Abstract

The background of the iron sellers in the riverbank is a human unit or group of people living in along the riverbank.  Their lives are dominated by river culture.  However, the life of the Bantaran Sungai community in Kuin Selatan Village, Banjarmasin, gives a different and very interesting nuance.  There are forms of economic activity in the area that indirectly do not influent in the river for the spring of life, but present a complete form of economic activity, both from production and distribution and consumption activities.  This is reflected in the economic activity of iron craftsmen. The points at this research were: (1.) To discover out what kinds of goods were made by iron sellers in Kuin Selatan Village, (2.) To find out the making, marketing and usage activities take out by iron sellers at Kuin Selatan Village, (3.) To discover out the ways of making iron by iron sellers. Descriptive qualitative method was used in the research to illustrate the economic activities of the riverbank groups in Kuin Selatan Village.  The person in this research were iron craftsmen.  The research instrument consisted of observation guides and interviews made by the researchers themselves.  The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion.  Test the validity of the data using time triangulation, sources and data collection techniques.The conclusions appear that the interesting economic activity of the riverbank groups in Kuin Selatan Town was ironmonger.  Its economic activities contain: (1.) production activities, (2.) marketing activities, (3.) usage activities.  The making activities of the iron craftsmen are in the form of agricultural tools such as hoes, crowbars, machetes, sickles, and also in the form of household utensils such as frying pans, knives and panicles.  In addition, other products include bolts, drills, truck elbows, hinges, valves, drums and containers.  Distribution activities can be seen in the acquisition of raw materials and distribution of production results to consumers.  The form of distribution of goods is carried out directly or indirectly.  Obtaining nail materials indirectly through collectors, while the distribution of manufactured goods through agents.  The consumption activities of iron craftsmen are carried out directly, namely buyers come directly to the craftsmen to buy the goods they produce and indirectly, namely traders buy to be resold to the market to consumers. The conclusion reached by these iron sellers is that we can get to know the processing of iron goods which can be made into several kinds of tools to break down gold such as drums and valves for example, accompanied by activation of production, distribution and consumption

Abstract

Agricultural activities are synonymous with the physical strength of men compared to women. However, over time, women also have a role in agricultural activities. Therefore, it is necessary to learn about gender studies. Learning about gender can be found in the role of women in agricultural activities. The role of women in agricultural activities in Anjir Serapat Muara 1 Village can be used as an example of gender equality. This research aims to describe the role of women farmers in agricultural activities in Anjir Serapat Muara 1 Village. The method applied by the author in this research is a qualitative approach with the use of descriptive methods. The research location is Anjir Serapat Muara 1 Village, Barito Kuala Regency, South Kalimantan Province with the subject of Anjir Serapat Muara 1 Village women. The research instrument here is the researcher himself with the use of observation data collection techniques about the role of women in agriculture, interviews, and documentation used in the form of village profile data archives and moments during research related to the role of women in agricultural activities. The results of this study state that the role of women in agricultural activities in Anjir Serapat Muara 1 Village is due to hereditary factors, namely because being a farmer in this village is used as the main livelihood because the village area is suitable for agriculture and business factors to improve the family economy, namely with the aim of helping to ease the burden on husbands or female farmers who act as heads of families caused by husbands who have died or have divorced.

Abstract

Currently, students still have relatively low English proficiency. This causes the improvement of English skills to be done to obtain maximum results. One of them is the English Course Program in Karang Indah Village, Mandastana District. Karang Indah Village as the location for the implementation of the English Course Program makes it specific compared to other villages in Barito Kuala Regency. Research Objective: To describe the English Course Program in Karang Indah Village, Mandastana District. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The collection techniques in this study are Observation, Interview, and Documentation. The instruments in this study are the researcher himself assisted by interview guidelines, recording tools, and stationery. The data analysis techniques in this study are in the form of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawn. Test the validity of the data used by credibility tests, transferability tests, and dependability. Research results: In its implementation, the English Course Program in Karang Indah Village, Mandastana District has several stages, namely the planning stage and the implementation stage of learning activities. The planning stage includes: tutor/teacher training, course participant registration, cost plan, learning location, learning plan. Meanwhile, the stage of implementing learning activities includes: making learning implementation plans, learning materials, learning media, learning methods, and assessment of learning activities. The existence of the English Course Program in Karang Indah Village is expected to improve the quality of human resources through English language skills.

Abstract

This journal article discusses the influence of self-confidence on public speaking skills in adolescents. This article finds interesting facts that social interaction with the environment and even includes support from peers, family, and teachers, plays an important role of one's self in shaping and increasing one's self-confidence. From the results of the interviews and questionnaires that we distributed, it can be concluded that for someone to improve their public speaking skills, efforts are also needed to strengthen and increase their confidence through positive social interaction and also support from the surrounding environment. From this article, it is hoped that it can contribute even to the development of educational strategies as well as effective interventions to improve public speaking skills in everyone. The research methods used include interviews and questionnaire distribution. The questionnaire was distributed to collect quantitative data on the level of confidence and its influence on public speaking skills. The results of our study show that self-confidence has a significant role in determining a person's success in public speaking. A person with a high level of confidence tends to be better able to overcome fear and anxiety, and is more effective in conveying their message to the audience. The hope of the discussion in this article is that we can all learn and even understand that there are causes and effects experienced by others that are certainly different from what we experience. So that we can also learn to see someone's reasoning from another point of view.

