Abstract

Background : Hypertension or High Blood Pressure is the major health problem in developed countries. Basic Health Research results (RISKESDAS) in Central Java (2007) showed 31,7% of Indonesia’s population suffer hypertension. According to data was taken from Semarang Health Department in 2009, there was Tlogosari Kulon village  had the greatest prevalence of Hypertension ( 6,35%) .Objective : To describes perceptions of people with hypertension related adherence to dietMethod : This was a qualitative research. The research subjects namely informant I (hypertension) and II (the closest informant I). Selection of informants used  purposive sampling technique with a maximal sampling variation  type. The total number of informants were 12 people. The data was collected through in  depth interview and observation methods using non-structure questionnaire with open-ended question . Triangulation source was  used related to validite  data.Results : There are informants who thinks sodium is iodized salt and foods that taste salty / savory;  several informants using herbal therapies in the treatment of hypertension;  all informants stated that access to get food preservation quite easily within the scope of the area;  most of the informants had known about the definition, symptoms and effects of hypertension;  the majority of informants have a habit of eating foods high in sodium;  support officers is very helpful in providing information on all things related to hypertension and its management; family support is very helpful in controlling dietary compliance; health facilities are useful in implementing a diet because it is fast, easy and inexpensive.Conclusion : All informants perceptions about dietary compliance is in compliance with the advice of health personnel and to avoid restrictions in terms of both behavior and food consumption. Educate the public needed to be specifically about the sodium.

Abstract

Background  : The main nutritional problem that many teenagers experience is Anemia. The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts about 27% of female adolescents in developing countries suffer from anemia. anemia in adolescents can be caused by several things such as teenagers' knowledge and attitudes to anemia. The provision of nutritional education is expected to increase student knowledge and attitudes about nutrition in anemia, especially for female students.Objective  :  The aims to Knowing effect of Providing Nutrition Education on Knowledge and Attitudes Regarding Anemia in students SMP N 31 Semarang.Method  : This study uses the True Experiment method design with a mixture of pre test post test control group design. The sample consisted of 27 treatment groups and 27 control groups. The data collected were data on knowledge and attitudes regarding anemia nutrition. The data explorer uses a questionnaire that was filled in by the respondent himself. Data analysis using Man Whitney test, Independent T Test and Anova Repeater measure.Result  : There was an effect of providing nutrition education on female students 'knowledge of anemia (p = 0,000) and there was an influence on the provision of nutrition education on female students' attitudes about anemia (p = 0,000).Conclusion  : The provision of nutritional education affects the knowledge and attitudes about anemia in Semarang City 31 Junior High School Students.

Abstract

Background  : The prevalence of gout arthritis in Indonesia there is no definitive data. Epidemiological surveys conducted in Bandungan, Central Java on WHO-COPCORD cooperation on 4,683 samples aged between 15-65 years found that the prevalence of gout arthritis in women was 11.7% (Darmawan, 2003). The use of drugs aimed at lowering uric acid levels can cause some side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea so that the level of adherence will decrease (M. Adib, 2011). Objective  : To analalysis determine the effect of tomato-lemon juice on uric acid level of adult women aged 40-60 years. Methods  : A true experimental research design type with a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. Number of respondents 20 treatments and 18 controls. Intervention was performed for 21 days with the measurement of uric acid at before and after intervention. The test used is paired t test, independent t test and ANCOVA with 95% confidence degree. Result  : paired t test showed no difference of pre and post in treatment group (p0,05). Analysis of the effect on the group with normal uric acid category p = 0.655, in the pre hyperuricemia group p = 0.235 and in hyperuricemia p = 0.221. There was a decrease in uric acid levels by 0.26 mg / dl in hyperuricemia but not significant. ANCOVA results show that juice will give significant effect if controlled with initial uric acid level (p = 0,00). Conclusion  : There was no effect of tomato-lime juice consumption on uric acid levels, but there was a decrease of 0.26 in the hyperuricemia group but not significant. It is recommended to do further research on hyperuricemia.

Abstract

Background: Most of housewives do not understand food sanitation hygiene yet. It caused by lack of education on households food sanitation hygiene. The importance of food sanitation hygiene education to prevent foodborne diseases. One of the educational media which can used is the educational fridge magnet series media.Objective: To assess the impacts of educational fridge magnet series media towards knowledge and attitude improvement related with housewives' hygiene food sanitation.Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design. Subjects were devided into two gropus, 31 subjects from the intervention group and 30 subjects in control group. In the intervention group, subjects were given educational fridge magnet series media and lecturing session, while the control group were given lecturing-session only. Data analysis were used Paired Sample T-test, Wilcoxon, Independent Sample T-test, and Mann-Whitney.Results: There were significant differences on housewives' knowledge before and after education in the intervention group (p=0,000) and control (p=0,015). There were differences on attitudes before and after education in the intervention (p=0,000) and control (p=0,022). Knowledge score were increased by 20,00 and attitude score by 9,59 in the intervention group after education with fridge magnet series media. In the control group, the knowledge score after education were increased from 3,66 only. Meanwhile, the attitude score showed decrease by 1,98. After education, there were differences in knowledge (p=0.000) and attitudes (p= 0,000) between the two groups.Conclusion: Educational fridge magnet series media has impacts on increasing housewives' knowledge and attitudes related food sanitation hygiene. Interventions with educational media more effective than lecturing-session.

