Abstract

A Needs assessment is the first step that must be done in learning design activities. Needs assessment Analysis is done when facing problems in a lesson. The problems that are commonly encountered in learning Genetics courses are several scientific terms that are similar to one another and are considered difficult by most students. This has an impact on students' conceptual and factual understanding is low. Through the Needs Assessment instrument in the form of a questionnaire survey for lecturers and students, as well as observations identified problems in order to determine the right action, so that the learning design that will be carried out is the best solution. The survey results obtained are summarized and concluded as problem identification and then analyzed to find the right solution. The solution to the identification results obtained is learning the Karyotype Group Strategy, namely the first; class organization based on the shape of the grouping of chromosomes. Second; learning begins with forming groups or organizing classes, because at the same time it is a form of simulation of the core material of learning Genetics.

Abstract

This research discusses the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in increasing the efficiency of architectural design. The use of AI in architecture has had a positive impact in terms of optimizing the creative process, fast data analysis and improving the overall quality of the design. This study analyzes various AI methods used in architectural design, as well as their results and impact on speed and accuracy in producing efficient designs. In conclusion, AI has great potential to change the paradigm in industrial architecture and bring significant efficiencies

Abstract

This study aims to find out: 1) the implementation of the independent curriculum on the competence of clothing design and production expertise at SMKN 8 Makassar, 2) the constraints of implementing the independent curriculum on the competency of clothing design and production expertise at SMKN 8 Makassar, and 3) efforts to overcome these obstacles in the implementation of the independent curriculum on the competence of clothing design and production skills at SMKN 8 Makassar. The type of research used is qualitative research, the source of data is from the principal, vice principal, teacher of Fashion at SMKN 8 Makassar. Data collection techniques with document review, participatory observation and in-depth interviews. Data analysis techniques using interactive analysis by Miles and Huberman include data reduction, data display and conclusion. The results of this study indicate 1) The implementation of the independent learning curriculum in the competence of design expertise and clothing production at SMKN 8 Makassar has been applied to class XI and XII by carrying out seven stages of learning, namely: analyzing Learning Outcomes (CP) to develop learning objectives and learning objectives flow, Planning and implementing diagnostic assessments, Developing teaching modules, Adapting learning to the stages of achievement and characteristics of students, Planning, implementing, and processing formative and summative assessments, Reporting on learning progress and Evaluation of learning and assessment, 2) constraints of independent curriculum implementation on competency skills design and production of clothing at SMKN 8 Makassar on the competence of clothing design and production expertise at SMKN 8 Makassar namely teachers do not understand the substance of the Merdeka Curriculum, teachers still have difficulties in making CP (learning achievements), compiling TP (learning objectives from CP (learning achievements) which there are, difficulties in developing teaching modules, teachers do not understand the assessment standards on the independent curriculum, limited references, and time management, 3) efforts to overcome obstacles to the implementation of the independent curriculum, namely training in making teaching modules, teachers actively doing digital literacy, exploring references, dividing study hours for each element according to the difficulty level of the material

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the scientific attitudes and scientific skills of Natural Sciences teacher candidates by implementing presentation-based project learning. The number of research samples was 98 prospective teachers for the 2022/2023 academic year in the Science Education Study Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Makassar State University. The research method applied is quasi-pre-experimental method. The results of the descriptive statistical analysis found that: 1) 100 percent of science teacher candidates were active in participating in presentation-based project learning during the Covid-19 pandemic; 2) the responses of prospective science teachers to the implementation of project-based learning were very positive, 3) the average score of scientific attitudes was 49.49 which was included in the high category, 4) the average score of scientific skills was 91.54 which was included in the high category. The conclusion of presentation-based project learning can develop the scientific attitude of science teacher candidates. Recommendations: 1) presentation-based project learning can be applied in developing scientific attitudes and scientific skills, 2) presentation-based project learning can activate practicum activities during (online) during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the potential of groundwater in Gowa Regency. The methods used are: Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems. There are 6 variables overlayed in this study, namely: Rainfall, Rock Type, Slope, Soil Type, Vegetation Density, and Land Use. The results showed that there are five classes of groundwater potential, namely: very low, low, medium, high, and very high. Most of the area is in the high class covering an area of 97,357.47 Ha (53.96 percent) spread throughout the sub-district. The class of groundwater potential is very high covering an area of 44,880.89 Ha (24.87 percent) spread across 17 districts. The variables that determine the high and low groundwater potential in an area are mutually combined between variables but the most dominant are: Rainfall, rock type, and land use.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Assessment for Learning (AFL) instrument on a quadrilateral for student at grade VII junior high school students and an assessment for learning model. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). The subjects in the study were two expert validators and 34 grade VII students at SMP Tunas Harapan Malaka Makassar. The objects in this study are validity, difficulty, and discriminating power, as well as the AfL learning model. The results showed that: (1) a test instrument consisting of 5 essay questions met the validity aspect; (2) in terms of student learning outcomes, meeting the indicators of completeness of student learning outcomes classically; (3) in terms of the level of difficulty, 5 points (100%) with the difficulty category of medium questions; (4) in terms of discriminating power, there are five questions (100%) that meet the criteria for good questions so they do not need to be revised; (5) in terms of AfL strategy, including Phase I: (Initial Activities) Conveying learning objectives to students; Phase II: (Core Activities) Helping students to know and understand the standards they want to achieve; Phase III: Guiding working and study groups; Phase IV: Engage students in assessment including self-assessment; Phase V Provide feedback; Phase VI: Giving awards. The results showed that the instruments developed were valid, and the Assessment for Learning (AfL) learning model on the quadrilateral material developed in the research has the potential to foster critical attitudes and curiosity. AfL learning, positions students in an equal position in assessment, enabling the student to conduct self-introspection that impacts improving students' mathematical abilities.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a concept closely related to technological advancements in the era of Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0. AI can be described as a computer program that involves integrated machine learning, hardware, and software components. This concept of AI is inspired by the neocognitron patterns in the human brain and utilizes knowledge from hardware and software to fulfill its functions. With the progress of Industry 4.0, AI has been widely employed in various fields, including vocational education. The aim of this research is to elucidate the role of AI in vocational education during the Industry 4.0 era, utilizing qualitative research methods. In the context of vocational education, AI is used to personalize learning for each learner. AI systems assist in creating customized learning profiles, such as practical exercises, for individual learners. This enables the adaptation of learning materials to align with the abilities, learning styles, and experiences of each learner. The implementation of AI technology in vocational education is considered to be helpful and facilitates the tasks of educators, particularly in administrative aspects such as assessment and determining final grades based on applicable weights and evaluations. Additionally, AI technology can also create more active and interactive learning experiences, thereby facilitating the teaching and learning process for both educators and learners to achieve their goals.

