Barista : Jurnal Kajian Bahasa dan Pariwisata (ISSN 2356-1602; e-ISSN 2622-5999) is a peer-reviewed journal which is published by Unit Bahasa, Politeknik Pariwisata NHI Bandung, Indonesia. Barista aims at initiating and stimulating advances in Language and tourism research. Therefore, it publishes papers that promote new ideas, models, approaches, and paradigms by contributing to the advances in knowledge and theory of Language and tourism. The scope of this journal are: (1) Foreign Language Study and teaching; (2) Study of Indonesian Language, Regional Language and or its teaching; (3) Study of the development of tourism in Indonesia; (4) Study of tourism material, and; (5) Study of tourism HR development. The journal covers applied research studies and review articles, both in a format of the full-length articles and research notes. Applied research studies are expected to examine relationships among variables relevant to langage and tourism by employing appropriate analytical or statistical techniques. High-quality review articles that address the latest advances and develop theoretical knowledge or thinking about key aspects of hospitality and tourism are accepted. Research notes are short articles that report advances in methodology, exploratory research findings or extensions / discussions of prior research. Barista will also welcome commentary in response to published articles.

Abstract

Research and studies on the participation of a community in development programs, including tourism generally lead to the conclusion of the position and depth of the community in implementing development: is it still an object of development, has it been included them as the actors involved in planning, or has more deeply by taking part in the policy-making and management processes. This tendency to determine the position of involvement is only able to explain the position and/or performance of the community in the ladder of participation, participation spectrum, or type of participation, but cannot explain why a community group can be actively involved in development and others cannot. This paper is a theoretical study of the concept of social capital that can be used as an analytical tool to answer these questions. A sharper and more comprehensive understanding of this concept, academically and practically is needed to encourage tourism development at the community level.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji potensi wisata dan strategi pengembangan wisata di Desa Lambangjaya. Perbedaan penelitian ini dengan penelitian lainnya adalah lokasi penelitian yang diangkat merupakan lokasi penelitian yang belum pernah ditinjau dalam aspek pariwisata. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi yang dimiliki Desa Lambangjaya sebagai daya tarik pariwisata, serta strategi pengembangan pariwisata secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang memaparkan keadaan pariwisata di Desa Lambangjaya menggunakan analisis SWOT dengan mengkaji faktor internal dan eksternal. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, wawancara dan studi kepustakaan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Desa Lambangjaya memiliki potensi pariwisata berbasis alam, budaya dan masyarakat. Strategi pengembangan Desa Lambangjaya yaitu menjaga kelestarian dan memanfaatkan potensi desa untuk dijadikan daya tarik wisata guna memikat kunjungan wisatawan. Stategi pengembangan Desa Lambangjaya lainnya juga dilihat dari aspek 3A (Atraksi, Aksesibilitas dan Amenitas); SDM, Masyarakat dan Industri; serta strategi pemasaran BAS (Branding, Advertising dan Selling).

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a broad impact on the global tourism world since the end of 2019. Data shows that international tourist arrivals declined sharply in the first half of 2020 (-65%) compared to 2019. The strategy has been implemented by various special countries, the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism proclaimed the principle of Adapting to New Habits (AKB) in the Indonesian tourism industry as an integral part of the permit to reopen tourism businesses and destinations. The IMR principles in Indonesian tourism are applied from a strategic and technical perspective as well as from supply chain changes to the needs and demands of the management of tourists. This research was produced to be able to see the readiness of tourist destinations in the region, especially Tourism Villages in dealing with the Covid-19 situation and conditions with several strategies that have been set by the central government starting from CHSE and digitalization for Tourism Villages. This study used a quantitative research method with a description that describes each goal starting from the 3A condition, the Health Protocol, and its digitization. This mapping is very important to determine the direction of the potential development of Cihanjawar Tourism Village as a tourist destination

