Abstract

The war for talent has made every company in various industries compete and race to acquire the best talent. Manufacturing is the most sought-after industry in the labor market, which means that each company in this industry faces more significant challenges in attracting the best talent in the labor market. This research aims to explain the influence of employer branding activities, consisting of three dimensions (publicity, word of mouth, advertising), and perceived job attributes, consisting of five dimensions (working atmosphere, career opportunities, work-life comfort, task attractiveness, and payment attractiveness) on the intention to apply for a job at PT Nestlé Indonesia. The type of research used in this study is explanatory research with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 400 respondents who were students from the University of Brawijaya. The data collection method used was a survey method with the distribution of questionnaires. The testing instruments used in this study include instrument tests, classical assumption tests, hypothesis testing, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study indicate that employer branding activities significantly influence the intention to apply. The results also show that perceived job attributes also significantly influence the intention to apply.   Abstrak War for talent membuat setiap perusahaan di berbagai industri berlomba dan berkompetisi untuk mendapatkan talent terbaik. Manufaktur menjadi industri yang paling diminati di pasar tenaga kerja, sehingga setiap perusahaan dalam industri ini menghadapi tantangan yang lebih besar dalam menarik talenta terbaik di pasar tenaga kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan pengaruh employer branding activity yang terdiri dari tiga dimensi (publicity, word of mouth, advertising) dan perceived job attributes yang terdiri dari lima dimensi (working atmosphere, career opportunities, work-life comfort, task attractiveness, dan payment attractiveness) terhadap intention to apply di PT Nestlé Indonesia. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksplanatori dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel terdiri dari 400 responden yang merupakan mahasiswa dari Universitas Brawijaya. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode survei dengan penyebaran kuesioner. Alat uji yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi uji instrumen, uji asumsi klasik, pengujian hipotesis, dan analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa employer branding activity berpengaruh signifikan terhadap niat melamar pekerjaan. Hasil juga menunjukkan bahwa perceived job attributes juga berpengaruh signifikan terhadap intention to apply.

Abstract

This research aims to acquire a general description about organizational culture and transactional leadership in Mr. Suwadi’s family business, which engages in food and beverage through its two sub-business: restaurant and meat processing. The data of this qualitative descriptive research was harvested from observations, interviews, and documentation and was analyzed  in three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. This study finds that the organizational culture of the business in all levels is good. In the artifacts level, workplace rules, daily work hours, and equipment and tool usage procedures are available. Regarding the espoused values, employees are aware to give their best performance and to uphold trust. Those values were achieved from the provision of motivating talks, decent facilities, awarding bonuses, and treating them as parts of the family. In terms of assumptions and beliefs, the employees were encouraged to healthily compete with each other, to stay creative and innovative, and to maintain product and service quality. These are attained by giving the employees their rights (salary and bonus) and by providing them with space for discussion to express their ideas. Further, the transactional leadership style  in Mr. Suwadi’s family business applies contingent award, active management by exception, and passive management by exception. The theoretical and practical implications of this research are useful for both the manager and the owner of Mr. Suwadi’s family business.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran umum budaya organisasi dan kepemimpi-nan transaksional pada bisnis keluarga milik Bapak Suwadi yang bergerak pada bidang ma-kanan dan minuman, dengan 2 sub-bisnis yaitu rumah makan dan pengolahan daging. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data dengan observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik dalam menganalisis data meliputi tiga tahapan, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budaya organisasi baik pada setiap ting-katannya. Hal itu dapat dilihat pada tingkat artifacts terdapat peraturan kerja dengan jam ker-ja tiap harinya dan prosedur pemakaian peralatan dan perlengkapan di tempat kerja. Di ting-kat espoused values terdapat kesadaran karyaawan memberikan kinerja terbaiknya dan kesadaran mejunjung kepercayaan, dengan memberikan motivasi, memberikan fasilitas yang layak, memberikan bonus, serta menganggap karyawan sebagai bagian dari keluarga sendiri. Pada tingkat assumptions and beliefs terdapat menanamkan bersaing sehat antar karyawan serta mendorong untuk tetap kreatif dan inovatif, karyawan didorong untuk selalu menjaga mutu dan kualitas, memberikan haknya (gaji dan bonus), serta menyediakan ruang berdiskusi untuk mengemukakan pendapatnya. Sedangkan gaya kepemimpinan transaksional pada family business milik Bapak Suwadi menerapkan contingent reward, active management by exception, passive management by exception. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian secara teoritis, implikasi prak-tis juga dapat bermanfaat bagi pihak pemilik maupun manajer pada bisnis keluarga milik Bapak Suwadi.

