Abstract

Cybervictimization is a form of violence or harassment conducted online, which can negatively affect psychological well-being, including increasing the risk of anxiety. Cybervictimization is particularly prevalent among late adolescents and young adults, as these age groups frequently use social media as a primary means of daily interaction. This study aimed to examine the association between cybervictimization and anxiety levels among nursing students at STIKes Dharma Husada. A quantitative method with a correlational design and a cross-sectional approach was employed. The study sample consisted of 76 respondents. The research instruments included the Cybervictimization Scale (CYBVICS) and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7). Data were analyzed using Spearman’s rank correlation test. The findings showed that half of the respondents experienced moderate levels of cybervictimization (50.0%), and most reported severe anxiety (56.6%). The correlation analysis revealed a significant association between cybervictimization and anxiety, with a p-value of 0.001 and a correlation coefficient of 0.449, indicating a moderate positive relationship. In conclusion, the higher the level of cybervictimization experienced, the higher the level of anxiety among students. Based on these findings, it is recommended that educational institutions and students increase efforts to prevent and manage the psychological impacts of digital violence.

Abstract

Minor injuries such as abrasions and lacerations are common among elementary school students, particularly due to play activities, while limited knowledge and skills in first aid may increase the risk of infection and wound-related complications. This community service program aimed to enhance students’ understanding and practical skills in managing minor injuries through structured health education on first aid for wounds. The activity was conducted at SDN 21 Pekanbaru with 18 students as participants. The program included interactive lectures, practical demonstrations of wound care, and the use of audiovisual media as learning tools. Data were collected using pre-test and post-test questionnaires to measure knowledge improvement in minor wound first aid, complemented by direct observation to evaluate first aid skills. Results showed a significant knowledge gain, with mean scores increasing from 76.67 before the intervention to 100 after the session. Similarly, observational scores of first aid skills rose markedly from 32.78 to 100, reflecting substantial competency gains following the educational program. These findings confirm that combining lectures, demonstrations, and audiovisual support is an effective strategy to promote both cognitive and psychomotor domains of learning in elementary students. The program not only improved students’ ability to respond to minor injuries and fostered health literacy applicable in daily life, but also highlights the need for future school-based initiatives in collaboration with Public Health Centers (Puskesmas) to provide first aid training for students and teachers, thereby enhancing preparedness, strengthening competencies, and promoting a sustainable culture of safety and health in schools

Abstract

The WHO reported that approximately 39.0 million people were living with HIV at the end of 2022, with 1.3 million new infections and 630,000 deaths due to HIV-related illnesses in the same year. One of the factors contributing to risky dating behavior among adolescents is a lack of knowledge about HIV/AIDS, leading to limited understanding of its consequences. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between HIV/AIDS knowledge and dating behavior among eleventh-grade students. A quantitative descriptive correlational method with a cross-sectional approach was used. The sample consisted of 70 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included the HIV-KQ-18 questionnaire and the SBQ, both of which have been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that 17.1% of respondents had low knowledge levels, while 18.6% engaged in risky dating behaviors. The Spearman’s rho test indicated a significant relationship between HIV/AIDS knowledge and dating behavior (p = 0.000; r = 0.697). Thus, there is a strong and positive relationship between HIV/AIDS knowledge and adolescent dating behavior. These findings imply the need for structured reproductive health education programs in secondary schools, such as regular counseling sessions and integration of HIV/AIDS content into the curriculum, to reduce risky dating behaviors among adolescents.

Abstract

Adolescents are the next generation who are currently in an important transitional stage toward adulthood. At this phase, they are highly vulnerable to various influences, including a lack of knowledge about reproductive health, the risk of stunting, and the impacts of early marriage. In response to these conditions, a community service activity was conducted at the Auditorium of STIKes Gunung Maria Tomohon, Tomohon City, with the aim of providing health education to students so that they can better understand the importance of adolescents’ role in preventing stunting and the negative impacts of early marriage. The program was carried out in three stages: planning in collaboration with the BKKBN team and the school, delivering interactive health education using engaging media, and evaluation through a question-and-answer session. A total of 164 students enthusiastically participated in the activity, and the discussion results revealed that reproductive health and early marriage were their primary concerns. It is expected that through continuous education, adolescents will be able to make wiser decisions for their future and contribute to stunting prevention within their communities. Programs like this are essential to be held regularly and to reach more schools.