Abstract

Background: The prevalence of anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia in 2013 was 37.1%. The prevalence of LBW in Central Java in 2013 was 9.7%. Whereas LBW in Bangetayu Health Center in 2013 and 2014 was 4.0%. The reproductive age is not optimal (age 20 years and 35 years) during pregnancy and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women is an important indicator of causes of LBW.Objective: . This research was conducted to find out the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of sanitation hygiene with the practice of sanitation hygiene in cooking food and biological quality in animal side dishes in Semarang City General Hospital.Methods: Research included in institutional nutrition with a crossectional approach. The research sample used was animal dishes made from chicken meat, the respondents who were used as the research were food cookers. The data taken includes knowledge, attitudes and practices on cooking staff and biological quality on animal dishes using questionnaires, observation and laboratory checks. To find out the relationship between variables tested with Rank Spearman and Pearson Product Moment.Results: Animal side samples 58.3% had good biological quality, 100% good sanitation hygiene knowledge, respondents sanitation hygiene attitude 66.7% did not support, respondents sanitation hygiene practices 50% good. There is no relationship between knowledge and attitudes with hygiene sanitation practices (p = 0.712 and p = 0.614). There is a significant relationship between the variables of hygiene sanitation practices and total bacteria (r = -0.706) with p = 0.01.Conclusion : Good sanitation hygiene practices will reduce total bacteria in food and will produce good biological quality. It is recommended to increase supervision of sanitation hygiene practices.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Nugget merupakan jenis makanan lauk-pauk berkadar protein tinggi yang terbuat dari bahan dasar hewani salah satunya adalah ikan lele yang memiliki nilai cerna protein 17,5%. Untuk meningkatkan nilai gizi pada nugget perlu adanya penambahan sayuran seperti wortel, bayam dan jagung karena sayuran merupakan sumber serat yang penting untuk menjaga kesehatan tubuhTujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan wortel, bayam dan jagung terhadap daya terima nugget ikan lele.Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian experimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan tiga perlakuan dan tiga pengulangan. Variabel penelitian ini adalah uji organoleptik (warna, aroma, rasa dan tekstur) nugget ikan lele dengan penambahan wortel, bayam dan jagung oleh panelis tidak terlatih.Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil sidik ragam didapat bahwa pada warna dengan nilai rata-rata paling tinggi 4,05 (suka), pada rasa dengan nilai rata-rata 3,86 (agak suka), pada aroma dengan nilai rata-rata 3,65 (agak suka), pada tekstur dengan rata-rata 3,84 (agak suka).Kesimpulan: Nugget ikan lele dengan penambahan wortel, bayam dan jagung berpengaruh nyata terhadap warna, rasa, aroma dan tekstur nugget ikan lele.

Abstract

Background: Cleanliness of food equipments are contributing to foodborne disease. Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia states that for the requirements of food equipment should not contain bacteria more than 100 colonies/cm2 and contains no bacteria Escherichia coli. Knowledge of food sanitation will affect the practice of food handler staff who are still not appropriate.Objective:To describe the knowledge and practice of washer staff and identification of Escherichia coli bacteria in eating utensil used in District General Hospital (RSUD) K.R.M.T Wongsonegoro Semarang.Method:This research is descriptive analysis, with observational study design. Sample of food equipment that is plate, glass, stainless plate, and spoon taken 32 samples with the repetition of the swabtest was done 2 repetitions.Laboratory test using swabtest test and MPN Escherichia coli in water. Univariate analysis is used to describe variable of washer staff knowledge, washer staff practice, and result of Escherichia coli identification. The relationship of knowledge and practice of washer staff using bivariate analysis.Results: Good knowledgeof washer staff are 56,3% and less knowledge are  43,7%. Practice of washer staff with good practice category are 62,5% and less category practice there are 37,5%. The results of the bacteriological identification of Escherichia coli in 32 samples of food equipment showed negative results and qualify Regulation Minister of Health Republic Indonsia No.715/Menkes/SK/V/2003,not containing the bacteria Escherichia coli. Analysis of Chi Square test data showed no significant relationship (p 0,05).Conclusion: The identification results of Escherichia Coli are negative on cutlery and it is accordance with the requirements of the Regulation Minister of Health Republic Indonesia No. 715/Menkes/SK/V/2003. There is no relationship between knowledge with the practice of staff washer.