Abstract

The purpose of this writing is to describe the implementation of the traditional Banjar game 'bahagaan', and describe the value of the traditional Banjar game 'bahagaan' Martapura. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Validity of research data by extending observations, triangulation and conducting member checks. The game 'bahagaan' is a traditional game of the Banjar people which has begun to be forgotten but some people still know about it. This game consists of two teams competing against each other, namely the attacking team and the guard team and each team must have a minimum of 3 people. This game is very easy to play and does not require a lot of tools, just use twigs to line the sandy field and shoes if the field is made of cement. Preparing the team by 'umpimpah' and 'basiun'. The field is made square with a length and width of approximately 5 meters for playing. Children are able to show hard work, discipline, communication and friendship. The values that are visible from the traditional Banjar game 'bahagaan' are religious values, honest values, communicative/friendly values, hard work values, discipline values, responsibility values and the value of respecting achievements.

Abstract

Social Values are a benchmark for assessing a person's or society's attitudes which are believed to be something that is considered good. There are various kinds of social values, both in daily life and in community activities. Pekauman Ulu Village is a village located in East Martapura District, Banjar Regency, it is a village in which there are various kinds of communities, such as the Banjar community and the Arab community. The Banjar and Arab communities certainly have differences in terms of habits, race and culture. These differences make the Banjar and Arab communities respect each other and value each other, from these differences the social activities that occur in Pekauman Ulu village are created. These activities, such as weddings, matrimonial recitations and social gatherings, from the activities that occur in Pekauman Ulu village give rise to social values, namely the value of cooperation, the value of tolerance, the value of helping each other and also the value of harmony between communities.

Abstract

The Early marriage is a marriage that occurs at a very young age, based on law 16 of 2019 where early marriage occurs at the age of 19 for men and women. Where children who marry young are often not physically mentally or emotionally mature. However, the facts researched at the Religious Affairs Office (KUA) of Martapura District, a city in Banjar Regency, where there are still many rates of early marriage, in the last 2 years from 2022-2023, even though it has been prohibited in Law 16 of 2019. Early marriage will still be allowed if there is a dispensation letter by the religious court. The purpose of this study is to be able to know. The impact of early marriage at the Religious Affairs Office in Banjar Regency, Martapura Kota District. And the researcher uses a qualitative research approach where the researcher tries to gain an understanding of the phenomenon in the problem being studied and in clarity of the statementor reality about the impact found, namely positive impact and negative impact.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Describe the background of foster children in the Raudhatul Yatama Orphanage, Kertak Hanyar District, Banjar Regency. 2) Describe the parenting style of foster children at the Raudhatul Yatama Orphanage, Kertak Hanyar District, Banjar Regency. 3) Describe the contribution of parental parenting to social studies education. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawn. Test the validity of the data using triangulation. The results of the study were that children living in the Raudhatul Yatama Orphanage, Kertak Hanyar District, Banjar Regency came from various diverse backgrounds, including orphans, orphans, underprivileged, and abandoned children. This orphanage accepts 30 children with various age ranges. Data collection is expected to help orphanages to understand the needs and obstacles faced by these children.  The orphanage management pays attention to children from these backgrounds. The orphanage is committed to providing the best care and education to all foster children, regardless of their family origin or background.

Abstract

Technology integration in learning is essential in this digital era to improve student interaction and understanding. This community service aims to develop and implement Flipbook Maker as an electronic learning media for Social Sciences (IPS) subjects. The methods used in this community service activity include the planning, training, implementation, and evaluation stages. First, a needs analysis was conducted to determine the material to be presented as a flipbook. Second, IPS teachers were given intensive training on integrating Flipbook Maker into the curriculum.Furthermore, the flipbooks that had been created were tested in several classes to see their effectiveness and student responses. The activity results showed that using Flipbook Maker as an electronic learning medium can increase student interest, facilitate material delivery, and enrich learning resources. The evaluation showed that most students felt more motivated and helped understand IPS material. Thus, Flipbook Maker can be an alternative and innovative learning media for IPS subjects.

Abstract

Fishermen are residents who do the work of looking for fish to meet their living needs. The fishing gear used is a simple fishing tool that is still traditional, these fishermen are trying to meet their living needs, in an era that is increasingly advanced. These traditional fishermen look for fish in the Barito River. With traditional fishing gear, these river fishermen are trying to find luck in catching fish. These traditional fishermen gain knowledge in going to sea from the teachings of their previous parents. The purpose of this study is to describe the profile of traditional fishermen and their fish catches in the Barito River. Qualitative methods and descriptive approaches used by researchers. This research is located in Anjir Village, Serapat Muara. The instrument for writing this study is the researcher himself and the data collected by the data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The subject of this study is fishermen in Anjir Serapat Muara Village. The results of the research are that fishermen in Anjir Serapat Muara village are traditional fishermen both in terms of tools, materials and transportation used. They go to sea because it is done from generation to generation. The catch of this traditional fisherman is still small. Because by using simple fishing gear, the catch of fish is still minimal. The conclusion of this study is that in Anjir Serapat Muara Village, there are people who work as river fishermen who use fishing gear and simple transportation to sea. Fishermen have the knowledge to go to sea to find fish obtained by fishermen from their parents who have been taught since childhood and have been passed on until now to meet their needs.
