Barista : Jurnal Kajian Bahasa dan Pariwisata (ISSN 2356-1602; e-ISSN 2622-5999) is a peer-reviewed journal which is published by Unit Bahasa, Politeknik Pariwisata NHI Bandung, Indonesia. Barista aims at initiating and stimulating advances in Language and tourism research. Therefore, it publishes papers that promote new ideas, models, approaches, and paradigms by contributing to the advances in knowledge and theory of Language and tourism. The scope of this journal are: (1) Foreign Language Study and teaching; (2) Study of Indonesian Language, Regional Language and or its teaching; (3) Study of the development of tourism in Indonesia; (4) Study of tourism material, and; (5) Study of tourism HR development. The journal covers applied research studies and review articles, both in a format of the full-length articles and research notes. Applied research studies are expected to examine relationships among variables relevant to langage and tourism by employing appropriate analytical or statistical techniques. High-quality review articles that address the latest advances and develop theoretical knowledge or thinking about key aspects of hospitality and tourism are accepted. Research notes are short articles that report advances in methodology, exploratory research findings or extensions / discussions of prior research. Barista will also welcome commentary in response to published articles.

Abstract

This paper aims to investigate feedback content in order to improve the development of the student thesis. This case study used a qualitative design that used multiple data collected from nine participants (six supervisors and three supervisees). Data were obtained from the textual evidence of the student thesis drafts and in-depth interviews with nine participants. The data were analyzed by labeling, categorizing and comparing similarities and differences in order to discover patterns and identify meanings. The results show that corrective feedback on the writing mechanism makes less contribution to improving student thesis. Feedback of praise and criticism does not make a contribution to improving student thesis. Specific, descriptive and suggestive feedback on the concept and order of ideas indicates a significant improvement in the development of the student thesis. The paper concludes that the feedback received from the supervisors determines responses to improve the quality of the student thesis.

Abstract

The research aims to determine tourist perceptions about the service quality at tourist attraction Tahura Djuanda Bandung. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The sources of this study are respondents who are a tourist that have visited THR Ir. Djuanda Bandung. The respondents' will fill out a self-administrated questionnaire as they finished walking around at THR Ir. Djuanda Bandung. The number of respondents is 103 people that were determined by the accidental sampling technique. The descriptive analysis uses a mean measuring instrument to determine the average of respondent answers for each question of all variables, every dimension, and the indicator of a variable. To classify the mean of respondents' answers, the class interval method is chosen. In this study, according to the perceptions of tourists who were respondents, based on a value of dimensions of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangible, the level of service quality at Tahura Djuanda, as one of the tourist attractions in Bandung, proofed as a good category. One line above the medium classification and one line below the excellent classification. The dimension of reliability/trust is the highest dimension that has perceived value of tourist satisfaction by 3.71 on a scale of 1 to 5 and included as a good category. However, the empathy dimension is the lowest dimension of tourist perception value, with a value of 2.96, and becomes the average category. Based on gender, the male tourists' perception of the service quality in Tahura Djuanda is lower than the female tourists' perception. Based on the tourist origin, the foreign tourists' perception about the quality of Tahura Djuandas' service is higher than the tourist from Bandung.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan kontribusi terhadap pemanfaatan rumput laut yang diolah menjadi tepung karagenan sebagai pengganti pektin untuk pembuatan selai buah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan bahwa tepung karagenan yang berasal dari tumbuhan rumput laut memiliki fungsi yang sama dengan pektin dan dapat menjadi bahan pengganti dalam pembuatan selai buah. Pada penelitian ini, penulis akan menggunakan metode eksperimental yakni metode percobaan dan observasi sistematis terhadap objek eksperimen, hanya beberapa faktor saja yang diamati dan dikenakan perlakuan-perlakuan tertentu dengan kondisi-kondisi yang dapat dikontrol sehingga penulis bisa mengamati proses eksperimennya. Jenis selai buah yang digunakan adalah selai nanas karena nanas merupakan buah yang paling umum digunakan dalam pembuatan selai buah. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah tepung karagenan memiliki fungsi yang sama dengan pektin untuk proses pengentalan pada selai buah dan untuk uji organoleptic (rasa, tekstur, aroma dan warna), selai buah yang menggunakan 50% tepung karagenan memiliki selisih rata-rata yang kecil dibandingkan dengan selai yang menggunakan 100% pektin.

