Abstract

Physics learning in the 21st century requires students to develop not only conceptual understanding but also motivation and critical thinking skills needed to solve scientific problems. However, teacher-centered learning practices often limit students' opportunities to actively explore and construct knowledge. This study aimed to analyze the effect of the discovery learning model on students' physics learning motivation and critical thinking skills at SMA Negeri 1 Soyo Jaya. This research used a quantitative approach with a randomized pretest-posttest control group design involving 28 eleventh-grade students. Data were collected through observation, motivation questionnaires, critical thinking tests, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and inferential analysis through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and independent sample t-tests. The results showed that the experimental class experienced higher improvement than the control class, with motivation scores increasing from 60.43 to 84.67 and critical thinking scores increasing from 50.25 to 64.25. The hypothesis test obtained a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect of discovery learning. These findings show that discovery learning encourages active involvement, independent exploration, and analytical thinking. Therefore, discovery learning can be an effective instructional model to improve students' motivation and critical thinking skills in physics learning.

Abstract

Presenteeism is believed to be a prevalent condition among teachers, driven by high job demands and limited support in the workplace. This study aimed to examine the relationship between job demands and coworker social support with presenteeism among teachers. Participants were selected using quota sampling, involving 42 teachers drawn from a population of 72. Data were collected through three scales measuring presenteeism, job demands, and coworker social support, all of which had been tested for validity and reliability. Multiple regression analysis using SPSS revealed that (1) job demands and coworker social support together were significantly associated with presenteeism (R = 0.639; p = 0.001); (2) job demands had a significant negative relationship with presenteeism (r = -0.587; p = 0.001); and (3) coworker social support had a significant positive relationship with presenteeism (r = 0.537; p = 0.001). These findings suggest that strong collegial bonds among teachers may actually encourage attendance even when unwell, shaped by the collectivist work culture characteristic of Indonesian educational environments.

Abstract

The development of Islamic finance in Indonesia demonstrates significant potential but continues to face challenges caused by the gap between increasing financial literacy and the low level of Islamic financial inclusion among society. This study aims to analyze data-driven communication strategies to bridge the Islamic financial literacy and inclusion gap by examining practices from Bank Syariah Indonesia, Bank Muamalat Indonesia, BTPN Syariah, and Malaysia’s Value-Based Intermediation approach. This research applies a qualitative approach with a comparative case study design using secondary data obtained from regulatory reports, financial institution publications, industry documents, and academic articles published between 2020 and 2025. The findings reveal that improving literacy does not automatically lead to the adoption of Islamic financial services because several barriers remain, including trust, perceived value, accessibility, and communication relevance. The discussion indicates that effective communication strategies require a segmented approach through the integration of digital transformation, community engagement, fintech collaboration, and communication emphasizing social and sustainability values. Malaysia’s Value-Based Intermediation approach demonstrates that impact-oriented communication can strengthen the broader positioning of Islamic finance. This study concludes that accelerating Islamic financial inclusion in Indonesia requires a strategic shift from awareness-based communication toward behavior-oriented communication that emphasizes trust development and value creation.

Abstract

The dissemination of information through digital platforms has fundamentally transformed the processes of public policy formulation and decision-making. On the one hand, advances in communication technologies have enabled greater public participation and broader access to information. On the other hand, the proliferation of disinformation, narrative manipulation, and the fragmentation of the digital public sphere have the potential to affect the quality of government policies. This study aims to analyze the transformation of public decision-making processes within the digital information ecosystem characterized by the increasing production and distribution of disinformation. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach through a systematic literature review by examining academic publications, policy documents, reports from international institutions, and national regulations related to digital information governance. The analysis was conducted using the policy narrative approach, the New Public Governance perspective, and policy network theory. The findings indicate that public decision-making is no longer dominated solely by government actors but is influenced by complex interactions among governments, digital platforms, mass media, civil society organizations, and interest groups. Disinformation plays a significant role in shaping public perceptions, altering policy agendas, and influencing the legitimacy of governmental decisions. Therefore, strengthening collaborative governance, enhancing digital literacy, and developing multi-stakeholder information verification mechanisms are essential to safeguarding democratic quality and improving the effectiveness of public policies in the digital era.

