Abstract

The objective of this research is to apply the strategy formulation framework in arranging a competitive strategy for Barakesna coffee shop and angkringan. The object of this qualitative descriptive research is Barakesna, a coffee shop with Javanese concept in Malang City, East Java. Barakesna coffee shop and angkringan is a food-and-beverage business that is currently engaged in an increasing competition. This research starts by conducting external environment analysis to identify the business’ opportunities and threats, followed by internal environment analysis to identify its strengths and weaknesses. The result of this analysis was used as the input for IE matrix, SWOT matrix, and QSPM analyses. Based on the outcome of the analysis using IFE and EFE matrix, the observation continued to the IE matrix, which suggests that Barakesna is on the fifth cell, indicating that the company is in hold-and-maintain condition. Then, the results of the QSPM analysis show that market penetration is the suggested strategy with the TAS score of 5.05. The company is advised to focus its business strategy on massively enhancing the market share of its products. The implementation of this strategy is believed to be helpful for the business to increase its competitiveness amid the fierce competition.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to identify, analyze, and explain the effects of education level, work experience, and work discipline on the career development of employees at the Regional Financial Management Agency of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. This quantitative explanatory research assesses the causal relationship between its variables. From 257 member of the population of the agency’s employees, 160 were selected as the respondents through probability sampling method and random sampling technique. Here multiple linear regression was used as the analysis technique, supported by instrument test and classical assumption test. The hypothesis testing was performed by incorporating the t-test, which was used to identify the partial effect of the independent variables on the dependent variable. All of the analyses were conducted in SPSS 26. This study finds that education level, work experience, and work discipline partially have positive and significant effects on the said career development. These findings suggest that the higher the employees’ education, experience, and discipline, the better the development of their career.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui,menganalisis, dan menjelaskan pengaruh tingkat pendidikan, pengalaman kerja, dan disiplin kerja terhadap pengembangan karir karyawan pa-da Badan Pengelolaan Keuangan Daerah Provinsi DKI Jakarta. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksplanatori dengan pendekatan kuantitatif untuk menguji hubungan kausalitas an-tar variabel. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel sebanyak 160 orang yang diambil dari 257 populasi karyawan BPKD Provinsi DKI Jakarta. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik probability sampling dengan menggunakan metode random sampling. Teknik analisis data da-lam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi linear berganda yang ditunjang dengan Uji Instrumen dan Uji Asumsi Klasik. Uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan Uji t untuk mengetahui hubungan antara variabel bebas dengan variabel terikat secara parsial dengan menggunakan program SPSS 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pendidikan, pen-galaman kerja, dan disiplin kerja berpengaruh positif signifikan secara parsial terhadap pengembangan karir karyawan. Hasil tersebut menandakan semakin tinggi tingkat pendidikan, pengalaman kerja, dan disiplin kerja karyawan maka akan semakin baik pengembangan karir bagi karyawan.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to identify the effects of job stress and leadership on the performance of micro, small, and medium-sized tourism enterprise’s employees in Bali Province. This quantitative explanatory study focuses on explaining the relationship between job stress (X1), leadership (X2), and employee performance (Y). Using purposive sampling technique, 52 employees of tourism-sector businesses were selected as the respondents, to whom questionnaires were distributed to harvest the required data. The research instruments were assessed using validity and reliability tests. Here the classical assumption test and the multiple linear regression were performed in SPSS version 20. This study finds that job stress negatively and significantly influences employee performance and that leadership positively and significantly affects employee performance. These facts indicate that an increase in job stress can reduce employee performance and that upgrades in leadership enhance employee performance in the context of tourism enterprises in Bali Province.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship is closely related to concepts and practices related to the establishment, management, and development of a business or business with the aim of creating economic value. It involves several activities, including ideas, business planning, resource acquisition, operations management, marketing, innovation, risk-taking, and so on. The purpose of this study is to determine the interest in entrepreneurship in students of the faculty of economics which includes the development of student entrepreneurial interest and the obstacles experienced in developing entrepreneurial interest. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach, namely by describing and analysing the problems found. Sampling using Purposive Sampling method. The primary data in this study was obtained by making observations, interviews, and documentation on students of the faculty of economics in 2020-2022. From the results of this study, economics’ faculty students are less interested in entrepreneurship. The lack of entrepreneurial practice in lectures and fixating on theory is the main reason students are less interested in entrepreneurship itself.  Organizing competitions such as pitch deck competitions for students to encourage student interest and competition spirit in the field of entrepreneurship.   Abstrak Kewirausahaan erat kaitannya dengan konsep dan praktik yang berkaitan dengan pendirian, pengelolaan, dan pengembangan suatu usaha atau bisnis dengan tujuan menciptakan nilai ekonomi. Ini melibatkan beberapa kegiatan, termasuk ide, perencanaan bisnis, akuisisi sumber daya, manajemen operasi, pemasaran, inovasi, pengambilan risiko, dan sebagainya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui minat kewirausahaan pada mahasiswa fakultas ekonomi yang meliputi pengembangan minat kewirausahaan mahasiswa dan hambatan yang dialami dalam mengembangkan minat kewirausahaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, yaitu dengan mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis permasalahan yang ditemukan. