Abstract

Science education plays a crucial role in equipping learners with the skills needed to navigate 21st-century challenges. However, in Indonesia, science learning often remains limited to theoretical knowledge, with insufficient emphasis on process skills, higher-order thinking, and real-life applications. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of an integrated instructional model combining Differentiated Challenge-Based Learning (DCBLM) and Problem-Based Creative Learning (PBCL) in improving students’ scientific competencies and perceptions of quality of life. Employing a mixed-methods design, 120 participants including secondary and university students engaged in science activities for twelve weeks. Quantitative data were collected through validated Science Process Skills (SPS) and Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) tests, along with a Quality of Life (QoL) perception survey, while qualitative insights were gathered through semi-structured interviews. Results from paired-sample t-tests showed significant improvements in SPS (M = 62.4 to 78.9), HOTS (M = 58.7 to 74.3), and QoL perceptions (M = 3.21 to 3.78), all with large effect sizes. Thematic analysis revealed learners’ ability to apply science in daily life, increased environmental awareness, and enhanced confidence in problem-solving. These findings confirm that the hybrid model not only strengthens scientific knowledge and thinking skills but also promotes sustainable practices and well-being. The study highlights the potential of contextualized science education to bridge pedagogical innovation with classroom realities and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)..

Abstract

Copyright law reform in the digital economy era is an urgent need to maintain the consistency of Indonesia's state ideology, particularly in the face of globalization and the dominance of purely economic interests. The main problem in this study is the lack of alignment between business actors and government institutions regarding copyright, as well as the weak implementation of Pancasila values in copyright regulations. This study aims to analyze how the principles of social justice of Pancasila can be applied in copyright law reform amidst the development of the digital economy. The method used is a juridical-normative approach with a qualitative analysis of laws and regulations, related policies, and expert views through literature studies. The results of the study indicate that the dominant economic orientation in copyright regulation tends to ignore the values of humanity and social justice. Furthermore, the lack of synergy between the government and business actors leads to weak legal effectiveness. Therefore, it is necessary to reformulate policies that support Pancasila values, as well as strengthen human resource capacity so that copyright law can become a fair and ethical instrument in the digital era.

Abstract

Pancasila is the foundational ideology and moral compass of the Indonesian nation, serving not only as the basis of national identity but also as the supreme legal foundation for the formation and implementation of laws and regulations in Indonesia. In the context of law enforcement in the field of taxation, Pancasila must be the primary reference, especially in efforts to position tax law as a strategic instrument in the prevention of money laundering crimes. Conceptual reflections on the role of tax law in combating money laundering need to be examined thoroughly, particularly by analyzing the changes occurring in both fundamental and organic tax regulations. These changes must be capable of identifying and addressing various legal issues that arise, both from normative and implementation perspectives. In this regard, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia has both a moral and constitutional obligation to ensure that every tax policy and regulation implemented remains grounded in the values of justice, humanity, and mutual cooperation as reflected in the principles of Pancasila. Thus, the application of tax law as a means of preventing money laundering should not only be repressive but must also reflect a fair and civilized legal system. This effort is expected to realize a tax system that is not only effective and efficient but also aligned with the noble ideals of the Indonesian nation, leading to good governance that is clean, transparent, and socially just for a better Indonesia in the future.

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (2023), there are 13 million deaths from acute respiratory infections (ARI) each year, with 4 million occurring in Indonesia. The goal is to reduce ARI deaths by 25% from 2021-2022 and achieve a 10% reduction in mortality over the next seven years. In Indonesia, 4.8% of children under five are diagnosed with ARI, particularly in densely populated areas like Central Java. Factors such as humidity, smoking habits, and maternal education contribute to the risk of ARI in young children. To study these risk factors in Kelurahan Bendan Kergon, analytic quantitative research was conducted in November-December 2024. The population consisted of 870 toddlers aged 1-5 years, with 100 samples selected using the slovin technique. The study used a cross-sectional design with purposive sampling and measured variables using hygrometer and lux meter instruments. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used for data analysis, which revealed that some variables, such as knowledge, smoking behavior, and humidity, were not associated with the incidence of ARI. However, lighting level was found to be a significant variable.

Abstract

Abstract This study analyzed the grain size distribution and physical characteristics of the Grogol River bed sediment, Grogol Petamburan District, West Jakarta. This river plays an important role in the urban drainage system, but sediment accumulation causes siltation and a decrease in its capacity, thus increasing the risk of flooding during the rainy season. This study aims to provide technical data for sedimentation control. The method used is quantitative with laboratory tests, including grain size analysis (sieve analysis), specific gravity test, and water absorption. Sediment samples were taken from the river bed at certain points, then dried, sieved, and weighed. The analysis refers to SNI 03-1968-1990 and ASTM C-33. The results showed that 45% of the sediment material passed the No. 200 sieve (0.075 mm), classified as Clayey Sand (SC) according to the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS). The grain size distribution is classified as poorly graded, indicating an uneven and homogeneous size distribution, thus accelerating sedimentation. The fine fraction exceeds the ASTM limit which allows a maximum of 3% to pass the No. 200 sieve for fine aggregate. The bulk specific gravity value of 2.353 gr/cc, bulk SSD specific gravity of 2.415 gr/cc, apparent specific gravity of 2.510 gr/cc, and absorption of 2.7% indicate moderate porosity. These characteristics affect sediment stability and movement, especially when the flow rate changes. Overall, the Grogol River sediment has the potential to accelerate sedimentation, worsen siltation, and reduce the river's hydraulic capacity. These findings form the basis for planning mitigation strategies such as normalization, routine dredging, settling ponds, and adaptive drainage management according to local sediment characteristic