Abstract

The goal of this quantitative explanatory research is to identify the effects of job satisfaction, compensation, and subjective well-being on teacher’s performance. This study was conducted at the Public Senior High School 2 of Amlapura using multiple linear regression analysis performed in SPSS 26 in order to explain the relationship between the three independent variable on the dependent variable. The stages in this study are instrument test, classical assumption test, and hypothesis testing. The instrument test consists of validity and reliability testing, while the classical assumption test consists of multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and linearity tests, and the hypothesis testing consists of F test and t test. The research population is teachers of Public Senior High School 2 of Amlapura; using saturated sampling, all 58 of them were selected as the respondents. The data was harvested through Likert-scaled questionnaires. This study finds that job satisfaction significantly influences the teacher’s performance, that compensation significantly affects the teacher’s performance, and that subjective well-being also significantly impacts the teacher’s performance.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the effects of work intention and organizational experience on the work readiness of the active students of Universitas Brawijaya Malang. The data of this quantitative explanatory research was harvested from questionnaires. Using simple random sampling technique, 100 people were selected as the respondents. This research uses multiple linear regression in SPSS version 25 to analyze the influence of the independent variables, i.e., work intention (X1) and organizational experience (X2), on the dependent variable, i.e., work readiness (Y). based on the results of the analysis and hypothesis testing, this study finds that work intention (X1) and organizational experience (X2) simultaneously have significant and positive effects on the work readiness of the active students of Universitas Brawijaya Malang.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh minat kerja dan pengalaman organisasi terhadap kesiapan kerja mahasiswa aktif Universitas Brawijaya Malang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian jenis explanatory research. Dalam penelitian ini pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah sampel acak sederhana dan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 100 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi linier berganda yang diolah dengan software SPSS versi 25. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah minat kerja (X1) dan pengalaman organisasi (X2), sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah kesiapan kerja (Y). Hasil dari penelitian ini berdasarkan analisis data dan pengujian hipotesis yang dilakukan adalah variabel minat kerja (X1) dan pengalaman organisasi (X2) secara bersamaan memiliki pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap kesiapan kerja mahasiswa aktif Universitas Brawijaya Malang.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of motivation, training, and work discipline on performance with employee objects on intern employees at PT. Bank Sinarmas Sharia Business Unit (tbk) KCP Malang for the period 2021-2022. This study has a population of 49 interns at PT Bank Sinarmas Sharia Business Unit (tbk) KCP Malang, therefore this study uses saturated samples. The method of this research is to use the type of exploratory research using a quantitative approach. The data collection tool used is a questionnaire and the data used is primary data. Partial least square (PLS) was used to test the hypothesis in this study using SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results showed that motivation and training had a significant effect on performance, while discipline had no significant effect on performance. While simultaneously, it shows that the endogenous variable Performance (Y) can be explained by exogenous variables, namely Motivation (X1), Training (X2), and Discipline (X3) by 57.4%. Therefore, the implication of this research is that the higher the level of motivation and also the training provided, the higher the level of performance of intern employees, while the discipline or lack of discipline of intern employees does not affect the performance of intern employees.

Abstract

The issuance of electronic information and transaction law in 2008 and copyright law in 2014 in response to cybercrimes has created the art commission phenomenon, in which illustrators claim and trade their works in cyber world. Top Haul Outfitter (T.H.O.), a new business in custom-clothing industry, was having difficulties in collecting revenues in 2021 due to low customers. The objective of this research is to analyze the effects of brand awareness and electronic word of mouth (E-WOM) on the purchase intention in the scope of art commission among the customers of T.H.O.’s products. The data of this quantitative research was harvested via questionnaires from 150 respondents who have made any art commission transaction and was analyzed in SPSS (IBM). The results of the analysis indicate the significant and positive effects of brand awareness and electronic word of mouth on the purchase intention. Therefore, in order to gain revenues from consumers, brand awareness improvement and digital information disbursement can be applied.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are to identify the characteristics of the market segment for Bettercare and to pinpoint the suitable target segments for the wash service business, to which efforts to place the products in the targeted customers’ mind were made. This quantitative descriptive research measures a certain social phenomenon without conducting hypothesis testing. From the population of Bettercare customers in South Tangerang and South Jakarta, using purposive sampling with the criteria of people who have used the company’s helmet washing service at least once, eighty respondents were acquired. The validity and reliability of the research instruments have been assessed. The incorporation of cluster method for the data analysis resulted in that the market segment for Bettercare was service can be classified into two segments: the Confidence Group and the Exclusive Group. Further, the more appropriate segment to be targeted by Bettercare is the Confidence Group.

