Abstract

This study explores the role of school principals in developing a literacy culture in public high schools (SMAN) in South Aceh. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach to examine the leadership strategies employed by principals to foster literacy, the challenges they face, and the solutions they implement. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis involving principals, teachers, and students from three high schools actively engaged in literacy programs. The findings reveal that school principals play a critical role in promoting literacy by implementing structured reading programs, enhancing library resources, and integrating digital tools to engage students. However, significant challenges, such as limited funding, inadequate library infrastructure, and low student motivation, were identified. To address these obstacles, principals employed innovative solutions, including book donation drives, partnerships with local libraries, and increased parental involvement. Despite these challenges, the study shows that the principals' leadership strategies have positively impacted students' literacy engagement, with reported increases in reading habits and participation in literacy activities. The research concludes that effective school leadership, supported by community partnerships and modern digital approaches, is essential for fostering a strong literacy culture in resource-constrained environments.

Abstract

Teacher performance in high schools in Aceh Barat. Using a quantitative approach and multiple regression analysis, the research investigates how these factors individually and jointly contribute to teacher effectiveness. Emotional intelligence, encompassing self-awareness, empathy, and social skills, was found to have a positive impact on teacher performance, as principals with high emotional intelligence foster a supportive work environment. Leadership also demonstrated a significant positive effect, with principals who actively guide, motivate, and communicate effectively with their staff contributing directly to improved teaching outcomes. Notably, the combined influence of emotional intelligence and leadership amplified these effects, explaining 74.1% of the variance in teacher performance. These findings suggest that both emotional intelligence and leadership are essential qualities in educational leaders, as their interaction maximizes teacher performance. The study highlights the need for leadership training programs that develop both attributes to optimize teaching and learning outcomes. Future research could further explore how specific dimensions of emotional intelligence and leadership styles interact to influence performance in various educational contexts.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of Firm Size, Leverage, and Profitability on Firm Value. The study employs a quantitative data analysis method. The population consists of all pharmaceutical companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, which yielded a sample of 8 pharmaceutical companies selected based on specific criteria. Data collection was conducted using documentation techniques. The independent variables in this study are Firm Size, Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Return on Assets Ratio (ROA), while the dependent variable is Price to Book Value (PBV). The data analysis involves descriptive analysis using secondary data from financial reports of pharmaceutical companies for the 2019-2023 period and statistical analysis with the Eviews 12 software. The study's findings indicate that, partially, firm size positively and significantly affects firm value (0,0024 <0,05), leverage positively and significantly affects firm value (0,0076 < 0,05), and profitability does not affect firm value (0,886 > 0,05). Meanwhile, the simultaneous analysis reveals that firm size, leverage, and profitability collectively do not significantly influence firm value (0,1870 > 0,05).

Abstract

This study evaluates the user experience of the ShopeePay digital wallet application using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) method. The research assessed six dimensions of user experience: attractiveness, clarity, efficiency, reliability, stimulation, and novelty, using a questionnaire completed by 100 active users aged 18-35. Results revealed that ShopeePay provides a positive user experience, with the highest scores for attractiveness (4.43) and clarity (4.45), indicating an appealing and user-friendly design. Despite strong performance, issues such as less intuitive navigation and limited personalization options were identified. Recommendations include improving navigation structure, adding features such as expense analysis and reminders, and offering personalization options to enhance user satisfaction.

Abstract

The steel hardening process through hardening aims to improve the hardness of steel by rapid heating and cooling. The refrigerant media used, such as brine, plain water, and oil, have a significant influence on the hardness of steel. This study aims to analyze the effect of refrigerant media variations on steel hardness after the hardening process. The research method used is a laboratory experiment, in which the steel specimen is heated to an austenitization temperature and cooled with three different cooling media. The hardness of the steel was tested using the Rockwell hardness test, and the microstructure results were analyzed with a metallographic microscope. The gap of this study is the lack of studies related to the influence of refrigerant media variations on steel hardness with a focus on application to crowbars. The results showed that the brine medium provided the highest hardness (98.7 kgf/mm²), followed by ordinary water (98.1 kgf/mm²) and oil (96.2 kgf/mm²). These results suggest that faster refrigerant media, such as brine, produce higher hardness. This study provides insight into the selection of the optimal refrigerant media to increase steel hardness, especially in industrial applications that require hard and durable steel.

Abstract

Toko KaCe is an SME that still uses a manual payroll system that causes errors, delays, and non-transparency. This research aims to develop a web-based payroll application to improve efficiency and accuracy. This research uses system development methods, including requirements analysis, design, development, and evaluation of PHP and MySQL-based applications. Data was collected through interviews with HR managers, manual system observations, and employee surveys after the system implementation. This research fills the gap by developing a payroll application for SMEs, which previously focused more on large companies. The results show that web-based applications can reduce errors, speed up payroll, and increase transparency with easily accessible reports. This application has proven to be effective in increasing payroll efficiency and transparency at Toko KaCe.
