Focus - Journal of Enrich: Education, Language and Linguistic is a scientific journal published by English Education Study Program of Palembang University. The papers to be published in JIPBS are research articles (quantitative or qualitative research approaches), literature studies or original ideas that are considered to contribute to scientific studies of Education, Language, Linguistic, TEFL English Teaching, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), ELT Materials Development and Evaluation, English Language Testing and Assessment, Linguistics, Translation, Critical Discourse Analysis Research method approaches include: Quantitative, Qualitative, and Mix Method. Scope - Journal of Enrich: Education, Language and Linguistics call for scientific articles on Education, English Education, Language and Linguistic . It covers problems in Education Studies, Linguistic studies, Literature and cultural studies (Literature comparison, Critical Literature, Literature Sociology, Literature Anthropology, etc.), Descriptive linguistic (Phonology, Morphology, Syntax and Semantic), Applied Linguistic (Pragmatic, Forensic Linguistic, Critical Discourse Analysis), Interdisciplinary Linguistic (Sociolinguistic, Psycholinguistic, Ecolinguistic, etc.), Language and Literature Teaching (Language teaching in high school), English Language Pedagogy, TEFL, English Teaching, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), ELT Materials Development and Evaluation English Language Testing and Assessment, Translation and Critical Discourse Analysis The scope is not limited to the fields mentioned above. <![CDATA[Abstract Motivation is needed in improving students’ speaking ability. It is so important to realize the strategy which is suitable to students’ life. Students face many problems in speaking English. They are afraid to talk and no self confidence to try speaking English. It is totally hard for students who learn English as a Foreign Language. They don’t have a place to practice their English. It makes students lazy to learn and speak English. In this case, teachers must be smart to find strategy or right technique. As a teacher or instructor of English, we must be active to find out appropriate strategy to help our students. In order to solve the problem, there will be some methods can be applied in teaching and learning process. These methods can motivate and inspire students to speak. Education in Indonesia makes parameters in form of curriculum that teachers should obey it in teaching and learning in the classroom. Curriculum is a guide for teachers in teaching learning process in order achieve the objective. The curriculum in language teaching and learning depends on how the organization of content. Curriculum and its development according to the needs of students, schools, communities and the demands of the times. <![CDATA[Anxiety, an unpleasant state of inner turmoil and apprehension, often accompanied by nervous behavior, has proved that effects on the reading English literacy of Indonesia foreign learners’ context. The anxious feeling gives negative attitudes toward reading since each single thing is easy to comprehend by involving emotional. In order to reduce the anxious feeling, reading atmosphere is important to be implemented in order to help the learners’ literacy in English increase. It is not only that providing materials that cope the familiar local culture in English language materials help students become aware of how their local cultures enriches their linguistic resources and social practices, thereby making their language learning meaningful.]]>

<![CDATA[the current issue of significant concern that many countries define literacy as the ability to read and/ or write simple statement in either a national or native language. In fact, the learning of English literacy has been developing in many definitions by different opinions and different countries in the world. Some researchers reported the understanding of being and becoming literate must be shows how variants of it into policy discourse. This paper highlights the significance of concept mapping in reading literacy. As addition, in this context that reading literacy will be used by using concept maps then it can be designed by pictures, circles or boxs after reading the text depend on the ways of thinking and the creativity in create it.]]>

<![CDATA[Early childhood education is an important issue to be discussed and addressed by parents and teachers as educators. As a result, the total population of 264 million people in Indonesia, there are 171.17 million people or around 64.8 percent who are already connected to the internet. This figure increased from 2017 when the internet penetration rate in Indonesia was recorded at 54.86 percent. By being given an education from an early age, children can use gadgets to find topics that match the subject matter at school, in addition to facilitating communication with parents and other family members. While digital technology can be used to help children learn and develop, it is up to parents to monitor what kind of information is accessible. Parents face many challenges in educating, raising, and nurturing their children in today's digital era.]]>

<![CDATA[Nowadays, the development of technology and learning system have been rapidly increasing and changing as the educators are challenged how to be creative in finding a new strategy in learning and teaching process. It will guide the students to get optimal progress in learning outcomes. There are various ways in learning strategies that are applied by the educators which usually they spend much time in designing high quality learning tasks, creating engaging activities and relentlessly pursuing better classroom routines and behavior management. All of these elements are considered in achieving learning outcomes while there is another essential element that the educators often do not plan for or evaluate. The essential element is a feedback. Therefore, this paper is intended to be one of the references in developing teaching learning strategies to achieve an optimal learning outcome in learning and teaching process. This studyused descriptive qualitative analysis. The result of this study indicates that the feedback strategy provides positive results in achieving learning goal and outcome.]]>

<![CDATA[The purposes of this study were to find out (1) whether there was a significant difference in vocabulary achievement between students who were taught through Project Based Learning, , (2) whether there was a significant difference in speaking achievement between the students who were taught through project based learning, (3) whether there was a significant correlation between vocabulary and speaking achievements of the seventh grade students of Junior High school Number 18. The population of this study consisted of the seventh grade of Junior high school students. The total number of the population was 14, while the sample consisted of 14 students in the experimental group. In collecting the data, the pretest, treatment and posttest were used. However, the data were analyzed by using t-test. It was found that (1) there was a significant difference in vocabulary achievement where the sig value (2 tailed) was lower than 0.05, (2) there was a significant difference in speaking achievement where the sig value (2 tailed) was lower than 0.05, (3) there was a significant correlation and contribution between vocabulary and speaking. It could be concluded that Project based Learning can improved students’ vocabulary and speaking achievements.]]>

<![CDATA[This study discusses the types and meaning of onomatopoeias found in Donald Duck (2005) comic. In collecting the data, the writer used observational method and note taking technique (Sudaryanto, 1993). In analyzing the data, referential identity method (Sudaryanto, 1993) is applied. The types are analyzed by referring to Ullman’s (1962). The meanings are analyzed and strengthened by using the lexical meaning (Lyon, 1995) and contextual meaning (Ullmann, 1962) theories. The results show that there are two types of onomatopoeias found in the comic, the primary and secondary onomatopoeias. The primary onomatopoeia is the direct imitation of a sound produced by an object while secondary onomatopoeia comes from the sound combination produced by the specific characteristic of an object and its movement. In addition, the meanings of onomatopoeias derive from the lexical and contextual meanings. The lexical meaning refers to the dictionary meaning and the contextual refers to the context of an onomatopoeia in the comic line.
