Abstract

Background: Online games have become one of the most popular forms of entertainment among adolescents, offering social and emotional engagement. However, excessive gaming can lead to addiction, especially during the developmental stage of adolescence. Objective: This study aims to examine the prevalence of online game addiction among senior high school students. Methods: This research employed a descriptive quantitative method with a cross-sectional design. The population included all students in grades X and XI at Government Senior High School 1 Kertasari during the 2024–2025 academic year. A total sampling technique was used, involving 452 students who actively play online games. Data were collected using the POGQ (Problematic Online Gaming Questionnaire). Results: The majority of respondents were male (62.8%) with an average age of 17 years. Most played Mobile Legends (66.7%), used smartphones as their primary gaming device (97.6%), had been playing online games for ≥ 3 months (88.5%), played for ≤ 3 hours per session (65.5%), and played games daily (93.1%). Regarding addiction levels, 57.3% were categorized as moderate, 42.5% as high, and only 0.2% as low. The domain with the highest average score was social interaction (M = 10.78, SD = 2.064), indicating that peer engagement and the need for social connection play a significant role in adolescents’ gaming behaviours. Conclusion: The majority of students exhibited a moderate level of online game addiction, indicating a pattern of frequent gaming driven by psychological and social needs, particularly the desire for peer interaction and acceptance. Recommendations: Schools, parents, and mental health professionals should collaborate in developing structured interventions and providing healthy social alternatives to help adolescents achieve a balanced lifestyle and prevent gaming-related problems.

Abstract

The lack of knowledge among student’s about the prevention of conjunctivitis leads to many students contracting conjunctivitis. Conjunctivitis is the most common eye disease in the world after cataracts and glaucoma. Prevention of conjunctivitis can be achieved by improving personal hygiene, maintaining cleanliness in the invironment, and increasing knowledge about conjunctivitis. One effort that can be made to enhance student’s knowledge about conjunctivitis is by providing health education. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of health education media on students knowledge about conjunctivitis. This research was a quantitative pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample for this study consisted of 77 students selected throught probability sampling using the cluster sampling technique. The statistical analysis in this study employed the Wilcoxon test. Based on the analysis result, it was found that the short story media significantly influenced students knowledge about the prevention of conjunctivitis ( p-value 0.00(a ≤ 0.05) ). Short story media is highly effective in improving students knowledge about the prevention of conjunctivitis, making it a viable alternative media for health education.

Life in prison can be seen as a situation that can cause ongoing problems and can cause psychiatric symptoms such as anxiety. Anxiety in WBP has cognitive and psychological threats, such as having no direction to live and feeling insignificant, especially for individuals who experience high anxiety and will experience disruption in the future. Abstract

Post-stroke patients often experience disturbances in movement function due to paralysis, either partial or total paralysis. One of the solutions to help post-stroke patients train their range of motion is by administering mirror therapy. This study was conducted at the Prambon Health Center to examine the impact of mirror therapy on post-stroke patients' ability to adjust physically. The IPAQ (International Physical Activity Questionnaire) was employed as a measuring tool as part of this study's pre-experimental, one group, pre-posttest design approach. The study's population consisted of 21 respondents, and using a total sampling technique, 21 respondents were selected as the sample. Data were analyzed by Paired t-test. The results showed that before the intervention was given most of the respondents (66.7%) had moderate physical activity criteria and after the intervention was given most of the respondents (85.7%) had moderate physical activity criteria. The results of the analysis showed that the p value of 0.000 means that there is an effect of mirror therapy on physical adaptation in post-stroke patients. Mirror therapy can affect physical adaptation by providing visual stimulation to the brain through observing healthy body parts through mirror reflections. The main key to the success of the mirror therapy intervention is that it occurs when the respondent is serious and focused in carrying out each stage of this intervention. Respondents are expected to apply this intervention as often as possible so that the range of motion can be honed properly and physical adaptation can increase.

Abstract

Adolescents experience physical and psychological changes, making them vulnerable to external influences. The lifestyles of those around them easily sway their identity-finding process, and they often take shortcuts without considering the consequences. Adolescent resilience depends on self-concept. Resilient adolescents must be strong-willed, uninfluenced, and positive in adverse situations. The design of this study used a description correlation with a cross- sectional approach. A proportionate stratified random sampling technique was used to sample 240 respondents. Marlen S's self-concept and resilience scales from Wagnild and young questionnaires adapted by Aptini Dwi were used as the instrument. Pearson correlation was used to analyse data. The findings indicated that the mean age of the participants was 16.24 years. Approximately 74.2% of the population identifies as female. All participants identify as followers of the Islamic faith. Most participants (93.5%) did not have prior experience attending a boarding junior high school. Most participants reside in households with both their biological mother and father (97.5%), and the prevailing marital status of the respondents' parents is that they remain in a committed relationship (82.9%). The self-concept variable had an average score of 116.65 (±13,782), whereas resilience had an average score of 118.15 (±21,372). The analysis findings indicate a statistically significant association between self- concept and adolescent resilience, with a p-value of 0.000 (p <0.05). Furthermore, the correlation between these two variables is modest, with a coefficient of r = .542.