Abstract

Background of Study: Diabetes prevalence in Indonesia increases and occupies the forth position of theworld highest number of patients. There are increasing of number DM patient visiting nutrition clinic indr.R.Goeteng Tarunadibrata general Hospital Purbalingga, 36.36% in 2008 and 52.17% in 2009. Thediabetes mellitus patient with bad glucose rate in 2008 is 35% and increased up to 40% in 2009. Themethod of using in nutrition clinic of Purbalingga General Hospital is List of Substitutive Foodcomposition. There is a new instrument of nutrient counseling called Carbohydrate Counting.Objective: To find out the difference of knowledge and understanding level between the instrument ofcarbohydrate counting with the list of substitutive food composition of diabetes mellitus in the nutritionclinic of dr.R.Goeteng Tarunadibrata General Hospital Purbalingga.Method: This study design was quasi experimental with pre and post test design. The sample was takenby using purposive sampling in 2 months from November – December 2010.Result: The subject with carbohydrate counting instrument has medium knowledge 14.2% and highknowledge 85.8%, in other side on subject with the list of substitutive food composition instrument hashigh knowledge 100%. The subject with carbohydrate counting instrument hasn’t understand 57.1%and understand 42.9%, in other side on subject with the list of substitutive food composition instrumenthasn’t understand 42.9% and 57.1% understand.The statistic result of knowledge level p = 0.48 for pretestand p = 0.213 for post-test and the understanding level p = 0.615 for pre-test and p = 0.193 for posttest.Conclusion: There is no difference of knowledge and understanding level between the instruments ofcarbohydrate counting with the list of substitutive food composition of diabetes mellitus in the nutritionclinic of dr.R.Goeteng Tarunadibrata General Hospital Purbalingga.

Abstract

Background : Treatment of hypertension in the long term can affect adherence and cause toxic effects, therefore it takes alternative treatment by utilizing nutrients in food, one of which is the antioxidant like as lycopene and flavonoid in tomato-lime juice.Objective : The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of tomato juicewith extra lime on blood pressure in women adults.Methods : This study was clinical nutrition research with True Experiment randomized repeated measure control group design. The subject were 39 women adult 40-60 years, 19 control groups and 20 in treatment. Intervention was performed for 21 days with the measurement of systolic and diastolic blood pressure every 1 week 1 time. The statistical analysis was done by Anova Repeated Measure test with 95% confidence degree.Results : Anova Repeated Measure show that tomato juice with extra limecan lowered systolic and diastolic blood pressure (α = 0.005, p = 0.002 and p = 0.038), while the level of energy, protein, fat, carbohydrate, fiber, sodium, and potassium did not affect in systolic and diastolic blood pressure.Conclusion : tomato-lime juice effectively lowered systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

Abstract

Latar belakang : Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) yang merupakan upaya pemberian layanan kepada anak usia 0-6 tahun melalui penitipan anak, kelompok bermain agar anak dapat tumbuh dan berkembang secara optimal. Stunting dapat menimbulkan gangguan tumbuh kembang anak.Faktor lain yang mempengaruhi adalah asupan zat besi dan seng serta pola asuh. Tujuan penelitian : Menjelaskan hubungan tingkat kecukupan zat besi, seng, kejadian stunting dan pola asuh dengan status perkembangan anak di PAUD wilayah kerja Puskesmas Tegowanu.Metode penelitian : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian bidang gizi masyarakat dengan pendekatan case control. Sampel penelitian adalah semua kasus dan kontrol dengan perbandingan 1 kasus dan 1 kontrol. Responden penelitian adalah ibu dari sampel. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi tingkat kecukupan zat besi seng, kejadian stunting, dan sikap pengasuhan. Uji yang digunakan adalah Chi Square dengan α = 0,05.Hasil : Tingkat kecukupan zat besi yang kurang pada kelompok kemungkinan ada penyimpangan sebesar 85,7% dan kelompok sesuai tahap sebesar 52,4%. Tingkat kecukupan seng yang kurang pada kelompok kemungkinan ada penyimpangan sebesar 85,7% dan kelompok sesuai tahap sebesar 57,1%. Kejadian stunting pada kelompok kemungkinan ada penyimpangan sebesar 38,1% dan kelompok sesuai tahap sebesar 9,5%. Sikap pengasuhan negatif pada kelompok kemungkinan ada penyimpangan sebesar 52,4% dan kelompok sesuai tahap sebesar 33,3%.Kesimpulan : Ada hubungan antara tingkat kecukupan zat besi dengan status perkembangan (p=0,019, OR= 5,455). Ada hubungan antara tingkat kecukupan seng dengan status perkembangan (p=0,040, OR= 4,500). Ada hubungan antara kejadian stunting dengan status perkembangan (p=0,030, OR= 5,846). Tidak terdapat hubungan antara sikap pengasuhan dengan status perkembangan (p=0,212).Saran : Kepada tenaga kesehatan yang bertugas di Puskesmas untuk melakukan penyuluhan tentang pentingnya kecukupan zat besi dan seng kepada ibu balita.
