Abstract

Muhammad Arkoun, one of the modern Islamic thinkers, considers that the stagnation in the thinking of Muslims is still struggling with religious issues and has not moved from ready-made thoughts and without being assisted by thoughts that are initiative in accordance with current circumstances. The purpose of this study is to reveal how Arkoun offers his methodological study of the theory of reading the Quran, as well as how the correlation between the theory offered with the world of interpretation today. Basically, Arkoun has a desire for Muslims to become inclusive and tolerant people so that exclusive and intolerant thinking is dismantled and frozen. the issue of reading the Qur'an, Arkoun states that the Qur'an provides an infinite possibility of meaning. The appearance of a verse will always bring new interpretations, never certain and closed to a single interpretation. Arkoun's proposal is certainly a bold study in his reading of the Qur'an, because in it he re-questions the essence of revelation as the tresendent word of God and the discourse of revelation as a form of kalam in the immanent plain. Not a few Arkoun adopted some contemporary western science in interpreting the Qur'an, both linguistically, historically, anthropologically and others. These interpretive efforts have produced new interpretations that have never been done by Muslim scientists before.

Abstract

Memorizing the Al-Qur'an is obligatory and Allah has guaranteed the ease of memorizing it, but at the memorization level many find it very difficult, one way to overcome this is to use the muraja'ah method, namely repeating the reading that has been obtained so that you don't forget. The author focuses on the problem (a) how is the application of the murajaah method in strengthening the memorization of the Qur'an? (b) supporting and inhibiting factors. This study uses a qualitative descriptive field method, with observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data checking was carried out using triangulation, namely source and technique triangulation. The results showed that, (1) the murajaah method applied at the Syifa Orphanage has 5 techniques, namely murajaah to the teacher, murajaah by listening to individual methods, murajaah by listening to groups, murajaah alone and murajaah by listening to two people. The results of the memorization tests that have been carried out show that the memorization that has been memorized is stronger than the memorization that has not been memorized. . As for the inhibiting factors, the limitations of the teacher and the time of the condition of the students include background, fatigue, boredom and laziness

Abstract

Abstract

This article discusses tabarruj from the perspective of Indonesian mufasirs. Nowadays, women are often considered tabarruj when they leave the house adorned. However, not all women understand this. As a first step in contributing to the existing problems, we try to respond to the phenomenon with theological glasses, namely contextual interpretation of tabarruj verses. However, we limit this research to QS. al Nur [24] : 31, QS. al Nur [24] : 60 and QS. al Ahzab [33] : 33 by Hamka and Bisri Mustafa. The method used is thematic method by making Schleiermacher's hermeneutics as the analysis knife. This research looks for how the Indonesian mufasir views tabarruj and what if the interpretation is read through Schleiermacher's hermeneutic criticism. The result of this study is the concept of tabarruj according to the interpretation of Hamka and Bisri Mustafa is that it does not stop at the meaning of adornment. But more than that, both of them present the context of adornment that should be done by a woman. So if you look at the current social setting in Indonesia, this interpretation is still relevant to be applied.

