Abstract

Madrasah and schools have the same vision, mission and goals, namely the organizers of education in order to educate the life of the nation. Both of these institutions each have their own uniqueness and characteristics, because of their different backgrounds and histories. Competition and competition between educational institutions are still finding things that are unfair and cause polemics with each other. Even though the status and pos of the madrasa is the same as the school as the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, and the Minister of Education and Culture, and SKB 3 Minister Number 06/1975.037/U/1975, and Number 36/1975 about improving the quality and quality of education in madrasas. The main points and substance of the referred SKB are first, that the recognition of diplomas at madrasah graduates can have a value equivalent to the recognition of public school diplomas and equivalent. Secondly, graduates / madrasah alumni can continue their studies to public schools and those who are on a higher level. And third, students in the madrasa can transfer to public schools of the same level. If we understand the difference between madrasa and school, it is only limited to textual understanding, it will lead us to a simple understanding and be trapped in mere symbolic understanding. So when these differences can be created at school, the difference between madrasa and other schools will disappear.

Abstract

In the context of progress and the development of management quality in an institution especially in Islamic education institutions in order to improve the quality and quality of islamic education, it is very interesting matter to be studied together. The many phenomena surrounding the success of an Islamic education institution is a challenge for other educational developers to continue to compete in improving the overall quality of management. Total Quality Management is a management concept that is oriented towards improving quality and customer satisfaction for the service provided. Total Quality Management, or integrated quality management, is a paradigm of continuous quality improvement by presenting a set of practical tools to each educational institution in meeting the needs and satisfaction of its customers in the present and in the future. The advantages of TQM lie in the planning system. In the TQM planning process will be carried out with active involvement and full commitment and high consistency from all members of the organization. The evaluation process on TQM will also be carried out maximally through emphasis on the purpose of achieving the TQM goals. Evaluation is also carried out as a form of continuous reflection followed by supervision and ultimately focuses on quality assurance for customer satisfaction. This paper tries to explain the results of the TQM concept review as an information in a management system that might be implemented in an Islamic education institution, as well as other educational institutions.

Abstract

The present study aims to describe BIPA program held at Institut Pesantren KH. Abdul Chalim, covering the planning, implementation and problems. Using descriptive qualitative design, the data analysis shows that communicative approach is deployed on the instructional process. The emerging problems include linguistic, cultural and facility aspects. Not only the instructors, but also stake-holders need to actively work on the solutions.

Abstract

Notwithstanding some non-English speaking countries’ curriculum has changed over time, the students’ vocabulary acquisition remains pathetic. The evidence of the plight of students’ mastery on vocabulary can be easily and obviously found on their daily basis activity of English learning. Teachers are encouraged to employ various approaches, methods, or strategies to meet the goal of the improvement of pupils’ vocabulary. This article suggests an idea of how to develop it through the use of WhatsApp. It has now been ubiquiotous application attached in students’ smartphone which brings through students and teachers to be connected anytime and anywhere. The utilization of WhatsApp in language teaching is believed to prompt learners’ motivation which in the end will lead them to learn vocabulary effectively.

Abstract

Character education occupies a strategic position in Islamic education in Indonesia. its urgency is felt to be conceptually formulated in an Islamic perspective. The study of character education in the thinking of classical to modern Islamic figures has always been an important theme to be studied and developed in the treasury of Islamic education. The underlying background includes: First; character education is an important theme that is of concern to policy makers in formulating educational goals. second; Character education is the main basis for the idea of Islamic education. Third; the concept and thought of character education initiated by classical Islamic intellectuals have similarities and differences with the concept of education originating from the west and the concept of inherited character education from ancient Greece and Arabia.