Abstract

During the pandemic covid-19, tourists tend to prefer outdoor tourism and natural tourism (adventure) including tourism in tourist villages. This condition opens the opportunity for homestay owners in the tourist village to prepare homestays that can guarantee a sense of security for tourists by implementing the CHSE program in their homestays. Therefore, this research aims to uncover the extent of understanding and application of the CHSE program by homestay owners/managers in Ngargoretno Tourism Village, Magelang, Central Java. This study used a qualitative descriptive method by conducting interviews with nine homestay owners and three ngargoretno village officials determined by snowball sampling and Purposive sampling techniques. The results showed that the homestay owners/managers have not fully understood and implemented the CHSE program. Likewise, the public has not fully realized the importance of implementing the CHSE program. Therefore, more intensive socialization and training are needed to the community, especially the owners/managers of homestays about the need for the implementation of CHSE.

Abstract

Desa Wisata sebagai alternatif pemulihan pariwisata Indonesia disaat kondisi new normal merupakan pilihan yang tepat, seiring dengan meningkatnya pasar domestik yang menuntut jenis pariwisata dengan memiliki karakteristik personalized, customized, localized dan small scale dengan mengedepankan kegiatan wisata berkelanjutan. Salah satu aplikasi kegiatan wisata yang berkelanjutan dan bertanggungjawab, mayoritas wisatawan membeli produk makanan/kuliner lokal untuk berinteraksi dan bersentuhan dengan masyarakat serta budaya lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi produk kuliner berbahan baku lokal dalam mengembangkan Desa Wisata Neglasari, Kecamatan Cisompet Kabupaten Garut. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif dengan dukungan data kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini berupa observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Adapun narasumber dari penelitian ini yaitu, perangkat desa, organisasi pariwisata, wisatawan, pelaku usaha kuliner, pengelola tempat wisata, dan pelaku usaha pariwisata lainnya. Teknik intrepretasi data menggunakan Analisa SWOT, dan Matrik IE digunakan sebagai alat untuk menentukan strategi dan Matrik QSPM digunakan untuk menentukan skala prioritas dari strategi yang dipilih. Hasil dari penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Desa Wisata Neglasari berpotensi untuk mengembangkan wisata kuliner karena memiliki sumber daya dan dukungan dari pihak pemerintah daerah maupun masyarakat lokal yang tergabung di dalam organisasi pariwisata. Strategi yang menjadi prioritas ialah pengembangan produk, strategi integrasi kedepan dan penetrasi pasar. Keywords: Desa Wisata, Wisata Kuliner, Pariwisata Berkelanjutan