Abstract

The phenomenon of Qur'anic tafsir continues to develop and change from tafsir bil Ma'tsur to tafsir bill Ra'yi, The phenomenon of transformation and development of tafsir is inseparable from the search for meaning by readers of the Qur'anic text, namely mufassir. This transformation then gave rise to the epistemology of interpretation. This article wants to periodize the thinking of interpreters from birth to contemporary today because changes in interpretation are influenced by epistemology, the epistemology of interpretation includes reason, sources of knowledge, methods, validation, and media. From this, the question arises, (1) How to identify the frame of mind and points of thought of interpretation from classical to contemporary? (2) What is the product of the transformation of the development of Islamic thought in Tafsir? This can be traced to the development of the human way of reason in the face of the Qur'anic texts. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive method with a historical approach and theory of The Historical Idea Qur’anic interpretation by Ignaz Goldziher. From the results of the study, five eras have significant transformations, namely; the time of the Prophet who used the Era of Revelation Reason (Birth Era), in the growth of Islam the emergence of Mystical thought (Formative Era), and the golden age of Islam used Ideological reason (Affirmative Era). The modern era emerged critical reason (Reformative Era). The emergence of the new media era today, gave birth to interpretation with the contextual-analogical reason (Anological Era) of Qur'anic interpretation texts, can be seen in the audio-visual interpretation of Gus Baha' in Q.S Thaha verses 17-18.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the dimension of sincerity (sincerity) in deeds according to the Qur'an and Sunnah, emphasizing the purity of intention, consistency in doing good, and independence from human praise. This study uses a qualitative method with textual analysis of relevant Qur'anic verses and hadiths. The findings show that sincerity encompasses relationships with both Allah and fellow humans, manifested through the concept of tawakkal (reliance on Allah) and fairness in social interactions. Sincerity in human relations creates an environment full of mutual understanding and compassion. In Islam, sincerity, derived from the Arabic word "khalasa" meaning purification, is about performing worship solely for Allah without seeking human praise. In the Qur'an, sincerity encompasses choice, purity from flaws, exclusivity, and the oneness of Allah. Sincerity is a prerequisite for the acceptance of deeds, prayers, and repentance, and it brings great benefits such as the acceptance of deeds, great rewards, and protection from satanic interference. Hadiths from Umar ibn al-Khattab, Abu Hurairah, and Abu Sa'id al-Khudri emphasize the importance of pure intentions. Sincerity helps in forming honest character, enhancing the quality of worship, social harmony, spiritual resilience, and work ethic. Understanding and applying sincerity supports individuals and communities to be responsible and have high integrity, hence the need to intensify education on sincerity for broad positive impacts.

Abstract

This study discusses the tradition of reading Surat Yasin, al-Waqiah and al-Mulk after Maghreb prayers at the Ar-Raudlah Al-Qur'aniyyah Islamic Boarding School Sobontoro Tulungagung, as well as exploring the meaning inherent in the tradition of reading these selected letters. This paper uses an ethnographic approach through Living Quran research with qualitative descriptive methods, and uses Karl Maanheim's sociological theory of knowledge. The results of the research with this analysis can be found that the meaning of the tradition of reading Surat Yasin, al-Waqiah and al-Mulk after the Maghreb prayer is: ojective meaning, the students are enthusiastic and respond well to the tradition of reading the three letters. The meaning of expressiveness, the students feel that they get fadhilah from what they have tried, including getting peace of heart and mind, open feeling and cheapness. The meaning of documentary, the perpetrators do not fully know that the traditions they carry out will have a positive impact on them and can be used for a hold in the world until the end of the day. So the routine activity of reading selected letters is very positive for the students to practice for istiqamah and hope for the pleasure of Allah SWT.

Abstract

Nawawi al-Bantani is known as a great scholar from Banten, on the west coast of Java who has expertise in various Islamic disciplines, including hadith science. This paper explores Nawawi al-Bantani's thoughts in the field of hadith science as contained in his book, namely the book Tanqih al-Qaul al-Hatsits fi Syarh Lubab al-Hadits. The book Tanqih al-Qaul is a book written by al-Bantani to lecture on the content of the book Lubab al-Hadits by as-Suyuthi. Although it is a type of syarah book, the book of Tanqih al-Qaul not only contains lectures on the hadiths in the book Lubab al-Hadits, but also contains al-Bantani's own thoughts as the author of the book Tanqih al-Qaul, in the field of hadith science. The research method used in this paper is a qualitative method with the type of library research. Meanwhile, as a data analysis knife, an analytical descriptive method is used with the type of analysis used, namely critical analysis. The results of the study show that the thinking of al-Bantani hadith is: the ability to use dha'if hadith in terms of fadhail al-a'mal and not in the field of law and creed, the importance of sanad for the validity of hadith narration, as well as the explanation of the definitions of basic terms in hadith science which include shahih, isnad, sanad, and matan. Al-Bantani's thinking in the field of hadith science also shows his independence from as-Suyuthi. This means that al-Bantani not only re-copied all the thoughts of as-Suyuthi in the book Lubab al-Hadits, but also gave rise to his own thoughts.
