Abstract

In today's modern era, social media is not just a medium for finding information, but also provides an opportunity for everyone to be able to see and find out what activities are carried out by other people on social media and find out valuable activities carried out by other people and compare with the experience of the individual. With this, there will be anxiety and fear of not being connected to each other with activities carried out by other people on social media, which is better known as Fear Of Missing Out (FoMo). At this time, first-year students need a good pattern of self-regulation, or better known as self-regulation. With good self-regulation, efforts are made to provide good learning patterns and interaction patterns while sitting on the lecture bench. The purpose of this study is to find out whether there is a relationship between self-regulation and fear of missing out (FoMo) in new students who use the Tiktok application. The population is 46,456 students, and as many as 348 students become the research sample, using purposive sampling technique. This study uses two scales, namely the self-regulation scale (9 items) and the Fear Of Missing Out (FoMo) scale (10 items). Correlation analysis shows a negative relationship between Self-Regulation and FoMo (rxy = -119 with a value of p = 0.026 (p <0.05), this means that the higher the FoMo, the lower the Self-Regulation, vice versa the lower the FoMo, the higher Self Regulation for new students using the Tiktok application. Abstract

Education gives students access to knowledge and information that has been collected and organized. Punishment is very important to change student behavior in a safe and orderly school environment. This study reveals the types of punishment and the impact of punishment on high school students using an indigenous psychology approach. This research was conducted on 430 high school students in Bukittinggi City. The method used is descriptive qualitative with an indigenous psychology approach, using an open-ended questionnaire with the stages of open coding, axial coding, and selective coding analysis. The results of this study found that the types of punishment that are preferred and make students not burdened are physical punishment, emotional punishment, and procedural punishment. The impact of punishment that is favored and makes students unburdened consists of academic risk, physical impact, and impact on relationships. The types of punishment that students dislike are physical punishment, emotional punishment, administrative punishment, and punishment that has a long-term impact. The impact of students disliking punishment in the form of threats to academics, threats to the self, risk of new negative behaviors, and social risks. The ways students avoid punishments they don't like include compliance, unexpected behavior, and camouflage/fiking.

Abstract

Higher education is a formal educational institution that provides formal education with the aim of producing students with graduates who have skills, commendable character, quality and are ready to enter the world of work. However, in this process final year students are often faced with various challenges. One of these challenges is career indecision. This research was conducted with the aim of finding out the description of career indecision among final year students at Padang State University based on study program and gender. This research was studied using quantitative research with a comparative approach. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire technique distributed via Whatsapp and Instagram to 277 respondents from 9 study programs at Padang State University. The data analysis technique in this research was carried out using the t-test, one way anova and two way anova. The results obtained in this research indicate that career indecision among final year students at Padang State University is in the low category. This research illustrates that final year students at Padang State University have sufficient motivation regarding career-related decision making. Apart from that, final year students also have sufficient information about matters relating to themselves or the world of work they will be involved in, and there are also no internal or external conflicts within the subject in determining his career choice.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Hubungan Optimisme dengan Work Readiness dalam menghadapi persaingan di dunia kerja pada Siswa Kejuruan Menengah (SMK) di Negeri kota Padang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan berbasis survei. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa SMK N di kota Padang. Subjek penelitian merupakan siswa SMKN kelas 12 di kota Padang yang berjumlah 238 siswa. Alat ukur penelitian ini menggunakan skala optimisme dan work Readiness. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu correlation product moment untuk menguji adanya hubungan antar variabel. Hasil uji hipotesis ini menunjukkan koefisien korelasi r=0,199 dengan signifikansi p = 0,002 (p<,0,05). Hal ini menandakan bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan antara optimisme dengan work readiness dalam menghadapi persaingan di dunia kerja pada siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) Negeri di kota Padang.

Abstract

Education and humans cannot be separated in life because education can create a skilled, intelligent and qualified young generation. Education has a role in improving human resources and is one of the efforts to realize a cultural heritage from one generation to another through learning. The quality of education in Indonesia is still experiencing problems and is often discussed by experts. In one of the provinces in Indonesia, namely West Sumatra, it can be found that the conditions for high school learning activities are not yet optimal. This is because the quality of learning outcomes in class is still above average and has not yet reached maximum results. In the learning process, there are learning methods that can make students interact with each other, one of which is the punishment method, where this learning method will make teachers and students interact with each other. Punishment is an effort made by teachers to improve and direct students in a better direction with the hope of changing and motivating students so that they avoid existing punishments. This research aims to examine the dynamics of the concept of punishment in the relationship between teachers and students. The use of qualitative methods in this research is used because this research applies an indigenous study of the dynamics of the concept of punishment in the relationship between teachers and students. The research was conducted using observation, interviews and documentation on 430 class XI high school students in Bukittinggi City. The results of this research show that the punishment given to high school students in teacher-student relationships can take the form of physical punishment, verbal punishment, punishment involving activities, academic punishment, group punishment, and emotional punishment. The psychological impacts experienced by high school students after receiving punishment from their teachers include hating their teachers, feeling embarrassed, lacking self-confidence, hurting or affecting students' mental health, feeling tired, and feeling burdened.

