Abstract

Academic procrastination in students is a determining factor for the success of students in completing their studies. Engagement with the community and the ability of students to organize themselves in learning also play a role in academic procrastination. This study aims to determine the relationship of Sense of Community (SoC) and Self -Regulated Learning (SRL) with Academic Procrastination. The population of this study was all UMSIDA students in the odd semester of 2018-2019 academic year with the total number of 9824 students and the total sample based on Isaac and Michael's table with an 5% error rate were 385 students with a proportioned random sampling technique. Research data collection used three psychological scales, namely the scale of academic procrastination, the scale of the sense of community, and the scale of self-regulated learning. Analysis of research data used was product moment correlation and multiple regression analysis. The results of the analysis show that the Sense of Community and Self-Regulated Learning have a negative relationship with academic procrastination. If students perceive themselves to have a Sense of Community and high Self-Regulated Learning, they will tend to reduce their academic procrastination. However, the Self-Regulated Learning prediction on academic procrastination is higher than the Sense of Community on academic procrastination.

Islamic boarding schools do not only play a role in transferring religious knowledge, reconstructing character but also purifying the heart. This positive spirit needs to be explored by students through implementation to actualize themselves both physically and mentally. Students are also familiar with the practices and mindstreem traditions, including the traditions found in the Pondok Pesantren Haji Ya’qub (PPHY), which is named Ngrowot. Seeing the tradition of Ngrowot from the perspective of psychological well-being is very urgent because generally, people today assume that welll being is more to be a hedonic lifestyle. There are two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. The analysis in this study used the Mann-Whitney U test and the Wilcoxon test.U mann-Whitney analysis obtained the average increase in scores in the experimental group (Mean Ranks on observations after treatment was 8.00and before intervention was given to 5,166) higher than the control group (Mean Ranks on observations after treatment was 3.00) This shows that the experimental group after being treated or treat in the form of a role playing center, the subject experienced an increase in vocabulary skills better than the control group where p <0.005. The Z score difference is 2,611 while the Wilcoxon p <0.005 difference Z score is 2,023. These show there are differences in vocabulary in the experimental group after being given treatment while the control group did not experience an increase where p> 0.005 and Z score 1.761

Abstract

Attribution style is one of the most relevant concepts in predicting academic achievement. Various researches have tried to study the factors that influence the attribution style. Several factors such as gender, ethnicity, and social class have been widely discussed in scientific publications. However, since Bernard Weiner first developed attribution theory more than 40 years ago, there have been changes in a social condition that might have affected various attribution factors. This review aims to see the latest developments in the factors that influence the attribution of academic achievement. A systematic search of articles published in 3 English-language international publishers since 2010 identified a total of 6 studies, which included 132.293 students from various nations. An assessment that measured qualities of a research in 4 areas: research design, sampling, measurement, and analysis identified 3 high-quality research and 3 moderate-quality research. The result shows that ethnic factors confirm the findings from previous studies. Researches on gender factors provide new insights regarding the attribution style of female students. Besides, new factors emerge, such as school stratification and the attribution style of parents over their life events.

Spiritual well-being is the affirmation of life concerning, oneself, others, the environment, and God. This relation can be developed into four interconnected domains of human existence concerning spiritual well-being; oneself, community, environment, and God. Emotional intelligence is one of the keys to success in life. So, people are aware of themselves and others, have motivation and optimism. The study took data from 1113 adolescents from five provinces (DKI, West Java, Lampung, North Sumatra, and Central Java), aims to find out the relationship between spiritual well-being and emotional intelligence on tolerance. From the analysis of data using correlation and regression found that spiritual well-being is related to tolerance (r = 0.844 (**), p = 000 <0.001), and spiritual well-being affects the attitude of tolerance (r2 = .699, t = 30 896, p <.001). Likewise emotional intelligence is related to tolerance for adolescents (r = 0.844 (**), p = 000 <0.001) and emotional intelligence influences tolerance (r2 = .712, t = - 5102, p <.001). The higher level of spiritual well-being and emotional intelligence, the better the tolerance attitude of adolescents.