Abstract

A travel pattern that can be suitable with the shift of travel behavior is a must, so as, the purpose of the study is: (1) to do curation cultural-based attraction overland Flores and (2) cluster them into a thematic travel pattern that suit the travel time, travel distance and tourist dispersion. Multi-destination model is used in designing the pattern based on data collected through survey, interview and FGD with stakeholders from eight region of Flores and analyzed through exploratory sequence method. The finding shows from initial 196 cultural based attration, only 35 points of interest matched and are ready to be visited as in favored by stakeholders. As multi-destination, travel pattern are constructed on en-route and base-camp pattern. Three theme, then, came as cluster of (1) weaving; (2) traditional village; and (3) gastronomic. Weaving tour routes is consisted of 10 attractions, traditional village is comprised of 12 attractions and gastronomic route is contained of 13 attractions. Implication of study are as for travel industry, many creation of tour ativities and packages can be made, and as for tourist, it is a guide to explore the overland of Flores with cultural thematic.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the implementation of the CHSE that has been carried out by the management of Aston Braga Hotel and Residence in ensuring safety dan security for visiting guests. The research method of this research used quantitative research by giving questionnaires to respondents to assess the level of expectations and the level of perceived performance in the implementation of the CHSE using the Important Performance Analysis method. The sample used as respondents in this study were 331 respondents based on the number of guests who stayed in February 2021 using the Slovin formula. Based of research data result regarding Guest Satisfaction Index with the implementation of CHSE is 90.9% which have indicatesd “Very Good” criteria and for the IPA matrix, it is known that the indicators located in quadrants 1-4 need attention by management. Conclusions of this research obtained that the management of Aston Braga Hotel and Residence having a high commitment to service in the new normal era in implementing the CHSE so that the CHSE certification hopes to build trust in the community that the Indonesian tourism industry in the future will be rise.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe spread of the corona virus (covid-19) is still a hot issue in the international world, including Indonesia. This outbreak has affected economic activity in Indonesia with a very significant impact, especially on one of the foreign exchange earners in Indonesia, namely the tourism sector. Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the number of tourists coming to Indonesia is not only reduced but almost non-existent, including tourist visits to the hotel industry. All cross-sectoral and industrial organizations in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic have made changes in their operations in business as usual conditions, where every activity in the workplace apart from their respective homes, both in offices, factories and other locations. Based on these problems, the purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic on the existence of the hospitality business in maintaining business continuity management (BCM). The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method based on secondary data in the form of journals related to research problems, research results and library references regarding data and information related to the threat of the covid 19 pandemic. Data collection techniques use documentation. Data analysis is done through content analysis. The results showed that the Covid-19 pandemic was an event in which the existence of the external environment was relatively uncontrollable or outside the company's control. The direct impact that affects business entities relates to conventional business activities in marketing, finance, human resources and operations. For hoteliers, it is necessary to adjust quickly in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and strive to develop product and service innovations in accordance with market demand trends accompanied by transformations in online application services as well as providing and displaying the applied health protocol and certification carried out by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.Keywords: Covid-19 Pandemic, Hospitality Business, Business Continuity Management (BMC)

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah memaparkan pola karakteristik ragam bahasa yang digunakan penjual dan pembeli dalam grup jual beli di Facebook, kemudian mendesripsikan ragam bahasa yang digunakan penjual dan pembeli dalam grup jual beli di Facebook. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang diambil berupa kalimat dan paragraf. Sumber data penelitian ini yaitu grup jual beli yang ada di Facebook. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan teknik simak catat. Data divalidasi dengan teknik triangulasi teori. Kemudian data dianalisis dengan metode agih dengan teknik baca markah dan metode padan referensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua karakteristik ragam bahasa yang digunakan penjual dan pembeli dalam grup jual beli di Facebook yaitu menggunakan kata monggo dan kata ready untuk menawarkan barang yang dijualnya. Adapun bahasa yang digunakan yaitu bahasa Indonesia ragam takbaku, bahasa daerah (jawa) dan bahasa asing (Inggris). Sedangkan bahasa yang digunakan penjual dan pembeli dalam grup jual beli di Facebook yaitu menggunakan ragam bahasa tidak baku. Adapun bahasa yang digunakan dalam penawarannya berupa campuran bahasa Indonesia, bahasa Inggris dan bahasa Jawa.

Abstract

Kurang aktifnya Kelompok Sadar Wisata (Pokdarwis) menjadi suatu permasalahan yang terjadi pada beberapa desa wisata. Hal ini dapat mengakibatkan kurangnya keterlibatan masyarakat dan kurang maksimalnya manfaat yang didapatkan dalam mengelola desa wisata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi produk wisata di desa wisata serta sejauh mana keterlibatan masyarakatnya dalam mendukung kegiatan pariwisata. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif deskriptif dengan fokus pada keterlibatan masyarakat dalam mendukung program desa wisata. Analisis yang digunakan untuk mengolah data hasil temuan adalah analisis Tourism Area Life Cycle (TALC) dan pemetaan pemangku kepentingan (stakeholders). Penelitian ini menunjukkan informasi seputar produk wisata serta keterlibatan masyarakat dalam mengolah produk yang sudah dimiliki, agar dapat mendukung jalannya desa wisata. Didapati juga kedudukan masyarakat dan Pokdarwis sebagai pemangku kepentingan berada pada posisi subjects yang mana memiliki kepentingan tinggi tetapi pengaruhnya rendah. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi untuk meningkatkan keterlibatqan masyarakat dalam aktivitas pariwisata.