Abstract

Dengan sistem perkuliahan online selama COVID-19, kehidupan mahasiswa yang biasanya identik dengan kesibukan dalam kampus dengan berbagai kegiatan sosial lain, akhirnya memiliki banyak waktu sendiri. Hal ini cukup dikhawatirkan mengingat mahasiswa yang seharusnya aktif menjadi cenderung acuh dengan kondisi sosial. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran social interest pada mahasiswa UKM Bahasa Asing Universitas Negeri Padang Pasca COVID-19 di Tinjau dari Jenis Kelamin. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan teori social interest. Teknik sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah accidental sampling. Pada penelitian ini memakai teknik analisis data uji t-test. Simpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu tidak ada perbedaan social interest terhadap mahasiswa UKM Bahasa Asing Universitas Negeri Padang pasca COVID-19 ditinjau dari jenis kelamin.

Abstract

Remaja UPTD Panti Asuhan Sosial "Budi Utama" di Lubuk Alung diteliti untuk memahami bagaimana gratitude mempengaruhi pshycological wellbeing mereka. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menyasar remaja di UPTD Panti Sosial Bina Remaja "Budi Utama" di Lubuk Alung. Jumlah sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 61 remaja. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan sampling jenuh sebagai strategi sampel yang dipilih. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala Likert dengan enam item. Sangat Tidak Setuju (STS), Tidak Setuju (TS), Agak Tidak Setuju (ATS), Agak Setuju (AS), Setuju (S), dan Sangat Setuju (SS). Total 48 item pertanyaan yang digunakan, mencakup kedua variabel. Koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,386 diperoleh dengan menggunakan regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai p yang signifikan sebesar 0,002 <0,005. Hal ini mendukung hipotesis alternatif (Ha). Temuan dari uji hipotesis menunjukkan koefisien R Square sebesar 0,149, yang menunjukkan bahwa gratitude menyumbang sekitar 14,9% dari varians dalam psychological well being. Abstract

Prostitution in adolescents is already very worrying because of the many cases of exploitation of adolescents. Adolescent prostitutes who undergo rehabilitation because they are arrested by the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) will be a source of pressure on their lives, especially if the perpetrators of prostitution are teenagers, they tend to be more vulnerable to experiencing various negative emotional and psychological impacts due to punishment such as guilt, loss of freedom, feelings of shame, economic sanctions and will affect physical adjustment but also individual psychology. This study aims to look at the description of the meaning of life in adolescent prostitutes undergoing rehabilitation at PSKW Andam Dewi Solok. This research uses a phenomenological approach with qualitative methods. Data collection was carried out using semi-structured interview techniques with 2 (two) subjects who were teenage prostitutes undergoing rehabilitation at PSKW Andam Dewi Solok. The data analysis technique in this study used the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) technique. The results of this study found that the subject of teenage prostitutes who are undergoing rehabilitation can achieve 5 (five) stages in finding the meaning of life proposed by Bastaman. Then, the factors that influence the meaning of life in this study are self-understanding, positive behavior, relationship intimacy, deepening the chess of values, and worship.

Abstract

Dimasa pandemi covid-19 melanda dunia, proses pembelajaran jarak jauh yang dilaksanakan menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan dengan pelaksanaaan proses pembelajaran sebelum adanya pandemi. Selama pandemi, mahasiswa mengalamai berkurangnya rasa motivasi, kelelahan secara fisik maupun mental, hingga kejenuhan kronis dan stress berkepanjangan (Fernandez-Castillo, 2021; Hutauruk & Sidabutar, 2020; Sari, Setiawan, Rajiani, & Muin, 2020).  Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat hubungan dukungan sosial dengan burnout akademik pada mahasiswa yang melakukan pembelajaran jarak jauh, Desain penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif korelasional karena bertujuan untuk mencari hubungan dua buah variabel atau lebih (Winarsunu, 2009). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengumpulan data dengan skala sikap model Likert yang terdiri dari 2 angket yaitu dari skala dukungan sosial dan skala burnout akademik. Alat ukur yang digunakan merupakan peneliti konstruksi sendiri dari teori Sarafino (2006) untuk dukungan sosial dan untuk burnout peneliti konstruksi juga dari teori Maslach et al., (2001). Kedua skala tersebut kemudian disebarkan secara daring menggunakan media Google form kepada subjek. Berdasarkan uji korelasi diatas didapatkan hasil nilai signifikansi .002 (p < 0,05) dengan nilai r = -500. Maka dari itu bisa diambil kesimpulan bahwa adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara dukungan sosial dengan brunout akademik, Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak.

Abstract

Punishment merupakan pemberian stimulus oleh guru yang tidak menyenangkan atas konsekuensi yang dilakukan oleh siswa yang dinilai buruk atau melanggar. Tujuan dari diberikannya punishment adalah untuk menumbuhkan rasa jera atas Tindakan atau perbuatan negatif siswa, mencegah terjadinya sebuah pelanggaran, serta memberikan motivasi kepada siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tentang konsep hukuman yang didapatkan oleh siswa Perempuan, ditinjau dari persepsi siswa sebagai hukuman yang disukai dan tidak membuat siswa terbebani. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan psikologi indigenous (Indigenous Psychology Approach) dengan jumlah partisipan sebanyak 255 orang siswa SMA kelas XI yang berada di wilayah kota Bukittinggi.data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan Teknik Open Ended Questions. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan siswa perempuan memiliki pandangan bahwasannya ada hukuman yang mereka sukai. Dengan demikian, guru dapat mempertimbangkan kembali,  punishment seperti apa yang dapat diberikan agar siswa tidak mengulangi perbuatan yang negatif dan memiliki rasa jera atas Tindakan yang mereka lakukan.
