Abstract

The low number of halal certifications in Indonesia, reaching only 6,4 million out of 30 million culinary MSMEs, raises consumer doubts and decreases purchase intentions. This issue is compounded by the low level of halal awareness among the public, particularly the youth who lack understanding of the halal concept, as well as ineffective social media promotions that merely copy trends without clear objectives, leading to a decline in buying interest. This study aims to analyze the influence of halal certification, halal awareness, and promotion on the purchase intention of Se'Indonesia products among Muslim consumers in Surabaya. A quantitative research method was employed, utilizing primary data obtained from an online questionnaire distributed to 120 respondents selected via purposive sampling, and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that halal certification, halal awareness, and promotion have a positive and significant effect on purchase intention, both partially and simultaneously, with a combined contribution of 81.6%. This research can serve as a reference for policies or decisions and provide insights for related parties.

Abstract

TikTok has become one of the social media platforms that has shown rapid growth in recent years. Through TikTok Shop, users can easily purchase products directly via the videos presented, without having to switch to other platforms or apps. However, consumers also consider factors that influence purchasing decisions, such as price, product quality, and consumer trust. This study was conducted to determine the influence of price, product quality, and consumer trust on purchasing decisions for halal products via TikTok Shop among Gen Z Muslim consumers in Surabaya. This study employed a quantitative approach using an associative method. A total of 112 respondents were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire, tested, and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS Windows 25. The results indicate that price and product quality have a partial, positive, and significant effect on purchasing decisions. Meanwhile, consumer trust does not have a significant partial effect on purchasing decisions. However, price, product quality, and consumer trust all have a significant simultaneous impact on Gen Z Muslims’ decisions to purchase halal products through TikTok Shop. The findings of this study are expected to help businesses enhance their competitiveness and meet consumer needs in a competitive market.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Islamic branding, e-WOM, and product quality on the purchase intention of Kahf skincare among Generation Z in East Java. This research uses a quantitative approach with an associative research design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to male Generation Z aged 13–28 years who live in East Java and are familiar with Kahf skincare products. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with a total of 100 respondents. Data analysis was carried out using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. The results indicate that Islamic branding does not have a significant effect on the purchase intention of Kahf skincare, whereas e-WOM and product quality have a significant effect. These findings show that, in the context of male Generation Z consumers in East Java, purchase intention is driven more strongly by digital consumer information and perceived product quality than by Islamic branding, which tends to function as a baseline trust element rather than a primary purchase driver.

Abstract

The rapid acceleration of digitalization in Indonesia’s financial sector has transformed banking business models, particularly within Islamic banking institutions. However, limited empirical evidence exists regarding the comparative financial performance of Islamic digital banks and conventional Islamic banks, creating a significant research gap in evaluating the effectiveness of digital transformation. This study aims to analyze and compare the financial performance of Islamic banks and Islamic digital banks in Indonesia during the 2021–2025 period. Employing a quantitative comparative approach, the research examines key financial indicators, including Non-Performing Financing (NPF), Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR), and Net Profit Margin (NPM), to assess differences in financial stability, liquidity, and profitability. The findings reveal notable differences in several financial ratios between the two banking models, indicating that digital transformation has substantially influenced operational efficiency and profit generation. Islamic digital banks demonstrate relatively stronger adaptability in selected financial performance indicators. This study contributes to the growing discourse on Islamic digital finance and provides strategic insights for policymakers and banking institutions in developing sustainable digital-based Islamic banking systems

Abstract

This study aims to analyze entrepreneurial management as an effort to develop the economic independence of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) through the role of LAZISWA (Institution for Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah Management). The background of this research is based on the importance of economic self-reliance in supporting the sustainability of Islamic-based educational institutions. In this context, entrepreneurship becomes an effective strategy, particularly when it is managed systematically and supported by internal funding sources such as LAZISWA. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. The collected data are then analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques, which consist of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that entrepreneurial management in the pesantren has been implemented systematically through the application of integrated management functions in managing various business units. The presence of LAZISWA plays a significant role as a source of productive funding that supports the development and sustainability of these business units. The synergy between entrepreneurial management and the utilization of LAZISWA funds has encouraged the establishment of various productive enterprises, contributing to the economic independence of the pesantren, improving the welfare of its community members, and strengthening the entrepreneurial spirit among the students

