Abstract

This research was conducted based on the low quality of the process and learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education subjects at SMP Negeri 1 Mempawah Hulu. This study aims to improve learning outcomes and student independence in Catholic Religious Education learning, especially in the material of Man as the Image of God in class VII Phase D of SMPN 1 Mempawah Hulu. The application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model can explore the effectiveness and quality of learning with indicators of improving student learning outcomes in the Cognitive and affective aspects. In the affective aspect, the researcher developed an independent dimension in the Pancasila Student Profile. Using a quantitative approach, this study involved 31 students in class VII D. The study was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected based on the results of learning tests and observations of attitudes in the learning process in cycles 1 and 2. The results showed an increase in the average score in the cognitive aspect, namely from 73.3 in cycle 1 to 85.6 in cycle 2 or an increase of 16.7%. In the affective aspect, namely by observing learning independence, data was obtained that the average score of the affective aspect in cycle 1 was 80, increasing to 86 in cycle 2 or an increase of 7.5%. In addition, student independence in the learning process also increased, as indicated by their ability to solve problems independently and work collaboratively. The increase in learning outcomes can be seen from the average score of students which increased from the first cycle to the second cycle. Likewise, the level of student independence increased based on the results of the questionnaire and observations. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the PBL learning model assisted by audio-visual media is effectively able to improve learning outcomes and student learning independence in Catholic Religious Education material.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the improvement of the Project Based Learning learning model on the learning outcomes of class This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 2 Sibolga. With a total of 15 students. Classroom action research is a scientific activity carried out by teachers in the classroom using actions to improve the quality of learning. Apart from that, classroom action research also aims to improve a teacher's professionalism. So, classroom action research is very important for teachers to carry out, because solving existing educational problems will help improve the quality of education in Indonesia. Therefore, researchers will discuss how important it is to carry out classroom action research.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of class VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Belimbing Hulu 1 in the 2024/2025 academic year in the subject of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by electronic media. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is carried out in two cycles with 2 meetings in each cycle. Each cycle consists of several stages, namely planning, implementing actions, observation and reflection. The first and second cycles discuss the material I have abilities and my abilities are limited. The subjects in this study were Catholic students of class VII of SMP Negeri 2 Belimbing Hulu in the 2024/2025 academic year consisting of 12 people. The main technique in data collection was carried out by means of tests and observations, while supporting techniques used interviews and documentation. The results of the study showed that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by YouTube Internet media can improve the learning outcomes of class VII students starting from cycle I and cycle II, namely 81 in cycle I increasing to 89 in cycle II. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by YouTube Internet media can improve the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education of class VII students of SMP Negeri 2 Belimbing Hulu.

Abstract

This research is aimed to improve student learning outcomes in the subjects of Catholic Religious Education and Character. In achieving the result of the research, the Problem Based Learning model was applied in the learning activities. The Problem Based Learning model is a learning model that presents a real problem for students as a starting point for learning and then resolved through investigation and applied by using a problem solving approach. This model provides the space for students to get involved actively. Through this active involvement, the students experienced the learning and showed their learning outcomes' improvement. This is shown from the results of research conducted in the 5th Grade Phase C students at SD Negeri 030436 Kerajaan. The Classroom Action Research carried out in two cycles, cycle I and cycle II, and showed positive results. The Learning outcomes in the P3 attitude and cognitive aspects got increased. The P3 attitude aspect in cycle I 77% as the average score became 84% in cycle II. Furthermore, the learning results of cognitive aspects 71.88 (cycle I) became 86.46 (cycle II). Hence, from these results, it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning model can improve the learning outcomes of 5th Grade Phase C students at SD Negeri 030436 Kerajaan.

