so that the exemplary in the text can inspire and motivate students. The purpose of this study was to describe the increased abilities and activities of SMA N 2 Indramayu students in learning biographical texts through PowToon media. This study used a nonequivalent control group design. This design involved two groups, namely the trial group and the comparison group, namely class X MIPA 1 totaling 36 students and X MIPA 2 totaling 36 students. The research instruments used were tests (pretest and posttest), observation sheets, questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the IBM SPSS 25 application program, namely the data normality test and the Wilcoxon test. The results of the study showed that there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes in the trial class through PowToon media compared to the comparison class. The average learning outcomes for the trial group reached 85.5, while the comparison group obtained a less significant increase compared to the trial class, which was 66. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test, it was known that Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) has a value of 0.000 <0.05 which means it is rejected and accepted. That is, there is a difference between learning outcomes in the final test of the pilot class and the comparison class.