Abstract

Abstrak Dengan rangka mendukung kebijakan Pemerintah mengenai pengembangan Bali baru, diperlukan kajian mengenai over tourism sebagai bentuk rencana antisipasi kerusakan destinasi wisata. Bertujuan untuk menemukenali akibat yang disebabkan oleh melonjkanya jumlah pengunjung di Pangandaran. Dengan metode penelitian kualitatif didapatkan hasil bahwasanya terdapat beberapa faktor yang terjadi di kawasan wisata Bahari Pangandaran yaitu lonjakan pengunjung disetiap akhir pekan dan melebihi jumlah masyarakat lokal itu sendiri, ketidakmampuan bangunan utama dalam menampung jumlah wisatawan. Mulai timbul rasa tidak nyaman oleh masyarakat yang bermukim dekat dengan kawasan wisata. Isu pengaturan alur wisatawan merupakan solusi dalam permasalahan lonjakan wisatawan. Kata Kunci : Over Tourism, Lonjakan Kunjungan, Pengaturan Alur Wisatawan. Abstract In order to support the Government's policy regarding the development of a new Bali, it is necessary to study over tourism as a form of plan to anticipate damage to tourist destinations. Aims to identify the consequences caused by the increasing number of visitors in Pangandaran. With the qualitative research method, the results show that there are several factors that occur in the Pangandaran marine tourism area, namely the surge in visitors every weekend and exceeding the number of local people themselves, the inability of the main building to accommodate the number of tourists. People who live close to tourist areas begin to feel uncomfortable. The issue of regulating the flow of tourists is a solution to the problem of tourist surge. Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian mengenai bagaimana melihat permasalahan pada restoran di Kabupaten Bogor untuk mencapai suatu kepuasan pelanggan serta terciptanya suatu Customer Loyalty dilihat dari berbagai aspek yaitu, 1). Kualitas makanan, 2). Variasi makanan, 3). Variasi minuman, 4). Kualitas pelayanan, 5). Sikap dan keramahan karyawan, 6). Kualitas suasana, dan 7). Aspek Kebersihan. Komponen – komponen tersebut menjadi pembentuk kepuasan pelanggan yang menjadi fokus penelitian ini. Untuk itu, penelitian ini membahas tingkat pengaruh antara kualitas makanan dan dinescaspe terhadap kepuasan pelanggan Restoran di Kabupaten Bogor. Pengujuan tingkat pengaruh antar komponen tersebut mempunyai tingkat urgensi yang tinggi pada industry restoran mengingat persaingan bisnis di bidang restoran semakin kompetitif dalam memenuhi kebutuhan pengalaman wisatawan di Kabupaten Bogor. Penelitian terdahulu banyak yang melakukan penelitian bagaimana pengaruh makanan, layanan, dan image restaurant terhadap kepuasan seperti peneliti Kisang Ryu, Hyerin Lee, dan Woo Gon Kim (2012), Jay Kandampully, dan Hsin Hui (2007). Pada umumnya kajian – kajian tersebut belum ada yang mengkaitkan secara comprehensive sesuai tema penelitian ini. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian eksplanatori, yaitu penelitian yang bertujuan menganalisis hubungan-hubungan antara satu variabel dengan variabel lain atau bagaimana suatu mempengaruhi variabel lain. Penelitian ini mengambil populasi data tamu yang peneliti sebarkan kuesionernya selama 5 bulan terakhir yaitu jumlah atau dari periode bulan Agustus -Desember. Jumlah populasi pada penelitian ini berdasarkan data yang diperoleh peneliti adalah 7.954 pelanggan dengan ukuran Sample 381 memakai rumus Slovin.