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode Purposive Sampling. Data primer dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi terhadap mahasiswa fakultas ekonomi tahun 2020-2022. Dari hasil penelitian ini, mahasiswa fakultas ekonomi kurang tertarik untuk berwirausaha. Minimnya praktik kewirausahaan dalam perkuli-ahan dan terpaku pada teori menjadi alasan utama mahasiswa kurang tertarik dengan kewirausahaan itu sendiri. Menyelenggarakan kompetisi seperti lomba pitch deck bagi maha-siswa untuk mendorong minat mahasiswa dan semangat kompetisi dalam bidang kewirausahaan.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the effect of team work on employee performance, the effect of communication on employee performance, and the effect of work discipline on employee performance. This quantitative explanatory study was conducted at PT Eka Akar Jati in Malang City, whose 102 employees were selected as the sample, to whom questionnaires were distributed in order to acquire the incorporated primary data. The results of the analysis using multiple linear regression indicate that team work significantly influences employee performance, that communication significantly affects employee performance, and that work discipline significantly impacts employee performance. These findings along with their implications are expected to be used by the company and the consequent research.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kerjasama tim terhadap kinerja karyawan, pengaruh komunikasi terhadap kinerja karyawan, dan pengaruh disiplin kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan di PT Eka Akar Jati Kota Malang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah explanatory research dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang dibagikan secara langsung kepada karyawan PT Eka Akar Jati. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi linear berganda dengan sampel sebanyak 102 responden. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kerjasama tim berpengaruh signifikan terhadapn kinerja karyawan, komunikasi berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan, dan disiplin kerja berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap  kinerja karyawan. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi masukan bagi PT Eka Akar Jati Kota Malang dan peneitian selanjutnya.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to explain the effects of employability skill and grit on the occupational readiness of the final-year students of Faculty of Administration Science of Universitas Brawijaya with information about working world as the moderator. Using probability sampling method and proportionate stratified random sampling, 96 people were selected as the respondents of this explanatory research. The data was harvested via Likert-scaled questionnaires and the analysis was performed in SPSS version 25. This study finds that (1) employability skill and grit simultaneously have significant impacts on the occupational readiness of the final-year students, (2) that employability skill positively and significantly affects the occupational readiness of the final-year students, (3) that grit has no significant influence on the occupational readiness of the final-year students, (4) that information about working world moderates (weakens) the relationship between employability skill and the occupational readiness of the final-year students, and that (5) information about working world does not moderate the impact of grit on the occupational readiness of the final-year students. Furthermore, this study also reveals that the coefficient of determination for the occupational readiness of the final-year students of Faculty of Administration Science of Universitas Brawijaya is 73.4%.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh employability skill dan grit terhadp kesiapan kerja mahasiswa akhir Fakultas Ilmu Administrasi Universitas Brawijaya dengan informasi dunia kerja sebagai pemoderasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian explanato-ry research. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner, Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah probability sampling dengan metode proportionate stratified random sampling. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 96 orang dan dianalisis menggunakan software SPSS versi 25. Skala yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala likert. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Employability skill dan Grit secara simultan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kesiapan kerja mahasiswa tingkat akhir, (2) Employability skill memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kesiapan kerja mahasiswa tingkat akhir, (3) Grit tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kesiapan kerja mahasiswa tingkat akhir, (4) Informasi Dunia Kerja mampu memoderasi (melemahkan) hubungan antara employability skill dengan kesiapan kerja mahasiswa tingkat akhir, (5) Informasi Dunia kerja tidak mampu memoderasi pengaruh grit terhadap kesiapan kerja mahasiswa tingkat akhir.Penelitian ini mengungkapkan hasil koefisien de-terminasi sebesar 73,4% terhadap kesiapan kerja mahasiswa tingkat akhir Fakultas Ilmu Administrasi Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to elucidate the influence of leadership style and work discipline on employee performance at automotive manufacturing company X in Surabaya with the mediation of work motivation. Using simple random sampling, 119 people were selected as the respondents of this explanatory study. The data was harvested via Likert-scaled questionnaires and was examined using path analysis, performed in SmartPLS 3.0. This study finds that (1) leadership style positively and significantly influences employee performance at the automotive manufacturing company X in Surabaya, (2) work discipline positively and significantly affects employee performance at the automotive manufacturing company X in Surabaya, (3) leadership style positively and significantly impacts employee performance at the automotive manufacturing company X in Surabaya, (4) work discipline positively and significantly affects the work motivation of employees at the automotive manufacturing company X in Surabaya, (5) work motivation positively and significantly influences the performance of employees at the automotive manufacturing company X in Surabaya, (6) leadership style positively and significantly impacts employee performance at the automotive manufacturing company X in Surabaya through work motivation, and that (7) work discipline positively and significantly influences employee performance at the automotive manufacturing company X in Surabaya through work motivation.