Abstract

The problem that is the background of this research is the low literacy skills of the beginning reading students in grade 1 A UPT SPF Inpres Bira 2. This study aims to describe the use of Flash Card media to improve literacy skills at the beginning of grade 1 A students at UPT SPF Inpres Bira 2. The research used was a type of classroom action research (PTK) which consisted of 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 meetings with stages of activities in the form of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The focus of this research is the use of Flash Card media to improve students' early reading literacy skills. The research subjects were class 1 A students at UPT SPF Inpres Bira 2 in the even semester of the 2023/2024 school year, which consisted of 16 students. Data collection techniques in this study used tests, observation, and documentation. Qualitatively the collection instrument used an observation sheet and quantitatively used a preliminary reading skills test. The data analysis technique used is descriptive quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results showed that there was an increase in initial reading literacy skills in the learning process, as evidenced by the class average score of the pre-action was in the sufficient category (C), in cycle I it increased but was still in the sufficient category (C) while in cycle II experienced an increase and is in the good category (B). The increase is based on the initial reading literacy skill process using Flash Card media so that the initial reading literacy skills of class 1 A UPT SPF Inpres Bira 2 can experience an increase.

Abstract

Coastal spatial planning is very important for solving spatial use conflicts, namely by identifying and mapping all the uses, regulations and conflicts that occur. The purpose of this study aims to evaluate the suitability of land use in coastal area spatial use, analyze the factors that cause spatial use conflicts in coastal area resource management, and determine land use priorities in the spatial utilization of coastal areas on land and water in Labakang District, Pangkep Regency. This research uses a mix method research type, namely a combination of quantitative and qualitative research. Data analysis techniques were performed using a Geographic Information System (GIS). To evaluate land suitability, a spatial analysis was carried out using a GIS approach using ArcInfo 3.5 and ArcView 3.1 software using overlay, weighting, scoring and class methods. This study found that spatial conflicts in the coastal area of Labakkang District occurred due to efforts to fulfill needs and control access to coastal natural resources, especially land. This situation causes spatial conflicts between interest groups in the utilization of coastal areas. This is caused by an increase in tourism activity in the coastal area of Labakang District, which was followed by an increase in the escalation of interest in it.

Abstract

The Effect of Entrepreneurship Learning, Entrepreneurial Knowledge, Industrial Work Practice Experience, and Family Environment on Entrepreneurial Interest with Self-Efficacy as An Intervening Variable in State Vocational High Students in Makassar. This study aims to determine the effect of entrepreneurship learning, entrepreneurship knowledge, and industrial work practice experience and family environment on entrepreneurial interest either directly or indirectly through self-efficacy as an intervening variable. The population in this study was 3530 students of class XII State Vocational High Students in Makassar and a sample of 845 students slovin formula with a standard error of 3% applying Cluster Random Sampling method. The data collection method used is a questionnaire. Data analysis is done through descriptive analysis, path analysis, and sobel test using SPSS and Smart PLS software. The results showed that 1) directly, there is a positive and significant effect of entrepreneurship learning, entrepreneurial knowledge and family environment on self-efficacy 2) directly, there is a positive and significant effect of entrepreneurship learning, entrepreneurial knowledge, self-efficacy and on entrepreneurial interest, 3) indirectly, there is a positive and significant effect of entrepreneurship learning, entrepreneurial knowledge and family environment on entrepreneurial interest through self-efficacy. However, industrial work practice experience is found not significant on self-efficacy and entrepreneurial interest of vocational students.
