Abstract

The phenomenon of flash sales on TikTok Shop has significantly revolutionized consumption patterns in Indonesia by offering massive discounts within strictly limited timeframes. While economically efficient for driving sales volume, this aggressive marketing strategy often encourages impulsive behavior among consumers, which, from an Islamic perspective, can be categorized as isrāf (wastefulness) and exposes transactions to gharar (uncertainty/ambiguity). This study aims to deeply analyze the influence of discount euphoria on consumption behavior and its ethical implications through the classical economic lens of Al-Maqrīzī. Using a qualitative descriptive method with a library research approach, this study critically analyzes Al-Maqrīzī's masterpiece, Ighāthat al-Ummah bi-Kashf al-Ghummah, and juxtaposes it with contemporary digital market phenomena (2019-2025). The results indicate that the euphoria of flash sales creates an illusion of need, driving consumption behavior that contradicts the Islamic principles of I’tidāl (moderation) and ‘adl (justice). In Al-Maqrīzī’s view, such practices reflect a loss of moral control in the market, similar to the economic distortions of the Mamluk era. Consequently, this study suggests that Al-Maqrīzī’s thought provides a vital foundation for building an ethical digital economy through the implementation of a digital hisbah mechanism, enhanced Islamic consumption literacy, and strict regulations to ensure transparency and justice in online transactions.

Abstract

In the era of disruption and global competition, employee work discipline has become a crucial factor influencing the operational effectiveness and efficiency of companies. This study aims to analyze the effect of work environment and leadership style on work discipline, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable, among employees of PT MEA, an automotive component manufacturing company in Cikarang. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey method with a saturated sample of 70 production division employees. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using SmartPLS 3.2.9 to examine validity, reliability, as well as the direct and mediating effects among variables. The results indicate that the work environment has a significant effect on both work discipline and job satisfaction, while leadership does not have a significant effect on either variable. Moreover, job satisfaction was not found to mediate the relationship between work environment or leadership and work discipline. These findings suggest that the work environment is a more dominant factor than leadership and job satisfaction in improving employee discipline. This study provides practical implications for human resource management to focus on improving the work environment to enhance employee discipline and productivity.

Abstract

This study analyzes the integration of Digital Financial Literacy (DFL) has been incorporated in technology acceptance models especially the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and UTAUT2 and its effects on the acceptance of the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) in developing countries. The review was performed with the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method using analyzing 25 peer-reviewed articles that were published in 2019-2025 in accordance to the principles of PRISMA to advance the transparency of the selection, assessment, and synthesis. The results indicate that DFL is a major determinant resulting in the enhancement of perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), trust, and risk awareness, hence escalating intention and actual behavior of user to adopt QRIS. DFL also supports important UTAUT2 variables, such as social influence, facilitating conditions, and habit. Moreover, the use of QRIS also leads to the digitalization of accounting by means of automated recording of transactions, better audit trail and financial reporting that is more efficient. However, the existing literature would be biased towards the behavioral intention as opposed to actual application in digital accounting practices, especially among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Altogether, DFL can be defined as a highly crucial facilitator of the adoption of digital payments and a driver of the modern accounting shift in the digital world.

Abstract

The qualitative research explores how product diversification in local Muslim fashion brands in Indonesia shapes customer perceived value from the perspective of Islamic economic law. Using a library study approach, relevant journals, and in-depth interviews with industry players and consumers, the findings indicate that product diversification, while meeting market share needs, is interppreted as a manifestation of product compliance with Islamic principles. The method used was to collect reference sources in the form of journal literature, reference books, and online media. The results of this study provide insight into the relationship between marketing management strategies in product diversification, and perceived value from consumers and customers, as well as compliance with Sharia Law. The local brand Nada Puspita reflects not only an elegant Muslim fashion style but also brings a strong religious nuance, and cultural aesthetic value into its product dsign. This study aims to fill this gap by analyzing in depth how product diversification, and perceived value affect the sustainability of a local premium Muslim fashion brand according to Sharia economic law. The strategy is not only oriented towards market differentiation but also on the integration of religious values, modesty, and Islamic cultural identity represented through the design, and narrative of a product. This diversification strengthens brand equity, increases perceived value, and constructs loyalty among Muslim consumers. This research can contribute to the development of Islamic marketing management studies, particularly on the practice of modest fashion branding in Indonesia.