Abstract

Upaya penguatan mutu madrasah terus diintensifkan, berbagai masalah madrasah harus dicarikan solusinya atau penyelesaiannya. Manajemen madrasah harus dilaksanakan secara professional, dan kepemimpinan kepala madrasah harus dioptimalkan, serta mampu menghidupkan wirausaha di madrasah tujuan penguatan mutu madrasah harus terus diupayakan, yaitu menjadikan madrasah yang berprestasi dan unggul, dengan indikator prestasi akademik dan non akademik di atas rata-rata, sarana dan prasarana dan layanan lebih lengkap, sistem pembelajaran lebih baik, seleksi penerimaan cukup ketat, mendapat animo yang besar dari masyarakat dan tersedia dana yang cukup. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif, yaitu metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk meneliti pada kondisi objek yang alamiah (natural setting).Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguatan mutu madrasah dilakukan dengan manajemen professional, mengoptimalkan kepemimpinan kepala madrasah, dan menumbuhkan wirausaha di madrasah. Kesimpulan penelitian ini meliputi pengelolaan madrasah dengan sistem manajemen professional, kepemimpinan kepala madrasah dan wirausaha madrasah.

Abstract

The head of the madrasa is a leader who has a big responsibility to be able to improve the quality of education in an educational institution. The quality of the institution's education will be able to improve if the head of the madrasa is able to carry out tasks and work properly in accordance with the principal functions of leadership. The leadership function that must be possessed by the head of the madrasa includes Idealism, intellectual, caring and charisma. Improving the quality of education is one of the efforts that can be made to develop human resources for national development. Quality education institutions can be seen from three things, namely input (resources owned), process and output (graduates). Therefore from formal education in schools it is expected that students can develop optimally all the potential that exists in them. So that the school will be able to print graduates who have competency and have high competitiveness.

Abstract

Character learning based on Total Quality Management is the process, transfer, habituation, and formation of character values by educators to students, which are carried out based on the total quality management concept, namely: quality, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, and overall in all organizational components. This research is qualitative descriptive field research which is background by the high level of juvenile delinquency or moral deviation as a result of the lack of cultivation of character values in students. Therefore, in this study, the author took the location of research at Muhammadiyah 3 Middle School in Yogyakarta, who apply total quality management based character learning. From the research carried out found things, as follows: (1) Muhammadiyah 3 Middle School Yogyakarta has instilled and applied character values (religious, nationalist, independent, and mutual cooperation) through school activities (2) Muhammadiyah 3 Middle School Yogyakarta has implemented the concept of Total Quality Management in character learning (3) Muhammadiyah Middle School 3 Yogyakarta has implemented the 2013 curriculum in the character learning process based on Total Quality Management, which is adjusted to the learning steps, although basically there are still many who need continuous improvement efforts.

Abstract

Objective research that will produce research findings that can be used or acted upon by elements related to the investigation. In this case the researchers conducted a regional study in the Tariqah village of Talang Prigen Pasuruan village on matters relating to Jam'iyah's participation in education. In this study the researchers obtained research findings that (1) the participation of the Tariqah community as a facilitator in providing educational services through out-of-school programs, (2) the participation of the Tariqah community as a motivator in the NU Ma'arif education institution in the area, 3) Tariqah community participation as partners in the success of education in the area. This finding is based on the condition of people who have an economic, social and educational background. This research hopes to release education in the red region.

Abstract

This article discusses one of development step of bandongan method applied at Pesantren Attarbiyah in Madura. In actual fact, author analyzed it by using contemporary of philosophical approach to find out the methodological basis in carrying out development and to fine out its success. In this case, author used Abid al-Jabiri’s thought of turats as a main approach in making observations. But author also used other approaches to analyze other main object within it, such as Paulo Friere’s thought used to analyze bandongan method and taxonomy’s Bloom used to analyze the success of it. This article presents the interesting research result that the development of bandongan method at Pesantren Attarbiyah can be mentioned successful because of several reasons. The first is continuity between tradition and modernity and it is synchronic with Abid al-Jabiri’s thought and the ushul-fiqh’s principle—al-muhafadzatu ‘ala qadim al-shalih, wa al-ahdzu bi al-jadid al-ashlah. Secondly, there is discussion season between santri that formerly had never happened for this method is monologue, teacher-centered, and indoctrination. On the other hand, this also can be mentioned a failure, although it is not entirely, because the understanding of santri is not the result of their critical thinking independence. But it is created by kiai.
