The Journal of Management Education (JME) encourages contributions that respond to important issues in management education. The overriding question that guides the journal’s double-blind peer review process is: Will this contribution have a significant impact on thinking and/or practice in management education? Contributions may be either conceptual or empirical in nature, and are welcomed from any topic area and any country so long as their primary focus is on learning and/or teaching issues in management or organization studies. Although our core areas of interest are organizational behavior and management, we are also interested in teaching and learning developments in related domains such as human resource management & labor relations, social issues in management, critical management studies, diversity, ethics, organizational development, production and operations, sustainability, etc. We are open to all approaches to scholarly inquiry that form the basis for high quality knowledge creation and dissemination within management teaching and learning.

Abstract

Library management plays a crucial role in supporting the educational environment by enhancing student literacy and learning outcomes. This study examines the factors supporting and hindering the effective management of a school library. The supporting factors include strong leadership support, a strategically located library, a well-organized space, and regular reading promotion activities that engage students. Teachers also contribute by encouraging students to visit the library for reading and discussion. However, the study identifies several obstacles, such as limited library space, scheduling conflicts between male and female students, and an insufficient number of library staff, which impede the library’s ability to operate effectively. The findings suggest that addressing these challenges through space expansion, better scheduling, and increasing staff capacity can improve the overall functionality and impact of the library in fostering student literacy and academic success.

Abstract

This article discusses innovations in school management based on information technology to support Education 5.0, which integrates digital technology with humanistic values to create an adaptive, inclusive, and responsive education system in line with modern developments. Education 5.0 emphasizes character building, creativity, and critical thinking skills in students, as well as the development of multidimensional competencies to face future challenges. However, the implementation of Education 5.0 faces challenges such as limited infrastructure, educators' digital skills, and inflexible educational policies. In the context of school management, technologies like digital management systems, AI, Big Data, IoT, and blockchain can improve efficiency, transparency, and security, while supporting personalized learning. The use of these technologies not only enhances administrative management but also creates a more adaptive and inclusive learning experience, ultimately improving the overall quality of education.

Abstract

This study examines the strategic role of school librarians in supporting educational management and collaborative learning. In this context, librarians serve as learning facilitators, not only managing reading materials but also assisting students and teachers in accessing information and developing essential information literacy and critical thinking skills in the digital age. The research findings indicate that competent school librarians are able to serve as a bridge between learning resources and students' learning needs. However, the development of librarians' competencies is still hindered by the limited availability of specialized training programs and inadequate infrastructure support from the school. As a result, some librarians remain stuck in traditional administrative roles and are less effective in facilitating collaborative learning. To address this issue, the study recommends implementing ongoing digital literacy training for librarians, strengthening collaboration between librarians and teachers, and enhancing infrastructure support from the school. By applying these strategies, it is hoped that librarians can play a more effective role in supporting educational management and creating a dynamic collaborative learning environment, ultimately improving the quality of education in schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas pengelolaan Program Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) yang efektif dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan anak dan mendukung perkembangan holistik mereka. Pengelolaan PAUD yang baik melibatkan berbagai aspek, termasuk perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengawasan, dan evaluasi yang dilakukan secara kolaboratif oleh pemerintah, lembaga pendidikan, orang tua, dan masyarakat. Aspek penting yang dibahas meliputi pengelolaan sumber daya manusia, fisik, dan finansial, serta penerapan kurikulum yang mendukung kreativitas, kemampuan sosial, dan perkembangan individual anak. Pengawasan dan evaluasi yang terstruktur sangat penting untuk memastikan kualitas pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain kajian pustaka yang menganalisis literatur terkait pengelolaan PAUD, manajemen pendidikan, serta penerapan prinsip-prinsip manajerial dalam pendidikan anak usia dini. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan pengelolaan PAUD bergantung pada pendekatan holistik, penerapan Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah (MBS), keterlibatan semua pemangku kepentingan, serta pengembangan kurikulum yang fleksibel. Pengembangan profesionalisme pendidik dan pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pendidikan anak usia dini juga menjadi faktor penting dalam peningkatan kualitas pengajaran. Evaluasi dan pemantauan program secara berkala memberikan kontribusi dalam perbaikan berkelanjutan. Dengan pendekatan yang menyeluruh dan kolaboratif, pengelolaan PAUD yang efektif dapat meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan anak usia dini dan mempersiapkan mereka untuk menghadapi tantangan masa depan

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan Manajemen Mutu Terpadu (TQM) dalam lembaga pendidikan dan dampaknya terhadap peningkatan kualitas layanan pendidikan. Berdasarkan studi literatur yang dilakukan, ditemukan bahwa TQM, yang melibatkan keterlibatan seluruh pihak, pengembangan budaya kerja kolaboratif, dan evaluasi yang transparan, dapat meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan secara signifikan. Keterlibatan aktif semua elemen pendidikan, termasuk siswa, tenaga pendidik, kepala sekolah, dan masyarakat, berperan penting dalam menciptakan rasa tanggung jawab bersama terhadap mutu pendidikan. TQM juga mendorong kolaborasi lintas fungsi dan pengembangan standar mutu yang jelas untuk memfasilitasi evaluasi berkelanjutan. Meskipun demikian, tantangan yang dihadapi dalam implementasi TQM, seperti kurangnya pemahaman tentang konsep TQM, resistensi terhadap perubahan, dan keterbatasan sumber daya, memerlukan komitmen dari seluruh pemangku kepentingan. Selain itu, kemitraan dengan pihak eksternal, termasuk lembaga pendidikan tinggi dan sektor industri, dapat memperkaya implementasi TQM dengan memberikan perspektif baru, pelatihan, dan sumber daya tambahan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa meskipun terdapat tantangan, penerapan TQM dapat menjadi strategi efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan dan menjadikannya lebih relevan, adaptif, dan kompetitif di era globalisasi.

Abstract

Keterampilan mendengarkan bahasa inggris yang diucapkan secara verbal (spoken English) merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang ada dalam English language skills. Memahami kata atau kalimat bahasa inggris yang diucapkan oleh penutur asli (native speaker) merupakan suatu persoalan yang sangat kompleks yang dihadapi oleh yang belajar bahasa kedua khususnya siswa kelas XII Madrasah Aliyah (MA) di Karawang tujuan penelitian ini, yaitu: pertama mendeskripsikan teknik yang digunakan dosen dalam mengajar listening comprehension, kedua: merumuskan problematika yang dihadapi siswa kelas XII Madrasah Aliyah dalam belajar listening comprehension, ketiga: merumuskan cara mengatasi masalah-masalah tersebut. hasil penelitian ini membahas tentang problematika pembelajaran listening comprehension pada siswa kelas XII Madrasah Aliyah (MA) karena pada kenyataannya hasil belajar mereka masih jauh dari standar. oleh karena itu, problem solving dalam pembelajaran listening comprehension ini diharapkan akan meminimalisir masalah yang dihadapi siswa dalam proses belajarnya sehingga mendapatkan hasil belajar yang memuaskan