Abstract

The dominance of the consumer market in Indonesia, now led by Generation Z Muslims, presents the culinary industry with the challenge of meeting food needs in accordance with sharia principles. In rapidly developing urban areas such as Surabaya, the dynamics of food and beverage consumption continue to soar, but have not been matched by the even distribution of official halal certification for every culinary product in circulation. Field conditions demonstrate this phenomenon, where some young Muslim consumers are still ignorant and continue to consume products whose halal status is not guaranteed, reflecting their cognitive understanding and spiritual depth. This study applies an associative quantitative approach through primary data collection from 131 respondents domiciled in Surabaya. Data were analyzed using techniques (SPSS) to test direct and indirect relationships between variables. The results of the complete test indicate that partially halal knowledge, halal awareness, and religiosity have a significant influence on purchasing decisions for halal food and beverage products. This study contributes to regulators and educational institutions in developing knowledge about halal in the food and beverage world for Generation Z.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology has greatly facilitated various aspects of life, one of which is in the trade sector, which has now shifted to online platforms. One of the most widely used applications for transactions is TikTok Shop. Although it offers convenience, online shopping also brings various problems, especially regarding the quality of products that do not match the description and the discrepancy in shipping times. This results in consumer dissatisfaction, as they often face difficulties when attempting to return items. This study aims to analyze online shopping practices on TikTok Shop from the perspective of Islamic economics, particularly in terms of transaction compliance with the principles of fiqh muamalah. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through direct interviews with students from Universitas Al Falah Assunniyah Kencong Jember who have made transactions on TikTok Shop. The findings indicate that online transactions on TikTok Shop often do not meet the valid requirements in Islam, particularly regarding the mismatch between the delivered goods and the description, as well as the buyer’s right to return goods. Therefore, a deeper understanding of the principles of fiqh muamalah in online transactions is essential to ensure that these trade activities align with Islamic regulations. This study also emphasizes the importance of implementing systems that provide guarantees for consumers in the form of the right of khiyar (option) to continue or cancel transactions

Abstract

Analyzes the optimization of Facebook-based digital marketing at Tadika Al-Fikh Orchard Parklands, an Islamic early childhood education institution in Malaysia facing a sharp enrollment decline, from 32 students in 2022 to 13 in 2025. The research problem covers three aspects, namely the management of digital marketing from a human resource perspective, the reasons Facebook Ads has not been utilized, and the effectiveness of Facebook in attracting parental interest and trust. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected from six purposively selected informants, an account manager, two teachers, and three parents, through semi structured interviews, participant observation of the institution's Facebook account, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana, covering data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that Facebook management is handled by a single person for all branches, which limits content consistency. Facebook Ads has not been utilized due to budget constraints, limited technical competence, and the fact that the account used is a personal profile rather than an official Facebook Page, which structurally cannot activate paid advertising features. Facebook marketing is found to be effective in building initial awareness among parents but has not yet been effective in converting that awareness into enrollment decisions. The study concludes that migrating to an official Facebook Page, strengthening human resource capacity, and allocating a dedicated advertising budget are essential steps to optimize the institution's digital marketing strategy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the optimization of a soft-selling-based promotional strategy through Facebook content at Taska Cendekiawan Ceria, Penang. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through Facebook content observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants consisted of the head of the childcare center, the teacher responsible for managing the Facebook account, and parents of enrolled children. Data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data trustworthiness was ensured through source, method, and theory triangulation. The findings indicate that Facebook promotional activities are still dominated by informational posts and documentation of daily activities, resulting in the suboptimal implementation of the three soft selling dimensions, namely feeling, implicit message, and image. This condition contributes to low audience engagement and limits the development of emotional connections and parental trust in the institution. The study suggests that promotional strategies can be optimized by developing storytelling-based content, delivering promotional messages implicitly, maintaining a consistent visual identity, and conducting regular engagement evaluations. This research proposes a soft-selling-based promotional strategy model that can enhance the effectiveness of Facebook promotion while strengthening the institutional image of Taska Cendekiawan Ceria as an early childhood education institution.

Abstract

Third-Party Funds (TPF) are the primary funding source for Islamic banks, yet the increasing number of customers does not always correspond to optimal growth in TPF. Likewise, although Hajj Savings based on the Wadiah Yad Dhamanah contract have become an increasingly popular savings product, empirical evidence regarding their contribution to TPF growth remains limited, particularly in regional Islamic banks. This study aims to examine the contribution of the number of customers and Hajj Savings funds under the Wadiah Yad Dhamanah contract to the growth of Third-Party Funds at PT Bank Sumut Sharia Sub-Branch Office Panyabungan. This study employed a quantitative associative approach using quarterly secondary data for the 2021–2025 period. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The findings reveal that the number of customers and Hajj Savings funds each have a positive and significant effect on Third-Party Funds, and jointly explain 85.3% of the variation in TPF growth. The study contributes empirical evidence that optimizing Hajj Savings products, alongside customer growth, can strengthen sustainable Third-Party Fund mobilization strategies in regional Islamic banking institutions.
