Abstract

This literature study aims to encourage and improve the understanding of Civic Education in regulating and realizing Good Citizenship among junior high school students. Good Citizenship is defined comprehensively, covering Civic Knowledge, Civic Skills, and Civic Disposition, as well as covering the main objectives of national education based on Pancasila. The results of this study show that Civic Education plays a crucial role in shaping Good Citizenship, encouraging independence in learning, and instilling social values based on Pancasila. The implementation of Civic Education must be comprehensive and contextual, emphasizing practical aspects such as the development of critical and rational thinking and psychomotor aspects. However, this literature study found many gaps in implementation, where learning methods and school environmental factors need to be optimized through a modern approach, one of which is based on the current curriculum, with the hope of producing intelligent, moral students who are actively involved in participating in social and national life.

Abstract

Currently, we live in the digital era 5.0, which requires us to quickly adapt to technological developments. Life in the 21st century also demands that we possess skills to improve the quality of human resources, one of which is critical thinking. This skill can be developed and is influenced by many factors, including education. This research aims to determine the correlation between the roles of parents, teachers, and parenting patterns as forms of formal and non-formal education in enhancing critical thinking skills. To identify this correlation, a qualitative literature review method was used in this study. The conclusion is that teachers, parents, and parenting patterns are interconnected and mutually supportive in developing children's thinking abilities. As a result, children will be prepared to face globalization and be able to compete with others in many areas in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of student management on the effectiveness of the interest and talent development program for eleventh-grade science students in junior high schools. Student management is a crucial aspect of education, playing a role in planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising student activities, including the development of interests and talents. The research method used was a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. The population in this study was all eleventh-grade science students, with a proportional sampling technique used. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used simple regression statistical tests to determine the extent of student management's influence on the effectiveness of the interest and talent development program. The results showed that student management significantly influenced the effectiveness of the student interest and talent development program. This suggests that the better the implementation of student management, the more effective the interest and talent development program will be. Therefore, schools are expected to improve the quality of student management to support the optimal development of student potential.

Abstract

Creative thinking skills are essential in twenty-first century learning to enable students to respond effectively to complex challenges, including in Aqidah Akhlak education which emphasizes character development. However, learning practices in schools are still largely dominated by teacher-centered approaches that limit students’ active participation and creativity. This study aims to examine the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) supported by the Canva application in improving students’ creative thinking skills in Aqidah Akhlak learning at MTs Al-Amin, Jenu District. The research employed a qualitative approach using Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. The findings indicate a significant improvement in students’ engagement, creativity, and learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle stage, student participation and achievement were relatively low, whereas after the implementation of PjBL assisted by Canva in the second cycle, student participation increased to approximately 80% and learning mastery reached 82%. Students demonstrated the ability to generate more original, flexible, and contextually relevant ideas. The study concludes that Project-Based Learning supported by Canva is effective in enhancing creative thinking skills and improving the quality of Aqidah Akhlak learning.

Abstract

The development of science and technology in the current era has resulted in significant transformations in the world of education, but often shifts attention to intellectual achievement (IQ) without paying attention to the formation of moral and spiritual character. This situation requires a change in the educational paradigm to balance the development of intelligence and ethical values. This study aims to explore in depth the principles, concepts, and relevance of Islamic humanism to the formation of student character, as well as its application in the context of modern education. The methodology applied is a literature review with an analytical-philosophical approach to analyze the concept of Islamic Humanism as a philosophical basis in education. The research findings indicate that Islamic humanism, which emphasizes humanitarian values based on Islamic teachings, serves as a foundation of values that align the development of science with faith and morality. This paradigm is relevant for: 1) Internalizing moral values amidst technological advancements, 2) Avoiding moral crises and the loss of humanity, and 3) Strengthening student identity. The conclusion confirms that Islamic humanism is an important philosophical basis for developing students into perfect human beings who are intellectually superior, have noble character, and have good morals.

Abstract

Student behavior reflects the educational process they receive, whether at school, family, or community. This study aims to analyze the collaborative role of schools, families, and communities in shaping positive student behavior. The method used was a systematic literature review (SLR) with the PRISMA protocol, examining 20 national and international journal articles published between 2020 and 2025. The study results indicate that student behavior is strongly influenced by the synergy between teachers, parents, and the social environment. Effective strategies include role models, habituation, effective communication, and extracurricular activities such as Scouting and youth mosque activities. Cross-sector collaboration has been proven to reduce juvenile delinquency, increase discipline, and shape students' character with integrity. The study's conclusions confirm that character education, implemented collaboratively and sustainably, can shape student behavior that is adaptive to the challenges of the times.

Abstract

Learning motivation is one of the essential factors influencing the success of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning process. Low student motivation is often caused by the use of less varied learning media that have not adapted to technological developments. This study aims to examine the improvement of students’ learning motivation through the use of Islamic educational YouTube media in PAI learning. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method conducted at SMAN 4 Tuban. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the use of Islamic educational YouTube media can enhance students’ learning motivation, as reflected in increased attention, interest, active participation, and enthusiasm during PAI learning activities. Furthermore, Islamic educational YouTube media helps students understand the learning material in a more concrete and contextual manner. Therefore, the utilization of Islamic educational YouTube media can be considered an effective alternative learning medium to improve students’ learning motivation in PAI learning.

Abstract

The rapid digital transformation in education has prompted the integration of communication platforms like WhatsApp into learning management, particularly in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) programs. This qualitative case study examines the influence of WhatsApp-based PAI learning management on student active engagement at UIN Ar-Raniry, involving three PAI lecturers and three 2024 cohort students as participants. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis, analyzed interactively via Miles and Huberman's model (data reduction, display, and verification).  Findings reveal WhatsApp excels as a supplementary tool for administrative management, facilitating schedule sharing, pre-class material distribution (H-1), task coordination, attendance tracking, and documentation enhancing behavioral engagement in routine tasks. However, it falls short in fostering deep academic, emotional, and social engagement. Academic involvement remains superficial, limited to brief responses rather than conceptual mastery of PAI content; emotional disengagement arises from text-based rigidity, monotony, and lack of visual cues, eroding motivation; social interactions feel awkward due to formality concerns and one-way communication. Technical issues (e.g., unstable networks) and non-technical barriers (e.g., distraction, AI misuse) further hinder effectiveness. Ultimately, WhatsApp-based management positively impacts administrative engagement but inadequately supports profound PAI comprehension and pedagogical skill-building, underscoring its role as a bridge rather than a primary platform. Recommendations advocate hybrid models blending WhatsApp with face-to-face interactions for optimal PAI learning outcomes.