Abstract

Religious education is an important component in the Indonesian national education system, which functions to shape the personality of students so that they are not only knowledgeable, but also have noble character. Based on the results of observations made by researchers at SD Negeri 20 Simbolon Purba, Palipi District Samosir Regency, researchers found several problems related to Catholic religious learning, namely limited teaching resources, lack of relevant materials and textbooks, lack of integration of religious values ​​in daily life, less relevant approaches to learning methods and models, the aim of this research is to determine the increase in learning outcomes by PBL method and increasing learning achievement targets for class IV students at SD Negeri 20 Samosir Purba, this research uses Classroom Action Research (PTK) with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Model in this research has been carried out in two cycles, this is proven by the increase in participant scores post test students can be can be seen from the details of the achievements of each cycle, namely in Cycle I New Developing 0 People = 0%, Adequate = 6 People = 75%, Proficient = 1 Person = 12.5%, Proficient = 1 Person = 12.5%. Meanwhile in Cycle II New Developing = 0 people = 0 %, Decent = 1 person = 12.5 %, Capable = 4 people = 50 %, Proficient = 4 people = 50 %, and the average value shows an increase from a score of 71, 25 eligible categories become 85 with the advanced category

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in motivation and cognitive and affective learning outcomes in the independence dimension through the PBL model in students at SMK NEGERI 4 TEBING TINGGI The study is based on a research problem, namely the lack of enthusiasm and motivation of students in learning due to inadequate methods, systems and learning resources, so I took the initiative to use the PBL method so that students are able to collaborate to unite interests and participate in group discussions independently or together. (insert some problems). This type of research is classroom action research with research steps, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection in each cycle. This study consists of two cycles. The research location at SMK NEGERI 4 TEBING TINGGI for class X students with the material I AM A UNIQUE PERSON The research time was carried out in September 2024. The data collection technique used a learning outcome test and an affective observation rubric for the independence dimension The data analysis technique used a quantitative descriptive technique. The results of the first cycle of research were that 3 students had only 25% success or only 1 person completed and 2 people had not completed 75% ). The results of the cycle II study are that at this cycle meeting there was a significant and very interesting increase because students were able to explore their potential in terms of examining information by watching learning videos and concluding well and structured with good sentences and language. 75% were very good and 25% were good. So this process can be said to be successful in obtaining learning outcomes and motivation if averaged out, it has been towards proficient at the end of cycle 2. In achieving the targeted motivation and learning outcomes of students, they have been able to reach the maximum threshold so that at the cycle 1 meeting it was clear that there were so many changes in students' interests and desires to get lessons that were also quite good, by holding group discussions, students were also able to provide responses independently to demonstrate the results of group discussions, increasing motivation and learning outcomes reaching 93.3%. From the results that exist that the PBL method has a very large influence on the motivation and learning outcomes of students both in terms of group discussions and independently. In the future, the school will implement learning with PBL comprehensively so that the teaching and learning process is more effective and efficient and has its own impression for teachers, especially for students at SMK NEGERI 4 TEBING TINGGI.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of cognitive and affective learning outcomes in the dimensions of Faith, Devotion to God Almighty and Mutual Cooperation through the PBL model for students at SD Negeri 102005 Durian Tinggung. This type of research is classroom action research with research steps, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection in each cycle. This study consists of two cycles. The research location is at SD Negeri 102005 Durian Tinggung. For grade V students with the material King David the Wise As. The time of the study was carried out in September 2024. The data collection technique used a learning outcome test and an affective observation rubric. The data analysis technique used a quantitative descriptive technique. From the results of the study, there was an increase in cognitive learning outcomes by 35% in the Proficient criteria and 45% in the Proficient criteria and 20% in the Eligible criteria. Affective Learning Outcomes using the PBL learning model have been proven to improve the affective learning outcomes of students at SD Negeri 102005 Durian Tinggung on the material King David the Wise. The results of the improvement can be seen from the number of students in cycle I, 100% of whom entered the Proficient criteria and in cycle II there was a significant change, namely 100% entered the Proficient criteria.

