Abstract

This community service activity aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Character Building program at Bandung University in enhancing student discipline. The methodology involves both quantitative and qualitative data analysis derived from surveys and interviews with students, program chairs, and academic personnel. The evaluation results indicate a significant improvement in student discipline, reflected in positive changes in behavior, increased participation in academic activities, and engagement in social projects. Students' awareness of discipline values and responsibility has also increased, creating a more positive academic atmosphere. This research implies that the character-building program is effective as a character-formation strategy, serving as a foundation for further development. The study also underscores the importance of direct student involvement in evaluation and emphasizes the need for ongoing monitoring to identify long-term changes. Practical implications include continuous improvement in program implementation and attention to various dimensions of the student experience.

Abstract

This activity aims to develop the potential of Tanjungmojo Village through the establishment of a Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDES), focusing on strengthening superior and competitive Human Resources (HR). The methods used include training and mentoring conducted in three main stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation, with active participation from village officials, community leaders, and BUMDES management. The results of the activity indicate an improvement in the participants' understanding of marketing strategies, product planning, and mapping the potential of village products, as well as the use of technology to support the performance of BUMDES HR. The conclusion from this activity shows that the training has been successful in providing the necessary foundational knowledge for the formation of BUMDES, although faced with challenges in communication and the varied backgrounds of the participants. Suggestions given include the need for ongoing evaluation, aligning perceptions between organizers and participants, and discipline in following the planned schedule. This activity paves the way for the economic improvement of Tanjungmojo Village through the effective and sustainable establishment of BUMDES.

Abstract

In 2020 - 2022, digital marketing practices will become increasingly prominent in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, which has driven the transformation of society towards broader use of the digital realm. Apart from being a marketing tool, digital applications also play an essential role as a source of inspiration for individuals interested in starting an independent business. Within the framework of community service activities, the service team from Merdeka University Malang, together with students, carried out community service activities through the creative promotion of MSMEs and video tutorials that were beneficial to the community. This service activity involves the active participation of twenty students who are members of two different teams, namely the team responsible for its implementation.

Abstract

This Community Service activity aims to help PKK mothers in Pasir Endah Village, Ujungberung District, Bandung City in making Jumputan batik with the aim of providing understanding in improving family welfare. The activity was carried out in the form of direct practice in making jumputan batik which was attended by approximately 30 residents of Pasir Endah sub-district, Ujung Berung District, Bandung City. Through this activity, it is hoped that it will provide benefits in that the women of PKK Pasir Endah, Ujung Berung District, Bandung City will have the skills to make jumputan batik so that they can improve the welfare of their families. Apart from that, it is hoped that PKK women will get an idea of how to form an MSME business which can be done after identifying and inventorying the potential of the artistic works owned by PKK women so that they can be developed to be more economically productive and they can also understand alternatives in carrying out efforts to find sources of funding by the aim of improving family welfare.

Abstract

Jodipan Colorful Village is one of the popular tourist destinations in Malang City, East Java. Behind its beauty, there is a community of women bead craftsmen who are still struggling to improve their economic welfare. Lack of financial literacy is one of the factors inhibiting the village's progress. This community service aims to increase financial literacy and empower women bead craftsmen in Jodipan Colorful Village. Activities carried out include socialization regarding basic financial concepts, financial management, and marketing strategies for bead products. The activity evaluation method is carried out through pre-test and post-test at each session. Apart from that, in-depth interviews and thematic analysis were also carried out with activity participants. To triangulate the data, in-depth interviews were also conducted with KWJ administrators. The results of the service show that the financial literacy of women bead craftsmen in the Jodipan Colorful Village has increased. This is evidenced by their increased knowledge of basic financial concepts, financial management and marketing strategies for bead products.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (PKM) aims to increase production efficiency and cost management in traditional herbal medicine businesses. Through a series of training and mentoring, this program focuses on implementing more effective and efficient cost management strategies, with the hope of increasing the competitiveness of herbal medicine products in the market. A qualitative approach was used to understand the obstacles and challenges faced by herbal medicine entrepreneurs in managing production costs. Qualitative data was collected through in-depth interviews with herbal medicine entrepreneurs and direct observation of the production process. Meanwhile, a quantitative approach is used to measure cost efficiency before and after the intervention. Quantitative data is collected through financial document analysis and surveys. The results of this program show a significant increase in production cost efficiency and participants' understanding of business financial management. The conclusion of this activity indicates that by implementing the right strategy, traditional herbal medicine businesses can further develop and compete in a wider market. Recommendations in the long term, product diversification and wider market penetration can be strategies to increase business sustainability. With a commitment to increasing efficiency and innovation, Satrio Turonggo Jati can continue to develop and make a positive contribution to the local and national economy.

Abstract

This activity aims to improve the religiosity of the younger generation in Gedawang Village, Banyumanik, Semarang City, by providing character development based on religious values. This program is expected to equip the younger generation with a strong moral foundation, so that they are able to avoid negative behavior and become role models in society. Data were collected through interviews with participants and local community leaders, and analyzed qualitatively to assess the impact of the program. The results showed a significant increase in the understanding and application of religious values ​​among participants. The younger generation showed more positive changes in attitudes, such as increased discipline, honesty, and participation in religious activities. Community leaders also reported improvements in behavior and increased social involvement among the younger generation. This program makes an important contribution to the character development of the younger generation by providing an effective model to improve their religiosity and morality. The findings of this program can be used as a basis for the development of similar policies and programs in other areas, in order to create a younger generation that is based on strong religious and moral values, and contributes positively to society.

Abstract

The mentoring and socialization activities in Jombok Village, Ngantang District, Malang Regency, aim to empower village women in developing the local creative economy. The main objective of this program is to improve women's skills and knowledge in production, marketing, and business management, so that they can optimize local potential and improve their family's welfare. The methods used include planning, implementation, and evaluation. This activity is carried out through workshops, practical training, and focus group discussions, with a participatory approach that actively involves participants. The results of the activity show that participants have significantly improved their skills, especially in digital marketing and small business management. The implementation of this activity has succeeded in encouraging several participants to apply new marketing strategies, which has an impact on increasing sales of their products. Important findings from this activity are the identification of the need for further training and access to better business capital, as well as the importance of infrastructure and technology support for the sustainability of creative businesses.

Abstract

This activity aims to evaluate the effectiveness of office administration training and mentoring activities in Jember Regency, Indonesia, in improving the skills of the young generation ready for work. The activity was carried out for two months by a team of lecturers from the Mandala Institute of Technology and Science, covering the planning, implementation, and qualitative evaluation stages. The training included theoretical modules and direct mentoring by lecturers, with a focus on office administration, information technology, and communication skills. The results of the training activities showed a significant increase in administrative skills and the application of information technology by participants. Intensive mentoring also helped participants overcome practical challenges in the work environment. An important implication in the form of positive results from this activity supports previous evidence that structured training and direct mentoring are effective in preparing young people to face the demands of the modern workplace. These implications can help in designing similar programs in the future to improve work readiness at the local and national levels.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of communication training on the skills of young people in Jember Regency, East Java, Indonesia. The method of this training activity used a qualitative approach by collecting data through in-depth interviews and observations during communication training conducted in Jember Regency, East Java, Indonesia. The results showed that the training was effective in improving participants' skills in public speaking, active listening, and communicating through digital media. Evaluation of participants showed consistent increases in self-confidence and the ability to convey ideas effectively. These findings emphasize the importance of investing in communication skills development as an integral part of individual development and social progress. The results of this study provide a strong foundation for the expansion and improvement of communication training programs in the future, with a focus on the integration of digital technology and adaptation to the diverse needs of participants.