Abstract

Job satisfaction is the occurring or non-occurring employees’ emotional condition in response to the compensation received by the employees from their companies or organizations after comparing it with the compensation they actually wish to receive. This quantitative research was conducted to identify both partial and simultaneous effects of Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) and workplace environment on the job satisfaction of interns at the Sharia Business Unit of Bank Sinarmas of Malang Branch Office during the 2021-2022 period. The sample of this research was selected using census technique for small population, so the entire population was used as the sample, resulting in 49 intern respondents. The results of the data analysis performed in SPSS 26 indicate that one Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) significantly influences job satisfaction and that two workplace environment does not significantly affect the job satisfaction. Therefore, it can be concluded that Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) and workplace environment simultaneously have some impacts on the dependent variable, that is job satisfaction.   Abstrak Kepuasan kerja (job satisfaction) merupakan keadaan emosional karyawan yang terjadi maupun tidak terjadi antara nilai balas jasa kerja karyawan dan perusahaan atau organisasi dengan tingkat balas jasa kerja yang memang diinginkan oleh karyawan yang bersangkutan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh parsial dan simultan variabel Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) dan Lingkungan Kerja terhadap kepuasan karyawan magang di Bank Sinarmas Unit Usaha Syariah Cabang Malang periode 2021-2022. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sensus untuk populasi kecil, jadi seluruh populasi tersebut digunakan sebagai sampel. Ukuran sampel yang digunakan adalah sebanyak 49 orang yang diambil dari mahasiswa magang pada Perusahaan Bank Sinarmas Unit Usaha Syariah Cabang Malang. Analisis data menggunakan software SPSS 26. Berdasarkan dari hasil pengujian terhadap ketiga hipotesis dapat disimpulkan bahwa: (1) Variabel Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja; (2) Variabel Lingkungan kerja tidak memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kepuasan kerja. Sehingga dalam penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa Variabel Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) dan lingkungan kerja secara simultan memiliki pengaruh terhadap variabel dependen yaitu kepuasan kerja.

Abstract

The increasing and piling volumes of garbage has become a national issue and the cause for other problems such as disaster and disease. Concern in this matter has encouraged the emergence of start-up companies that do not mainly focus on profit maximization. These social enterprises seek better environment by optimizing the values of garbage into capital for mutual fund investments. The objective of this research is to support developments in Barangkas, a start-up social enterprise, using Social Business Model Canvas (SBMC). The data of this qualitative descriptive research was harvested through observations, interviews, and document studies. The analysis of the company’s internal and external environment has indicated the company’s opportunities, threats, advantages, disadvantages, and required resources. The environmental analysis helps the company map its business model into eleven blocks of Social Business Model Canvas that can be used as a guideline in strategic decision making. Further, Barangkas can consider mentor procurement, network expansion, collaboration, and more frequent social campaigns and viral marketing.   Abstrak Volume sampah yang kian bertambah dan menggunung tinggi menjadi permasalahan nasional sekaligus merupakan cikal bakal permasalahan lainnya seperti bencana atau sumber penyakit. Hal ini mendorong hadirnya usaha rintisan yang tidak hanya fokus untuk mencari profit sebe-sar-besarnya, tetapi juga sebagai kewirausahaan sosial yang memiliki tujuan agar berdampak demi lingkungan yang lebih baik dengan mengoptimalkan nilai sampah menjadi modal untuk berinvestasi reksadana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendukung pengembangan pada perus-ahaan Barangkas dengan dukungan Social Business Model Canvas (SBMC). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif yang data-datanya diperoleh dari hasil observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa analisis lingkungan eksternal dan internal perusahaan menunjukkan peluang, ancaman, kelebihan, kekurangan, dan sumber daya yang diperlukan perusahaan. Analisis lingkungan tersebut membantu Barangkas dalam memetakan model bisnisnya ke dalam sebelas blok Social Business Model Canvas yang dapat menjadi pedoman dalam pengambilan keputusan strategis. Selanjutnya, Barangkas dapat mempertimbangkan pengadaan mentor, memperluas jaringan, kolaborasi, giat melakukan kampanye sosial, dan menggencarkan pemasaran viral.

Abstract

Unemployment is a crucial problem for economic growth and development in Indonesia. The solution for it is increasing the quantity of jobs by, one of which, boosting the number of both small and large companies. Therefore, fostering entrepreneurial intention is a way out to reduce unemployment in Indonesia. The objective of this research is to identify the effects of entrepreneurial knowledge, entrepreneurial motivation, family support, and emotional intelligence on entrepreneurial intention by taking Indonesian university students as the case study. The research location is campuses in Indonesia, from which 230 people were selected as the respondents. The data was analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS version 24. This study finds that entrepreneurial knowledge, entrepreneurial motivation, family support, and emotional intelligence significantly influence entrepreneurial intention. Therefore, the higher the entrepreneurial knowledge, entrepreneurial motivation, family support, and emotional intelligence, the higher Indonesian university students’ entrepreneurial intention.
