Abstract

Certification of MUI and ADDAI Dai as a da'wah product, which includes distribution strategies, pricing, and its impact on the people's economy. Certification of da'wah is an effort to improve the quality and competence of da'wah in Indonesia, which is expected to produce quality and broad-minded preachers. To disseminate information about this certification program, MUI and ADDAI utilize various communication channels, including social media. This approach aims to reach all da'wah in Indonesia effectively and efficiently. Although this certification is not profit-oriented, setting a reasonable fee to participate in the certification program is needed in order to support the sustainability of the program and provide access to more da'wah. By increasing the quality of da'wah through certification, it is hoped that there will be a positive impact on the people's economy. Quality preachers can provide a better understanding of the principles of Islamic economics to the community, thus encouraging participation in sharia-compliant economic activities. Through this research, it is hoped that new ways can be found to optimize the da'wah certification program in order to improve the quality of da'wah and its contribution to the people's economy.

Abstract

This article examines the paradigm of criticism in contemporary Islamic thought with a focus on philosophical analysis and its methodological implications. Through a literature study approach, this study explains how criticism as an epistemological paradigm develops in Islamic thought, which emphasizes the integration of reason, revelation, and experience. The study is conducted on the theoretical basis of criticism that originated from Kant's thought, then how the paradigm evolved and was adapted in the context of Islamic thought with distinctive characteristics. The results of the analysis show that the paradigm of criticism in contemporary Islamic thought has a distinctive feature in the form of a "tawazun" (balance) approach that harmonizes reason, revelation, and empirical experience. Its methodological implications are seen in the development of the jadal and burhan methods that influence Islamic epistemology and metaphysics, as well as their relevance in various contemporary Islamic disciplines. This study contributes to the development of philosophical discourse on the paradigm of criticism in Islamic thought and its relevance in facing the challenges of modernity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the philosophical thoughts of Ikhwān al-Ṣafā and Ibn Miskawaih and their relevance to contemporary Islamic education. Using a qualitative approach with literature study methods, this research explores the epistemological, ethical, and educational methodologies of both figures. The findings indicate that the collective-encyclopedic epistemology of Ikhwān al-Ṣafā and the systematic-individual approach of Ibn Miskawaih both emphasize the integration of knowledge with Islamic ethical values. The concept of al-wasath (the middle path) in Ibn Miskawaih’s ethics and the intellectual freedom promoted by Ikhwān al-Ṣafā provide a strong philosophical foundation for character education in the digital era. The synthesis of their ideas results in a holistic Islamic educational framework that addresses the dichotomy of knowledge and the moral crisis in modern education.

Abstract

The Abbasid Dynasty was a golden period in the history of Islamic civilization, especially in the fields of education and science. This study examines the Islamic education system that developed during that period, including institutional structures, teaching methodologies, and its contribution to the advancement of world civilization. Through a descriptive historical approach, this study reveals that the Abbasid education system was not only a model for the Islamic world, but also influenced the development of global education to this day.