Abstract

The global workforce’s rapid evolution and the complexities of Industry 4.0 necessitate a paradigm shift in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Modern institutions are required to produce graduates who possess not only specialized practical skills but also robust non-technical competencies to navigate unpredictable professional environments. Despite the emphasis on workforce readiness, a significant research gap persists in contextualizing general TVET competencies into specific, actionable assessment frameworks for niche professions, such as the cook helper role in the culinary industry. This study aims to bridge this gap by conducting a qualitative Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 30 peer-reviewed articles to identify core technical and non-technical competency variables. The findings reveal that while hard skills—such as culinary technique mastery, food safety, and hygiene—remain foundational, soft skills like adaptability, resilience, and effective communication are equally decisive for long-term career sustainability. This study successfully adapts these general TVET variables into specific, measurable indicators for cook helpers, emphasizing procedural precision and adherence to industry standards. Furthermore, the proposed assessment framework integrates work-based, interpersonal, and behavioral evaluations, offering a holistic measurement tool for SMK students. The study concludes that assessment frameworks in vocational education must transition from product-oriented testing to authentic, performance-based evaluations, particularly when implemented within Teaching Factory ecosystems.

Abstract

Vocational High Schools (SMK) and the industrial world have a close symbiotic relationship in producing competent graduates for the workforce needed by industrial factories as a qualified resource. However, the main challenge still faced is the gap (mismatch) between graduate competencies and the expectations of the World of Work and the World of Industry (DUDI). The purpose of this study is to describe the strategic role and pattern of partnership relationships between vocational schools and industrial partners. This research method is a literature study using data collected over the past five years as study material in the research. The results show that the involvement of industrial partners through curriculum synchronization, industrial class programs, teaching factories, and Industrial Work Practices (Prakerin) as a means of preparing students for the transition from the world of education to the world of industry. The success of this continuity is also built on a foundation of trust and communication between schools and industrial managers. The impact of a strong partnership will significantly improve students' hard skills and soft skills. This study emphasizes the importance of the role of industry as an external validator to ensure graduates have relevant competitiveness and adaptability to technological changes to ensure continuity between schools and the industrial world.

Abstract

The phenomenon of job mismatch is one of the challenges in the development of vocational education and training because it indicates a discrepancy between the competencies possessed by graduates and the requirements of the jobs they hold. This situation can affect the effectiveness of training in preparing a workforce that meets the needs of industry, business, and the workforce (IDUKA). This study aims to analyze job mismatch in non-formal vocational training based on the results of a tracer study of alumni from the Rumah Gemilang Indonesia Training and Course Institute (LKP). The study employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through a tracer study using an online questionnaire involving 72 alumni of the Rumah Gemilang Indonesia Training Center. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, including frequency, percentage, and mean. The results indicate that the majority of alumni have entered the workforce, with 38.9% working in fields aligned with their training and 27.8% working in fields not aligned with the training they received. The indicator with the highest average score was “training that helps prepare for employment or entrepreneurship” (4.43), while the lowest-scoring indicator was “discrepancies between training content and the requirements of current jobs” (3.06). The research findings indicate that non-formal vocational training has made a positive contribution to improving graduates’ work readiness; however, there are still signs of a job mismatch, as evidenced by the proportion of graduates working outside their field of training, the need for additional training, and the demand for new competencies after entering the workforce. Therefore, the results of the tracer study should be utilized as a basis for program evaluation through curriculum updates, strengthened collaboration with industry partners, and enhanced practice- and technology-based learning to improve the relevance of graduates’ competencies to labor market needs.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in the Indonesian economy. Despite their contribution to economic growth and employment, many MSMEs continue to face various challenges. This study examines the role of Islamic Financial Literacy and Digital Literacy in shaping the Economic Morality of MSMEs. Drawing upon the perspective of Islamic economics, Economic Morality is understood as ethical behavior in economic activities reflected through values such as honesty, fairness, responsibility, and concern for others. The study employs a quantitative approach using survey data collected from 89 MSME actors in Indonesia. Ordinary Least Squares regression is used to analyze the relationship between Islamic Financial Literacy, Digital Literacy, and Economic Morality. The findings indicate that Islamic Financial Literacy has a positive and significant effect on Economic Morality. When disaggregated into its dimensions, Awareness and Ability emerge as significant predictors, while Intention and Confidence do not demonstrate consistent effects. Digital Literacy also exhibits a positive and significant relationship with Economic Morality, suggesting that digital capability complements Islamic financial knowledge in fostering ethical economic behavior. These findings extend the literature by demonstrating that Islamic Financial Literacy contributes not only to financial and business outcomes but also to the moral dimension of entrepreneurial behavior. The study highlights the importance of strengthening both Islamic financial literacy and digital literacy as part of broader efforts to develop financially capable and ethically responsible MSMEs.