Abstract

Millennials are highly potential for being targeted as tourists in Garut Regency. This quantitative study, therefore, was aimed at analyzing the interests of millennial tourists in Garut Regency. The results found that the millennial tourists’ interest in Garut Regency with the highest value is the socioeconomically introverted. This shows that even though considered as young tourists and having high productivity, the millenn ial tourists, in conducting tourism activities, are still influenced by the desire to refresh, have fun, socialize, and take advantage of their spare time.

Abstract

The development of digital technology which is rapidly growing provides great opportunities for entrepreneurs in the tourism sector to market their products and services digitally. In addition to reducing promotional costs, utilizing digital technology can also increase tourism marketing one step higher. Digital technology allows tourists to know clearly and completely related tourist destinations (DTW). Today's developing technology also provides opportunities for tourists to be able to enjoy and experience DTW directly from their respective homes with very real visuals. Social media, websites, AR and VR, provide opportunities for tourists to be able to get clearer information related to DTW. This study aims to determine how to optimize digital technology for gastronomic tourism.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism is an activity of applying the idea of ​​sustainable development, there has been change in tourist behavior from passive to active tourists. Tourists are no longer satisfied just being an observer but are more interested in experiencing, this is the main idea in the concept of experiential tourism, with the application of this concept many tourist destinations experience a sustainable tourism cycle. This research tries to examine the concept of experiential tourism using the tourist on site experience model, the aspects studied include activities, resources, and conceptions in the Pecinan Lasem area. Lasem has a big potential for historical buildings, acculturation of Chinese and Javanese culture, tolerance of religions from Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam which produces Lasem Batik wrapped into a tourist activity. This research using a descriptive method with qualitative approach. The research show that Pecinan Lasem can be said as an experiential tourism seen from the historical buildings that have become icons of acculturation of Chinese and Javanese culture to the tourism activities it offers.

Abstract

This study aims to look at the public sentiment represented by Twitter users regarding tourism during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data is taken using Drone Emprit Academic in the form of archives or written documents, images, or video recordings that are produced, distributed and responded to by Twitter social media users. The results showed that people did not pay more attention to tourism during the pandemic. The developing narrative related to the topic of tourism during a pandemic is an appeal and an invitation to follow health protocols from government accounts, namely the police and local governments. In addition, people still have a fear of doing tourism activities during a pandemic even though the pandemic has hit for one year.

Abstract

Terpuruknya citra, pariwisata, dan perekonomian Bali pasca tragedi Bom Bali I yang terjadi di area legian menggugah banyak pihak untuk melakukan beragam proyek penyembuhan. Salah satu yang dilakukan berasal dari Yayasan Mudra Swari Saraswati melalui Ubud Writers and Readers Festival. Nyatanya kini Ubud Writers and Readers Festival telah berkembang begitu besar dan perjalanannya selama dwi windu (2004-2019) telah berdinamika. Berangkat dari hal tersebut, penelitian ini ingin menjawab bagaimana dinamika makna Ubud Writers and Readers Festival yang nampak dalam perjalanan dwi windu tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang berpacu kepada pengamatan langsung, pengamatan terlibat, dan wawancara mendalam serta juga dibubuhi hasil literatur. Penelitian ini mengambil perspektif dari ruang lingkup Yayasan Mudra Swari Saraswati maupun Ubud Writers and Readers Festival dan mengesampingkan perspektif dari participant. Dinamika makna Ubud Writers and Readers Festval tersebut dapat dibagi ke dalam tiga babak, yaitu; periode awal sebagai usaha untuk mengembalikan citra Bali, Peralihan sebagai momentum untuk membesarkan diri, dan akhir yang mana Ubud Writers and Readers Festival sudah begitu besar sebagai arena pemahaman dan pembelajaran.