Abstract

Prophetic education is an educational approach based on prophetic values ​​that aims to form a person who is faithful, rational, and just. This article aims to historically examine the implementation of prophetic values—tawhid, humanization, and liberation—in education during the time of the Prophet Muhammad SAW and their impact on the social transformation of Arab society. This study uses a qualitative approach with a historical study method through analysis of primary sources (sirah, hadith) and secondary sources (academic literature). The results of the study show that the Prophet's education not only instilled the teachings of tawhid spiritually, but also built awareness of humanity and social justice. This transformation succeeded in changing the structure of jahiliyah society into a civil community based on ethical and transcendental values. This study emphasizes the importance of revitalizing prophetic education in the current Islamic education system to answer modern social and moral challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and understand the dynamics of differences in thought between the Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hanbali schools of thought. The research method used in this study is library research. Data was obtained from secondary literature such as books, journals, scientific articles, and related documents. The procedure was carried out in three stages: literature identification, selection based on relevance and quality, and thematic analysis to develop a deep and contextual conceptual synthesis. The research findings indicate that the dynamics of Islamic thought are inseparable from the needs of the Muslim community in responding to the complexity of legal issues following the passing of Prophet Muhammad SAW. The emergence of the four major madhhabs—Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hanbali—is evidence of the development of Islamic thought institutions in formulating diverse methods of ijtihad based on the same legal sources. The methodological differences within each madhhab reflect the intellectual richness of the community, not division. This article examines the historical and methodological background of the formation of madhhabs as a form of adaptation of Islamic law to the socio-political realities of the Muslim community. By understanding the context of these differences, it is hoped that Muslims can respond to diversity of views wisely as a blessing and strength, not as a source of conflict.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of professional teaching ethics from the perspective of Islamic education and its relevance in addressing the challenges and dynamics of the modern era. The background of this research stems from the crucial role of teachers as professional educators, who are required not only to possess pedagogical competence but also strong moral integrity and ethical values. Employing a qualitative approach with the library research method, this study collects data through a critical review of classical and contemporary literature related to teaching ethics in Islam and the ethical challenges encountered by the teaching profession in the modern era. The findings indicate that professional teaching ethics in the Islamic educational perspective are rooted in the values of monotheism (tauhid), trustworthiness (amanah),sincerity (ikhlas),justice (‘adl), and compassion (rahmah), which are manifested in the teacher’s responsibilities toward students, society, and God (Allah SWT). In the modern context, these ethical principles remain highly relevant and are increasingly vital in addressing moral degradation, character crises, and the challenges posed by technology and globalization within the education sector. The analysis reveals that integrating Islamic ethical values into teaching practices can enhance teacher professionalism and foster the creation of a character-based and humanistic educational environment. This study recommends the internalization of Islamic ethical values within teacher education curricula and the reinforcement of moral development for educators in the digital era. Such efforts are expected to shape an education system that is more oriented toward spiritual and humanistic values, enabling educators to navigate contemporary challenges while upholding high standards of knowledge and morality.

Abstract

Modernisasi Barat telah memicu dinamika kompleks dalam masyarakat Muslim, memunculkan beragam respons terhadap ketegangan antara nilai tradisional Islam dan tuntutan zaman modern. Penelitian ini menganalisis respons-respons tersebut serta dampaknya terhadap perkembangan pemikiran Islam kontemporer, melalui pendekatan kualitatif dan studi literatur serta kasus. Hasil analisis menunjukkan tiga pola utama respons: resistensi total terhadap pengaruh Barat, adaptasi selektif yang mempertahankan prinsip Islam sembari menyerap unsur modern, dan sintesis kreatif yang melahirkan pemikiran Islam baru. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa interaksi antara Islam dan modernitas tidak selalu bersifat antagonistik, melainkan dapat menjadi peluang untuk merumuskan peradaban yang lebih inklusif, selama ada keseimbangan antara pelestarian identitas keagamaan dan keterbukaan terhadap perubahan.

Abstract

This study examines the history of Islam in Andalusia from its arrival in the 8th century to its eventual expulsion in the 15th century, using a constructivist approach to analyze the socio-political and cultural transformations during this period. The research highlights how Islamic civilization interacted with existing Visigoth and Roman traditions, creating a unique synthesis that significantly influenced Europe. The qualitative descriptive method and content analysis of historical literature, archaeological studies, and ancient manuscripts were employed to reconstruct the history of Islamic Andalusia. The findings reveal six distinct phases of Islamic rule, marked by intellectual flourishing, political fragmentation, and eventual decline due to internal conflicts and external pressures. The study underscores the lasting impact of Andalusia's Islamic legacy on European Renaissance and modern civilization.

Abstract

The Strategic Role of Halal Products in Empowering the Muslim Economy Halal products play a strategic role in empowering the Muslim economy, especially in Muslim-majority countries like Indonesia. This article aims to analyze the effectiveness of promoting halal products through digital da'wah approaches, branding strategies, and halal regulations in driving the growth of the halal industry and empowering the Muslim economy. The use of social media as a means of digital da'wah has proven effective in raising public awareness about the importance of consuming halal products. Halal branding strategies that leverage certification, Islamic imagery, and sharia-compliant marketing communication have successfully built consumer loyalty and increased product competitiveness in the global market. Furthermore, the implementation of halal regulations—particularly Indonesia's Halal Product Assurance Law provides a strong legal foundation for the development of the halal industry. Case studies from halal cosmetic brand Wardah and several MSMEs show that digital transformation accelerates market penetration and operational efficiency in halal businesses. This article concludes that the integration of digital da'wah campaigns, branding strategies, supportive regulations, and digitalization of the halal industry significantly contributes to the growth of sharia-compliant businesses and the economic well-being of the Muslim community. Recommendations are offered to industry players, policymakers, and the public to strengthen the halal ecosystem through continuous collaboration and innovation.