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of social support in reducing anxiety levels experienced by Generation Z in facing the future in the digital era of Tanjungbalai. Generation Z is the generation born between 1997 and 2012. Generation Z lives amidst the rapid development of digital technology that brings unique challenges, including economic uncertainty, social pressure, and fear of the future. Through a qualitative approach, this study used observation and interview methods with five informants from Tanjungbalai City. The results showed that Generation Z anxiety was triggered by academic pressure, social comparison, and global uncertainty related to the economy and the environment. Social media shows a dualistic impact on the one hand exacerbating anxiety through exposure to unrealistic standards of success and negative content, but on the other hand serves as a source of career information, inspiration, and the formation of a supportive community. In this context, social support, especially emotional support empathy, validation of feelings and instrumental concrete assistance, practical solutions from close friends and family proved to be a critical coping mechanism. Its effectiveness depends on the quality of the interaction, where non-empathetic support can actually increase anxiety.

Abstract

Abstract The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has had a significant impact on the world of education, encompassing teaching methods, curriculum design, and evaluation systems. This study aims to analyze the transformation of education in the AI era by emphasizing the interrelationships between ethical aspects, technology utilization, and strengthening global competencies. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review sourced from scientific journals, policy documents, and relevant international reports. The results show that AI plays a strategic role in enhancing personalized learning, providing a more efficient evaluation system, and expanding access to education, particularly in remote areas. However, its implementation also presents ethical challenges, such as data privacy issues, potential algorithm bias, and the risk of unequal access due to the digital divide. In facing these dynamics, the younger generation is required to master global competencies, including digital literacy, critical thinking skills, cross-cultural communication, and collaborative skills to adapt to the rapid changes in the digital era. This study confirms that AI-based educational transformation can only be optimal if there is a balanced integration of technology, ethics, and global competencies in the curriculum, as well as the support of adaptive, inclusive, and sustainable national policies, especially in developing countries.

Abstract

The 21st century demands an education system that is adaptive, personalized, and responsive to the diversity of learners. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), biotechnology, and smart sensors within the concept of living intelligence offers a transformative solution for realizing dynamic, evidence-based learning. AI utilizes real-time analytics, knowledge tracing, and multimodal modeling to map students' cognitive, affective, and contextual states, allowing for prescriptive and anticipatory learning interventions. Biotechnology and smart sensors enrich the system with biometric indicators such as heart rate variability (HRV), electrodermal activity (EDA), brain waves (EEG), and sleep quality, which are analyzed synchronously to monitor learning readiness in real time. This approach combines cognitive, affective, and physiological dimensions within a single, interconnected ecosystem. Challenges such as algorithmic bias, data privacy, concept drift, and infrastructure limitations are addressed through privacy-by-design governance, federated learning, and explainable AI. The role of the teacher shifts to that of a curator of meaning and a data-driven decision-maker, while the open learner model provides space for student participation. Through multidisciplinary collaboration and ethical policies, living intelligence becomes a new paradigm for education that is inclusive, sustainable, and capable of forming lifelong learners who are relevant to future demands

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the long-term and short-term impacts of the use of cryptocurrency and electronic money on the money supply (M2) in Indonesia, as well as to analyze the long-term and short-term impacts of the use of cryptocurrency and electronic money on monetary stability (exchange rates) in Indonesia. The research method used is quantitative descriptive analysis with the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) using the Eviews application and secondary data in the form of monthly data from 2011 to 2023 obtained from the official websites of Bank Indonesia and Finance. This study utilizes data on cryptocurrency transaction values and electronic money transaction values in Indonesia by analyzing the VECM model, which can observe the long-term and short-term impacts of the use of digital money on the money supply and monetary stability, in this case, viewed through the Indonesian exchange rate. The research results indicate that there is a one-way causality between electronic money and cryptocurrency, but not the other way around, and there is a one-way causality between the money supply and cryptocurrency, with the money supply as the dependent variable influencing cryptocurrency. The results of the VECM estimation indicate that in the long term, electronic money has a negative and sifnificant impact on the money supply. Meanwhile, the short-term estimation shows that both cryptocurrency and electronic money significantly influence the money supply, but their effects are dynamic and vary based on different lags. The long-term estimation with the exchange rate as the dependent variable shows that cryptocurrency does not have a significant impact on the exchange rate, while in the short term, both cryptocurrency and electronic money have a negative and significant effect on the exchange rate.