Abstract

Learning in Class X, Phase E, at SMA PGRI Purwoharjo-Banyuwangi in the subject of Catholic Religious Education and Character Development with the topic "Conscience" has shown limitations in the variety of teaching methods. This has impacted the low learning outcomes of students and the failure to achieve the target in the competent and developing categories as expected. The average learning outcomes before the intervention showed that only 30% of students achieved scores above the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM), while the rest were in the non-competent category. This study aims to improve student learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method, supported by video media. The PBL method was chosen because it encourages students to actively think critically, identify problems, and find relevant solutions independently. The use of video as a supporting medium aims to visualize abstract concepts, thereby strengthening students' understanding of the subject matter.This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects consisted of 9 Catholic students, and the material discussed included the concept of conscience according to Catholic Church teachings, the steps for making sound decisions based on conscience, and the application of moral principles in everyday life. The instruments used in this study included learning outcome tests, observation sheets, and interviews to measure student engagement and understanding.The success indicators of this study include the students' ability to formulate moral problems related to conscience, ask critical questions, answer questions based on analysis from various sources, and their ability to make ethical decisions in line with Catholic moral principles. In Cycle I, the percentage of students who reached competence was only 68%, with many students still struggling to understand the application of conscience in daily life. However, in Cycle II, the results showed a significant improvement, with 85% of students achieving competence and progressing as expected. This improvement was also evident from the observation of student activities in class, where active participation and critical thinking skills improved. In addition to cognitive observations, affective data comparisons from Cycle I and Cycle II showed an increase in the critical thinking dimension of the Pancasila Student Profile (P3) character, rising from 69.44% to 87.88% during the learning process using the PBL method. Thus, learning with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method, supported by E-LKPD on the Pancasila Student Profile (P3) character in the dimensions of Creative and Critical Thinking, has had a positive impact by enhancing the Critical Thinking dimension of the Pancasila Student Profile (P3) in students. This study proves that the application of the PBL method, supported by video media, not only improves student learning outcomes but also facilitates the development of critical thinking skills and problem-solving relevant to everyday life. Furthermore, students demonstrated a better understanding of how conscience plays a role in moral decision-making. The suggestions based on the results of this study emphasize the need for more interactive and contextual learning methods, especially in the subject of Catholic Religious Education and Character Development. The use of visual media, such as video, is recommended as an effective tool to clarify abstract concepts and motivate students to participate more actively in the learning process. Overall, the focus on the critical thinking dimension using the PBL method with video assistance has proven effective in improving critical thinking and academic performance in the subject of Catholic Religious Education in Class X at SMA PGRI Purwoharjo

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of maximum student learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education subjects in Class VII SMP Negeri 1 Belimbing. Efforts to improve learning outcomes in Catholic Religious Education are continuously developed by the government and schools through curriculum improvement. This Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model is designed with stages of solving problems, students will explore the concepts they must master themselves, and students are activated to ask questions and argue through discussions, hone investigative skills, and undergo other scientific work procedures. The purpose of this research is designed to develop effective learning strategies and determine the learning outcomes of students in Catholic Religious Education subjects with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The mode of this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of one meeting and four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 12 students of class VIIA SMP Negeri 1 Belimbing. Data collection techniques were in the form of tests and observations. Data analysis and processing techniques are carried out periodically at the end of each cycle, the technique used in data analysis is descriptive qualitative. The success indicators in this study can be seen from the abilities and activities of students while learning by using the PBL model from the achievement of students' scores at the end of the cycle with indicators of proficient = 40%, capable = 50%, feasible = 10% and newly developing = 0% students are also expected to be able to reach the target with a score of 48 on each indicator of a sense of responsibility. The results of this study can be concluded that the results in cycle one there were 3 students in the advanced category with a percentage of 25% increased, in the second cycle there were 5 people who were in the advanced category with a percentage of 42%. Thus it can be concluded that using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method can improve the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education class VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Belimbing.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education for class VIII (eight) students at SMP Marsudirini Tualang through the problem based learning (PBL) method. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK). The research sample consisted of 26 students. The research was conducted in 2 (two) cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 (four) components, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. Based on data analysis, the increase in student learning outcomes in cycle I was 75% while in cycle II it increased by 91%. Therefore, based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the problem based learning (PBL) learning method can improve student learning outcomes in the subject of Catholic Religious Education and Character Education for class VIII (eight) at SMP Marsudirini Tualang.