Abstract

Fear of success (FoS) can significantly impede career advancement when anticipated social sanctions, role conflicts, or workload spillovers make professional achievement feel psychologically and socially costly. This phenomenon may be particularly pronounced among married female civil servants who face strong traditional role expectations in Indonesia's collectivist society. Objective: To examine how demographic characteristics (age, work tenure, education, number of children, position level, and spouse employment) systematically relate to fear of success among married female civil servants in Indonesia's Directorate General of Taxes. Methods: A cross-sectional survey design was employed with 205 married female civil servants. Fear of Success was measured using the validated Zuckerman & Allison (1976) scale with 16 retained items (5-point Likert scale). Statistical analyses included ANOVA/MANOVA, hierarchical multiple regression, and comprehensive robustness checks. Results: Fear of success varied significantly by age (F=3.45, p=0.009) and tenure (F=2.89, p=0.023), with peak levels occurring at mid-career stages (ages 41-46 years; 16-20 years tenure). Number of children positively predicted FoS (β=0.156, p=0.022), while education level differences were non-significant (p=0.072). The demographic model explained 16% of variance in fear of success. Conclusions: Demographic patterns particularly mid-career timing—highlight critical windows for targeted, family-aware career development interventions. These findings have important implications for gender-sensitive talent management in bureaucratic settings and contribute to understanding psychological barriers to women's career advancement in developing countries.

Abstract

In 2025, Indonesia is known as the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, with a percentage reaching 87.20% of its total population, thus driving an increase in demand for halal products, one of which is contemporary beverages that are popular among students. This study shows the need for beverage industry players to increase competitiveness through the application of halal labels with more creative product innovations. Research was also conducted to examine the influence of halal labels and product innovation on the purchasing decisions of Indonesian Iced Tea products among students at Surabaya State University. This study applied a quantitative approach with primary data sources through questionnaires. It involved 100 participants selected through purposive sampling criteria. The data was tested with multiple linear regression using IBM SPSS 25 software. The results of the study indicate that, halal labels have a positive and significant effect on personal purchasing decisions. These purchasing decisions are influenced by product innovation. In conclusion, halal awareness and the appeal of menu innovation are the main factors in student purchases. However, research on the influence of halal labels and product innovation on purchasing decisions for Es Teh Indonesia among students is still limited.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of Intellectual Capital, operational efficiency as reflected by the Operating Expenses to Operating Income ratio (BOPO), and the Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) on the profitability of Rural Banks in Batam City. Profitability reflects a bank’s effectiveness in managing its assets to generate optimal returns. The study adopts a quantitative research design utilizing secondary data derived from the audited financial statements of Rural Banks officially registered with the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK). The research sample comprises 14 Rural Banks observed over a ten-year period (2015–2024), yielding 140 panel data observations. Data analysis is performed using panel data regression techniques with EViews 12, following appropriate model selection procedures and classical assumption testing. The findings reveal that Intellectual Capital exerts a positive and statistically significant effect on profitability, indicating that the efficient utilization of intangible assets contributes to improved financial performance. In contrast, BOPO demonstrates a negative and significant relationship with profitability, suggesting that higher operational inefficiencies adversely affect earnings. However, the Loan to Deposit Ratio does not show a significant influence on profitability, implying that increased lending activities are not always accompanied by higher profit generation. Overall, the results highlight the critical role of Intellectual Capital development and operational efficiency enhancement in supporting the long-term profitability and sustainability of Rural Banks.