Abstract

Gastritis is one of the diseases of the digestive system with a high prevalence of recurrence. Irregular lifestyles, academic stress, and low self-management skills are the main factors that trigger relapse. The Chronic Care Model (CCM) has a conceptual framework in the management of chronic diseases including gastritis. This study aims to analyze factors related to gastritis recurrence based on the CCM approach in nursing students. This study used  a cross-sectional quantitative design  with a total of 30 respondents in young adulthood. The results showed that most of the respondents (86.7%) experienced a recurrence of gastritis in the last six months. The Fisher's Exact Test showed that the self-management support subscale had a significant relationship with gastritis recurrence (p = 0.048), while the other subscales (delivery system design, decision support, clinical information system, organization of care, and community resources) showed an insignificant association (p > 0.05), but had a strong association in the high score category. The conclusion of this study shows that the higher the student's self-management ability, the lower the risk of gastritis recurrence.

Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) remain a major health problem in the community, especially in the Papua Highlands. The prevalence of ARI among toddlers in Papua is among the highest in Indonesia, partly due to the community's lack of knowledge about ARI prevention and the implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behaviours (PHBS). This community service activity aims to increase public knowledge about the prevention of respiratory tract infections in Waima Village, Popuoba District, Jayawijaya Regency. The method used is health education through counselling with slides and leaflets, accompanied by discussions and question and answer sessions. The target audience for this activity is the communities of Waima and Popuoba villages. The results of the activity show an increase in the community's understanding of the definition of ISPA, risk factors, modes of transmission, and efforts to prevent ISPA through the implementation of Clean and Healthy Living Behaviours (PHBS). The community showed enthusiasm and active participation during the event. This activity is expected to contribute to changes in public health behaviour, thereby reducing the risk of acute respiratory infections in the region.

Abstract

Alexithymia is characterized by difficulties in identifying and expressing emotions and is considered to play an important role in influencing excessive gadget use among adolescents. This study aimed to determine the relationship between alexithymia and gadget addiction among adolescents using questionnaires to assess the level of alexithymia and smartphone addiction. This study employed a descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 188 adolescents, with 130 respondents selected through non-probability purposive sampling. The independent variable was alexithymia, while the dependent variable was gadget addiction. Data were collected using the Alexithymia Questionnaire and Smartphone Addiction Questionnaire and analyzed using the Pearson correlation test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that most respondents experienced smartphone addiction at a high level. Statistical analysis revealed a significant relationship between alexithymia and gadget addiction, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of 0.451, indicating a moderate positive correlation. Therefore, adolescents with higher levels of alexithymia tended to experience higher levels of gadget addiction. These findings suggest the importance of emotional regulation and psychological interventions in preventing gadget addiction among adolescents

Abstract

Pregnancy is a physiological condition that may develop into complications if not monitored regularly through Antenatal Care (ANC) examinations. Limited maternal knowledge regarding danger signs during pregnancy can affect compliance with ANC visits, thereby increasing the risk of complications for both mother and fetus. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between maternal knowledge of pregnancy danger signs and compliance with ANC examinations. This study employed a quantitative analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of all pregnant women in the working area of a healthcare facility, with 92 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using a knowledge questionnaire and an ANC compliance observation sheet. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate methods with the Chi-Square test at a significance level of α = 0.05. The results showed that most respondents had a good level of knowledge regarding pregnancy danger signs (48 respondents; 52.2%), and the majority were compliant with ANC examinations (61 respondents; 66.3%). Statistical analysis demonstrated a significant relationship between maternal knowledge regarding pregnancy danger signs and compliance with ANC examinations (p = 0.001). Pregnant women with better knowledge tended to demonstrate higher compliance with routine ANC visits. This study highlights the importance of strengthening maternal health education regarding pregnancy danger signs to improve compliance with ANC examinations and support the early prevention of pregnancy complications.
