Abstract

This study aims to examine and describe Dian Purnomo's authorship style in the novel Perempuan yang Menangis kepada Bulan Hitam  (PMBH) based on symbols of sexual violence against women. The use of diction, sentence style, and imagery is examined using stylistic analysis. The results of this study indicate that there are three stylistic forms, namely diction, sentence style, and imagery. Based on the results of this study, it is stated that Dian Purnomo's authorship style in the PMBH novel is in the style of Proletarian Fiction (Social Protest Fiction). Dian Purnomo, through this novel, reveals the reality that is happening in the Sumba community regarding the Marriage Catch tradition. In this tradition, many women are victims of sexual violence and hatred. Dian Purnomo prohibits protests customary rules and rulers.

Abstract

The main aim of this research is to elaborate the narrative structure of digital prose across various online platforms and examine how digital media characteristics influence storytelling forms. A qualitative approach and the integration of Gérard Genette’s structural narratology with Marie-Laure Ryan’s transmedial narratology are applied. The object of this research is the selected texts from Wattpad, Webtoon, Fizzo, and Karyakarsa. The findings of this research show that digital prose tends to apply linear yet accelerated and fragmented narrative structures, characterized by dominant internal focalization and homodiegetic narration to enhance reader engagement. Furthermore, each platform shapes narrative configuration differently. For example, Webtoon emphasizes multimodal and spatialized storytelling, Wattpad facilitates participatory, community-driven narrative; third, Fizzo promotes compressed, fast-paced storytelling; and fourth, Karyakarsa integrates a narrative production with social and economic interaction. These results reveal that digital prose is not simply an extension of printed literature, but it is a platform-dependent narrative form which is shaped by the interaction between textual strategies (narratology structure) and technological affordances (transmedial narratology). This study contributes to digital narratology by highlighting how platform features actively reconfigure narrative structures and reader–text relationships in contemporary storytelling.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang mengkaji struktur naratif prosa digital berdasarkan teori Gérard Genette dan Marie-Laure Ryan. Tujuannya mendeskripsikan struktur naratif serta pengaruh platform digital dalam prosa Diamnya Istriku karya Rena Ariana di Fizzo. Data menunjukkan adanya aspek order, duration, frequency, mood, dan voice, dengan dominasi prolepsis, summary, repetitive, internal focalization, dan homodiegetic narrator. Selain itu, ditemukan karakteristik digital seperti Narrative  Across Media, multimodalitas, serialitas, fragmentasi, dan interaktivitas. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa medium digital tidak hanya sebagai sarana publikasi, tetapi juga membentuk pola, struktur, dan pengalaman penceritaan secara signifikan.