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh gaya kepemimpinan dan disiplin kerja terhadap kinerja karyawan dengan mediasi motivasi kerja pada perusahaan manufaktur otomotif X di Surabaya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian explanatory research. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan menggunakan metode simple random sampling. Sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 119 orang dan dianalisis menggunakan Path Analysis dengan software SmartPLS 3.0. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner diukur dengan skala Likert. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Gaya kepemimpinan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada perusahaan manufaktur otomotif X di Surabaya, (2) Disiplin kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada perusahaan manufaktur otomotif X di Surabaya, (3) Gaya kepemimpinan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja pada perusahaan manufaktur otomotif X di Surabaya, (4) Disiplin kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja pada perusahaan manufaktur otomotif X di Surabaya, (5) Motivasi kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan pada perusahaan manufaktur otomotif X di Surabaya, (6) Gaya kepemimpinan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan melalui motivasi kerja pada perusahaan manufaktur otomotif X di Surabaya, (7) Disiplin kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan melalui motivasi kerja pada perusahaan manufaktur otomotif X di Surabaya.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to analyze dissipation occurred in the new warehouse of 0-Phase Truss Aluminium in Batu City and to provide solutions through the application of the 5S method, which includes seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, and shitsuke. This qualitative descriptive study starts by identifying the source of squandering through observations and interviews, whose results were used to find the root cause through the fishbone diagram. The next step is conducting the 5S valuation, followed by redesigning the 5S for the warehouse area. This study finds that 0-Phase Truss Aluminium has applied the 5S well, but the weak implementation of seiton and seiketsu still causes unnecessary movement, defects, and inventory. The redesigning of the 5S is the solution to reduce the dissipations and makes the warehousing activities more comfortable and optimal.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemborosan yang terjadi pada gudang baru 0-Phase Truss Aluminium di Kota Batu dan memberikan solusi masalah menggunakan metode 5S (seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, shitsuke). Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode penelitian ini dimulai dengan mengidentifikasi sumber pemborosan melalui observasi dan wawancara, kemudian dicari akar permasalahannya menggunakan fishbone diagram. Langkah selanjutnya dilakukan penilaian 5S dan perancangan kembali 5S pada area kerja gudang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan 5S pada gudang baru 0-Phase Truss Aluminium sudah baik namun pada bagian seiton dan seiketsu masih lemah sehingga terjadi pemborosan yaitu unnecessary movement, defects, dan inventory. Perancangan kembali 5S menjadi solusi untuk mengurangi pemborosan-pemborosan tersebut dan membuat aktivitas pergudang lebih nyaman dan maksimal.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to identify the effects of time management, work-life balance, and job stress on the performance of part-time workers with the status of active university students in Malang City. The population of this quantitative explanatory research is active university students in Malang City who work as part-timers. Using non-probability sampling method and purposive sampling technique, 96 active students with the minimum age of seventeen years who work as part-timers were selected as the respondents. The data was harvested from Likert-scaled questionnaires and was analyzed using multiple linear regression in IBM SPSS Statistics version 26. This study finds that time management, work-life balance, and job stress positively and significantly affect performance.    Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh manajemen waktu, work-life balance, dan stres kerja terhadap kinerja pekerja paruh waktu yang berstatus mahasiswa aktif di Kota Ma-lang. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian explanatory research dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pekerja paruh waktu yang berstatus maha-siswa aktif di Kota Malang, Jawa Timur, Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah non-probability sampling dengan menggunakan metode purposive sam-pling dan diperoleh sebanyak 96 sampel dengan kriteria responden minimal berusia 17 tahun dan merupakan mahasiswa aktif yang sedang bekerja paruh waktu di Kota Malang. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang diukur dengan Skala Likert. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis linier berganda dengan bantuan program IBM SPSS Sta-tistics Versi 26. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa manajemen waktu, work-life balance, dan stres kerja berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja.

Abstract

This research departs form the war of talent, a phenomenon of diminishing number of potential work forces occurring in various industries. As a response, companies are competing to attract employee candidates to apply for jobs. The objective of this research is to identify the partial and simultaneous effects of employer branding activity and corporate reputation on people’s intention to apply for a job. The population of this quantitative explanatory research is active students of bachelor’s and associate degrees of Universitas Brawijaya. Using the Slovin formula, the sample size was set at 398. The data was harvested via Likert-scaled questionnaires and was assessed using instrument test, classical assumption test, hypothesis test, and multiple linear regression performed in SPSS. This study finds that employer branding activity and corporate reputation partially and simultaneously influence the intention to apply for a job. Therefore, it is implied that appropriate strategies in employer branding activity and successful corporate reputation maintenance can increase the intention of employee candidates to apply for a job.
