Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Islamic financial literacy and the ease of use of digital services on customers’ decisions to use Islamic digital banking products, with Islamic financial inclusion as a mediating variable. The research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to Islamic bank customers who use digital services in Indonesia. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with the assistance of SmartPLS 4 software. The results indicate that Islamic financial literacy and the ease of use of digital services have a positive and significant effect on customers’ decisions to use Islamic digital banking products. In addition, both variables also have a positive and significant influence on Islamic financial inclusion. Islamic financial inclusion, in turn, has a positive effect on customers’ decisions and is able to mediate the relationship between Islamic financial literacy, the ease of use of digital services, and the decision to use Islamic digital banking products. The novelty of this study lies in the development of an integrative research model that combines Islamic financial literacy and the ease of use of digital services by incorporating Islamic financial inclusion as a mediating variable within the context of digital Islamic banking. This study is expected to enrich academic literature on customer decision behavior and provide practical implications for Islamic banking institutions in enhancing inclusive and sustainable digital service adoption.

Abstract

This study explores the dangers of riba in the perspective of thematic Quranic interpretation (tafsir maudhu’i), especially in the context of online loans in Indonesia. The research employs a qualitative literature-based method, analyzing hadiths and Qur'anic verses on ribā alongside data from contemporary Islamic economic literature. The results of the study indicate that ribā has destructive impacts such as damaging honor, plunging into poverty, bringing famine, and inviting punishment to a region. In the contemporary financial system, ribā is often found in conventional banking, interest-bearing credit, and online lending platforms that use an interest system and late fines. The widespread use of online lending services (pinjol) in Indonesia has caused significant economic and social problems. Weak regulations mean that many illegal lending platforms continue to operate and are difficult to eradicate, leaving consumers without adequate protection. One serious impact of this phenomenon is the misuse of personal data, where borrower information is often used for intimidation and pressure in the collection process. In addition, high default rates are a major problem, triggered by suffocating interest rates, unreasonable late fees, and low financial literacy. The consequences of online lending not only impact the economic aspects of individuals but also cause severe psychological distress, even in some cases leading to extreme actions such as suicide. As a solution, the study recommends the development of a syarī’ah-based financial system, public education about the dangers of ribā, and collaboration between the government and financial institutions to create fair economic policies that are in accordance with Islamic law.

Abstract

Fintech has significantly transformed the landscape of the Islamic financial industry and is widely recognized as a key catalyst for innovation in Islamic financial products. The advancement of digital technology enables the integration of Sharia principles with modern financial systems that are more inclusive, efficient, and responsive to societal needs. This study aims to analyze the role of fintech in driving innovation in Islamic financial products and its contribution to enhancing Islamic financial inclusion. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative methodology using a literature review approach by examining academic articles, books, industry reports, and relevant regulations related to Islamic fintech. The findings indicate that the characteristics of fintech within the Islamic finance context are generally aligned with Sharia compliance, particularly in terms of transparency, fairness, and the avoidance of riba, gharar, and maysir. Furthermore, fintech serves as a strategic solution for expanding Islamic financial inclusion, especially among unbanked communities and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Fintech-driven innovations include improved access to financial services, greater product diversification, cost efficiency, enhanced transaction transparency, and personalized financial services.

Abstract

This study analyzes the development and direction of research on cash waqf through digital platforms using bibliometric methods with descriptive qualitative approaches. Data obtained from the Scopus database, covering 771 publications up to October 2025, were processed using VOSviewer to map publication trends, collaboration networks, and research themes. The results show a significant increase in digital cash waqf research since 2015, with contributions from researchers from Indonesia and Malaysia dominating, confirming Southeast Asia as a hub for modern waqf studies. Thematic analysis identified four main focuses: governance, sharia regulation, financial technology innovation, trust and transparency, and socio-economic impact. The research evolution is divided into three phases, from conceptual studies to waqf integration and digitalization. Theoretically, this study strengthens the concept of Islamic social finance through digitalization, while practically providing policy recommendations and technological innovations such as blockchain and sharia fintech, opening new directions for future research on the integration of blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, and Islamic financial systems for sustainable cash waqf management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of income, discounts, and cashback on the Islamic consumption behavior of pesantren graduate students who use cashless payment systems in Surabaya. The background of this research arises from the growing use of digital payment methods, which may influence students’ consumption patterns. The study employs a quan-titative method with an explanatory research approach and purposive sampling technique involving 179 pesantren graduate respondents. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS software. The results reveal that income and discounts have a positive and significant effect on Islamic consumption behavior, while cashback has no significant effect. These findings indicate that pesantren graduates maintain prudence and simplicity in financial transactions, particularly regarding cashback forms that are non-cashable and potentially contain elements of gharar (uncertainty). Overall, this study highlights the importance of designing digital promotions that comply with Islamic principles of transparency, fairness, and halal transactions in today’s cashless era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of products, social media marketing, consumer characteristics, and Islamic consumption behavior on impulsive purchases of fashion products using Pay Later. The widespread use of Pay Later and the lack of research linking impulsive purchases with Islamic consumption perspectives form the basis of this study. This study uses a quantitative method with an associative approach. The sample was taken using purposive sampling from Generation Z respondents in Surabaya who had made fashion product transactions using Pay Later. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed that social media marketing and consumer characteristics had a significant positive influence on impulsive buying. Conversely, Islamic consumption behavior has a significant negative effect on impulsive buying, indicating its role as self-control. The product variable was found to have no significant effect on impulsive buying. These findings indicate that consumer characteristics as internal factors are the main drivers, while Islamic consumption behavior as an understanding of Islamic values is the main inhibitor of impulsive buying in this digital era.

Abstract

The digital transformation of e-commerce has dramatically reshaped Indonesia’s business landscape, with transaction values projected to reach USD 80 billion by 2025. Nevertheless, this rapid expansion has simultaneously produced critical ethical challenges, including price manipulation, exploitation of personal data, and structural injustice that disadvantages MSME actors. This study aims to analyze the relevance of Islamic business ethics norms from Al-Ghazali’s perspective within the context of the Shopee platform and to formulate applicable strengthening strategies. Utilizing a qualitative method through a literature-based approach examining Al-Ghazali’s works and 45 contemporary studies (2015–2025), this research investigates four fundamental principles of Islamic business ethics: mashlahah (public benefit), niyyah (sincere intention), sidq (honesty), and ‘adl (justice). The findings reveal that the implementation of these principles through features such as rating systems, product reviews, and dispute-resolution centers can enhance consumer protection by up to 65%. However, significant obstacles remain, including uneven product transparency (40%), misuse of reviews (15–20%), and the dominance of profit-driven motives (70%). The study proposes five key strategic recommendations: digital ethics education, AI-Blockchain-based verification systems, integration of mashlahah into recommendation algorithms, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and the development of an Islamic Business Ethics Index (IBEI). Consistent implementation of Al-Ghazali’s ethical principles is expected to foster an e-commerce ecosystem that is equitable, transparent, and oriented toward collective welfare.
